  1. No idea, mate. Haha. Ask the FD. But I suspect either Vince will continue in the shut down role or it will be handed to someone else, potentially Melksham.
  2. I agree the comparisons between Vince and Melksham are off, but I can understand the notion that Melksham could be as important to us playing his role as Vince is playing his. Their outputs will be different, because positionally, I think there will be different expectations. Having said all that, I've made is plainly clear that I don't rate Melksham, however I'm prepared to back in the FD.
  3. I'll say it again. We must have received word from WADA or the AFL that stipulates he won't receive a ban. Or at least, that it won't occur during the season.
  4. I call BS on this. There's a GWS supporter?
  5. That would be a horrible move if true.
  6. Wow, Olympic level back-peddling, HH.
  7. Not sure Watts and Johnstone should be uttered in the same sentence as Melksham when it comes to disposal. Both elite disposers of the ball. Melksham is not. As for Vince having 3 a game, that's because he averages about 5-10 more disposals a game than Melksham and therefore more likely to make a mistake. If Melksham is in the door I'll back the FD, but I'm not expecting much. Every time I've ever watched him he's butchered the ball. I hope getting him in the red and blue changes things.
  8. They cost them nothing except places on their list, which will hurt them long term.
  9. Things can change pretty quickly. What if they looked to trade him? Still, I think you're probably right, mate. I doubt he's going anywhere.
  10. I'll be quite happy seeing North down the bottom for a few years. Maybe we can get a few back on them.
  11. Personally, I think the Roos are shooting themselves in the foot. It's very reminiscent of the last few years of Daniher's reign at Melbourne. They've got a bunch of blokes that are 27 and above, while there is a dearth of young talent on their list. They are going to crash and burn, IMO. That said, for our needs and where our list is at, I'd be jumping at JPK.
  12. I reckon we have role players that can partner with Hogan for the next two to three years. I've always felt that we'd get a FA KPF to partner him. It'd mean we're a more desirable club at that point. In two to three years, we will be. Keep targeting midfielders in the meantime. They'll be the ones that get us to finals.
  13. I reckon Freo, like the Roos and Cats, are done. At least from winning a flag any time soon. Freo will probably be top 4 again next year and the Roos will probably scrape into the 8, but their lists have gone as far as they're likely to take them.
  14. I'd want Watts' replacement to be an upgrade on Watts, otherwise I wouldn't bother. Bird is more of a competitor, but I think Watts has more tools. Not to mention Bird will be 27 at the start of 2016. This would be a bad, bad trade, IMO. If true, it shows very much that the FD are happy to get rid of Watts for very little.
  15. Hard to defend too, if you don't have Jack Fitzpatrick.
  16. Lol. Not sure he's trying to become a model. Despite his detractors, I actually think he'll become a very good player. He won't be in Hogan's class, but his attributes just make him so dangerous if it clicks for him mentally.
  17. Lol, it's pretty unfair that one. Action shots shouldn't count.
  18. Come on, mate. And we beat the Bulldogs. What does that say?
  19. If that's the case, it's a bit of a strange decision. I wonder what that says about our ability to attract players of any standard to the club, given we have to take such a risk on a bloke who isn't exactly a B grader.
  20. They're in a lot of trouble. There's no doubt they're behind us in terms of list development, but they're top players are still probably better than ours. They don't have a lot of top players though.
  21. I reckon we must have received advice from somewhere suggesting none of them will be punished or at least banned from the game. I don't think we'd take the risk otherwise, for the reasons you've stated above.
  22. This could go either way. If our FD thinks he could really add something, we may pay a 2nd rounder, but I'm hoping we'd say, 'a 3rd rounder or we'll pick him up in the PSD'.
  23. Haha. This thread's actually pretty funny reading. And as usual, HH has me convinced he's 12 or 13 years old.
  24. Yeah, I meant AND. I'd argue there's a bit of risk in it from our end too. Prestia is coming off a knee injury and Bennell could well blow up in a year or two and go off the rails. I think it's a pretty fair trade and there's a chance Gold Coast go from their vice captain seeking a trade, to potentially winning the trade if pick 6 turns out to be a goodie.
