  1. Turner could be anything from the mid season draft and Petty from the second round. Otherwise, I'd agree.
  2. I was saying yesterday Collingwood and Hawthorn are the two worst supporter groups to go to a game against. Collingwood, because they're feral and generally aggressive. Hawthorn, because they're the smarmiest supporters in the league. The past 7 years were glorious, and we should have continued the streak against those pretenders.
  3. It was a Hawthorn member make up home game. So there were a lot there. There's probably not a more fair-weather supporter base than Hawthorn's. They're used to winning flags and don't turn up when they're losing. They don't even turn up when they're winning flags if it's a bit cold and a bad timeslot. In Round 11, 2014, on the way to a 3peat, they managed only 17,906 at the MCG against GWS.
  4. Did he have a kid with him? I couldn't speak after the game. 🤣 Was sounding very Jake Levery post game / at half time. 🤦
  5. And easily slotted that first goal calmly from 50. Beautiful kick. He's gonna be special.
  6. Don't mind this mate. 👏
  7. Views on Jeffo's game too, please, Picket?
  8. Yep, I hope we add another 2 first rounders this year to go with Lindsay, Langford and Windsor.
  9. It was a good balance of long down the line to Max and switching with a willingness for uncontested possession (to the chargin of some Hawthorn supporting nuffies), and cutting back into the corridor.
  10. We are playing a completely different game style than 2021-2023 and most of 2024. Goalkicking accuracy is a completely different problem to game style.
  11. You realise we led just before 3/4 time, plus had 4 more scoring shots than them to 3/4 time. We. Had. Them. On. Toast. if you're gonna have a pop at least show you have a feel for the game. We've completely changed the way we move the footy.
  12. Yep, that's pretty apparent. 🤦
  13. I dunno mate. It was a big moment in the game. And they took down the other end and kicked a goal. You need reward for effort and we were on too at the time.
  14. What? We transitioned the ball beautifully many times and had them on toast for three quarters. Did you watch the game? Did you watch the game?
  15. Agree with all of this except depth.
  16. Oh, and I'd be trying JVR as a CHB, which will release Turner, who is going to be a very good player at either end of the ground, to play forward alongside Petty. I'd then play Petty as second ruck.
  17. It's pretty clear that this game style is going to stand up, but we have to play it for 4 quarters and we need to take our chances in front of goal. We should have won today and I thought thw scoreboard was extremely flattering to Hawthorn. Hawthorn look very good when there's no pressure. As soon as they had frontal pressure their skill level was shown up too. Langford is going to be an out and out star. Thank goodness he played. What a jet.
  18. It's just a matter of putting forward a strong enough case.
  19. In terms of co-funding at the Caulfield site, I'd be looking at a partnership with Monash Uni, much like the Swinburne partnership with Richmond and the Deakin partnership with Geelong. One level could be used by Monash during non training days for their sports science students. These assets, outside of admin and footy department, would be dormant for large periods of the week and could be used by Monash if we stuck their logo on there and accessed further funding with the partnership.
  20. I've seen a fair bit of commentary on Demonland that says Fritta can't play a defensive role. When we beat Collingwood in 2023 King's Birthday, he played the Melksham defensive role on Moore and kicked 3, and was the most dominant forward on the ground. That should be the model for his role today.
  21. I cry simply reading this thread. I'm glad the club have made the Davey family feel loved and seen. I can't imagine what it would be like having my boy taken away. Just tragic. RIP Jack.
  22. I see Sharp as hopefully having an ANB type evolution to his development. He has similar skill set and as @Ghostwriter says, has that infectious energy and desire to put his head down and be part of the team. If he keeps at it, he's another of those hard-working high half forwards who can hit the scoreboard (to go alongside Chandler) who @binman wants a few more of. Still only 22, so definitely upside and being the sub would be giving him some nourishment for effort. He's an interesting watch for mine.
  23. It's more I don't want emotion in my analysis. You can't properly analyse if you're clouded by emotion.
  24. But losing Koz from midfield is huge. He's a crucial cog in the way we move the ball now.
  25. I think his pressure inside 50 has become too important the last few weeks, but maybe they'll sacrifice some of that.
