I've just been walking thru big-footy rumours. Its shaping the at other rumours have surfaced just in the last couple of weeks or so,,, like Gaff to Cats, and other clubs, etc. This seems to have come out, since around the time Gaff struck young Brayshaw... under duress? I wondering strongly, if WE made it official at that time, to the gaff camp, that we were out of the running, for Gaff. I sense if that's the case, that we have changed our minds, and we have found a different suitor to our needs. A left field one. What chance Cyril ?

I think so, 'DD'... Re the gut running... also ANB,,, and to a lesser, JKH as well, as a backup. IF we were into gaff since early on in 2017... a lot has changed within Mfc's list,,, since at least mid 2017... and certainly this season, especially. We are finding a few gut runners now, which was a real weakness for us, in Roosy's days. Gaff was in this equation. We have a need for speed, and they are like gold now, amongst the AFL.
  3. Looks like de melk. can he kick, goals?
  4. DV8 replied to Pates's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes, but surely the only imperative is that they can play footy, 1st, 2nd, & even yes, 3rd.... I don't care if they're illiterate. We can always send them to school after footy, to learn the alphabet. It's high time this club stopped worrying about grammarians,,, and focused on footy players.... as a priority. Or we will go for another 50 something years, again.

LoL... shakes head... what, like English is his first language, dc? or has he already developed a bloody plum in his throat. Lets let boys be boys, and footy players be footy players, and not spoil therm by smoothing off the edges, just yet... please. Let then have their roughness's. and their aggression.

He hasn't found his fluency in his kicking just yet, at AFL level... but today was better than last week. For him, Its just a mater of feeling more comfortable out there. I'm sure.

And lets remember, he has been messed up during past preseasons with ankle injuries... so hasn't really had big preseasons, for fitness. Again, last preseason (2018), was a shortened preseason for him, Re surgery, and so he had a delayed start to this season.

Do you mean the 'RoundUp', in the black&white boxed no frills brand ??
  10. There's a lot of preciousness going around. No One wants Jesse gone. But we all want say a Josh Kelly, or a Whitfield, Shiel, or a Lachie Neale at this club. If one of these players becomes available to us, at the right price, then what ?
  11. He's the same player, but he needs the ball put out in front of him, to run at. 2 first Rnd picks doesn't mean 2 kids. It might turn into a Josh Kelly, or a Whitfield and Shiel. Maybe a Lachie Neale +,,, at end of 2018? The point is, its worthy of a discussion. And no disrespect at all, to Jesse.
  12. This is the obvious, M5. The injury occurred/was diagnosed, after the discussion started. It obviously should change things, and move the discussion to the back burner. Which then comes back next year, his contract year. Possible players of interest ? >>> https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/to-fremantle-dockers https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/to-west-coast-eagles Lachie Neale is a restricted free agent in 2019_ for just one.

Exactly. 10 yrs ago I believed things were done at end of season. Not now, do I,,, am I so naive. I think Barassi's return, was at least, 1Yr in the making, ahead of it happening.
  15. No, playing the man DD. You remind me of a wannabe TV star doing the rounds. Short on talent but will do anything to get a gig. This one, Andy Lee, happens to be a Carton supporter.

Some find the faults ahead of others. Some always look for the negatives, first. Most tho' when finding negatives, give up on players. This is the saddest part of it. The writing off, hastily. organically? hothouse? hydroponic?

Here ya go Wls11, have your way. But remember, if you have to phluck it, pkluck is slooooowww. enjoy.
  19. So here we ware again. What I want is to get class Mids onto OUR list. the easiest way we can. I think what you want in all this is just to be malicious. Let me put it this way... I like Jesse Hogan... and I am virtually the first on here to push for us to recruit him,,, in the very first place when he was a 17Yr old, or younger ! Now I was also the one pushing for us to recruit Weideman. I was also the main one pushing for us to play TMc as a CHF/Follower,,, when we got injuries to Gawn and Spencer. And now it is, I am pushing for us to recruit a topline classy experienced mid... but the key to doing this is,,, what have we got to use to satisfy another club. If we identify a player that suits these needs. So you see, what I want are classy mids, in RednBlue_ Not to trade out a player who I really like. The crux is, we have to give up something, to get something we really need. So I am trying to be creative. What is it you think you are trying to do? .
  20. No. What I want (and you cannot tell me what it is I want) is to get class midfielders and pace, into our list. The means of howe we do this, is what I believe your referring to... and I am open to other suggestions, as to how we can get these experienced topline Mids onto our list, this 2018, and next year.
  21. For your information I have been considering the possibilities of a Hogan trade, for at least 2 Yrs now. Its not that I really want to trade him, but sometimes the need outweighs the in-house value. Truth be known, Jesse is best out at CHF, playing that old David Schwartz role. He is not a deep F/Forward. On the other hand, 'Weide' will be very good deep forward. And with smalls players at his feet. Now, with these forwards, and Tmac as well.... who plays CHF just as well as Hogan;.... what else do we have as options, to get the class Mids into the lineup, which we need. So, there's some more facts, for you to chew on.
  22. He can take pack marks, swyl... but mostly, he needs a run and jump to do it. Playing one out deep isn't Jesse's best option. They double team him, and edge him under the ball. especially when we bomb it in. High ball marks aren't his strength.
  23. How do you know fairweather supporters,,, have a sudden urge after one (in your words, 'bad performance'). Are you assuming again DD?
  24. Tony Dalroy. ABC on wireless in Vietnam. Any chance you can get the radio call of the '64 GF over there,,, for us?
