  1. Let's be honest. Sydney have been horrible here and Collingwood are only 15 points up.
  2. He's in his sixth season and we went past them in Roos' third year. They've brought it tonight (so far), but the Swans haven't turned up yet. The Swans (with admittedly numerous 'outs') look eminently gettable this year as well. There are three teams I fear in the AFL this season. Bulldogs, GWS and West Coast. We match up well on Adelaide, but they might be the fourth team. The rest are very beatable. Massive second quarter coming up.
  3. I reckon he was tagged during the second and early part of the third last week.
  4. Not gonna happen. Carlton will want two top picks for Gibbs and will probably not want Bugg, despite SOS' involvement.
  5. I'd also add that he's a lot better kick than this article gives him credit for.
  6. Smith seems like a nice bloke. Hope he does really well this weekend and can carve out a career for himself at AFL level. Will only make our list stronger.
  7. We've already started doing this with Weideman. Reckon, we should try something a little different.
  8. And then it looks like ANB falls out of the bin...
  9. Means we're moving forward then, doesn't it? : )
  10. Is he explosive and/or quick or a slower inside mid type? (I still haven't seen him play)
  11. My apologies. Didn't think they'd play him. I was wrong. Not totally convinced we shouldn't just be going smalls around Watts and Weideman, but time will tell. Congrats, Smithy.
  12. Did you watch the game or just bringing inane biases to the table?
  13. I actually thought ANB was better round 2 than round 1. When none of our half forwards could lay a tackle, he had 4 on the board. He finished with 5 (equal with Harmes, who came from nowhere in the last quarter). ANB laid the third most tackles on the ground. No way he goes out. Do people actually watch the game?
  14. I just don't think it's a good attitude. Being realistic is fine, but I'm not going to call a narrow loss a 'win' and I'm going to be angry if we don't win. It'll mean we didn't bring the required pressure and decision making, which I know we possess now.
  15. Yeah, Smith won't come in this week unless they think Kent is still off the pace. Just can't see it happening.
  16. Indeed, but one was Jesse Hogan. An incredibly talented and smart KPP. Pedersen and Smith (in his first AFL game) would not provide what Hogan could provide, which included bursts in the midfield. It's apples and oranges for mine. We have to try and run an aging Geelong off their feet IMO.
  17. I don't think we need Smith or Pedersen. Surely, we saw how well the fleet of foot smalls worked for us against St Kilda and how we've been mauled in the past by playing too many big guys. Watts, Weideman and even Petracca are mobile talls. Kent, Hannan, Jeffy are on the deck and hopefully we elasticise the ground like we did against the Saints and get lots of one on ones. If we can get separation on our Geelong opponents, they won't be able to go with that forward line. They're very slow in the back half, Geelong. And if we make Harry Taylor have to play down back, that's one less forward option the Cats have.
  18. We play a zone defence... The zone does its job and Hawkins doesn't get a look in.
  19. Brayshaw was ordinary on the weekend, but he's being played out of position and will be a very good player when he gets a run at it. He showed this in the middle towards the back end of last year. If you're going after Lever, it's draft picks. You don't take from the midfield we're building. We still need to strengthen the midfield, so taking another player from that area is stooopid.
  20. Nope, unfortunately. Upon reflection, I just can't see us satisfying the Crows. We might be able to convince Lever, but can't see the Crows coming to the table.
  21. I still reckon we need a big A grade midfield acquisition, but adding Lever's composure to our backline would be massive. Maybe it's a case of putting up our first rounder this year and a future first rounder to acquire Kelly and Lever? If we could manage that somehow, we'd be a real shot at the top 4 next year.
