It takes 2 to tango (fight). And both are wrong; unless one is first attacked and then defends,,, without attacking back. Gaffs hit was accidental. It happened, he didn't mean it. 'fight and flight' mode happens, under great stress... just as stress also brings on depression, often.

How can people want to be the hanging judge on hits in an aggressive physical contact game and at the same time as a nation we condone mentally training our young men to be paid Killers for the armed forces or lately our police forces.? And then these armed forces folk when they get home are de-arranged ticking time-bombs, in the right circumstances. We talk about terrorists coming back here as dangerous, yet we train our own of a similar ability. .... having our cake, and eating it as well. some people will always find ways to barrack for their own views... no matter what. without need of question, or a mirror.

This is the main area the AFL need to fix, Re laws. The whistle blows, the clock should STOP ! Not kick countdown needed. "Clock On" should not happen, until the ball is disposed of... A man down for 10,,, would force players back I would imagine.... and the return of powerful marking big men.

Buddy is about the only tall in Swans forward half. Frost IMO will be 1st option on Bud.. as he has the speed to go with him. OMc does not. If Bud plays Deep... Neither OMc or Frost have the body strength. If Allir Allir or other goes forward with Buddy, we don't have the cattle to match him. Pedo comes in as Full back and has the strength to match Buddy or Allir Allir in deep defence Pedo is a much better kick than either OMc or Frost.. and he can run with the ball and deliver. OMc has been off his game recently. This game against the Swans is a MUST WIN Game for us, as we compete for the same area of the ladder... Much much more important than the games against the Eagles or the Giants... as these 2 teams are a lock-in for Finals. We can hold out the Swans and save our spot inside the eight. THIS is the crucial game for our season, right now. I don't think either JKH or Vanders will come out of this team... they are both too mature and reliable, defensively. IF any others miss it would be Fritsch... He is tired and needs a break, but we cannot afford to be without him in this important match, because of his reading the play, and his skills at both ends. I would rest Fritsch against the Eagles, in Perth. .

The why is always a good starting point. So,,,, Why do people want Mitchell as an assistant then ?????? He's never coached? ... theres that Why.

A quality person and a great player Ex Sydney;,,, who has been coaching with the Crows for the past 4 years or so. * He has the Swans ethics culture, built in... we can expect to meet the Swans in finals in coming seasons. * He knows the Crows players, and Styles/methods, which we will be playing in Finals against in coming seasons. * He knows footy inside out, (especially forward/mids) & he's looking for a coaching role in the AFL, currently. * He's a winner. Other than these thoughts, I can't say anymore than that,,, other then he's always been one of my Favs as a player. We have a few players who try to play as Half forwards/Mids.... ROk's specialty. .

IMO Gaff should miss the same amount of time lost by young Brayshaw, plus some, for the undisciplined and unwarranted action. What if Miller killed Lonergan ? accidents do happen, unintentionally ? A kid throws a rope over a branch on a tree, inside the front yard... he tries to climb the rope, the branch snaps and falls, hitting a pedestrian on the footpath, killing them ? .

NOPE. no red cards/yellow cards, of any sort. A Sin bin, Yes. With proviso's. If a player has been knocked out or severely injured maliciously, off the play, and leaves the ground unable to return, the perpetrator should be 'SinBinned' for a matching time of the victim. Which could end up in weeks of the season. Or, If a player has given a jumper punch dropping the opponent, or been overly abusive to an umpire, he could be given 5 mins in SinBin. The Team plays one down, for the period. In the case of a 'SinBin', for a player victim who has been removed straight from the ground and not through the interchange gate, the perpetrator also sits the match out, but a Substitute player can enter the game to even the numbers. .

We wouldn't ask Jones to leave. Fd. GCS would, and the AFL could with a proposal. Which would also involve the Swans. Only after any interest was shown by Jonesy himself,,, would Melbournefc be at the end of any talks. Again it does not start with this footy club,,, but with the AFL and the GCSuns... Dewy may have totally different ideas. So your comments above are totally irrelevant to this footy club. Its all about the AFL, and their biggest job in footy. You really don't get it, because you don't care for the AFL all that much. your just Melbourne & that's all. Not everyone is limited to just Melbourne SWYL. Someone who cares about the AFL game, and its development.. Someone with a generous spirit and the skills to achieve the goals, to do the job right. I think Jones'y is like this, as a person. .

Reasons I've stated... and it would lengthen his playing career... and he can contribute to an important AFL cause, when he will have been payed out, by us. Come this time next year, Jones'y will be coming off contract. He will be finished as captain, and the club has a one year policy after 30yrs of age I believe. He will be 31Yrs +... end of 2019. and will only get one more year. We have other young leaders now, who are making strides, and Viney or TMc will take the sole mantle. The end of 2019 will see the end of Vince, Lewis, And closely following will be Nathan. The other side of the coin is; there is a Key position defender going into the market this end of season... and we might be looking down the barrel IF Lever fails in his recovery from the 2nd Knee reconstruction, on the same knee. We don't have much to bid with for May this year. But we need him desperately, IMO. The gap between OMc,,,, and Petty and Dec; is much too big to wait on they're development, and we should not rely on Frost and OMc. If all we have is Frost and OMc next year... TMc will have to play back often next year, and in finals. Our whole club redevelopment could blow up in our face, if we don't cover off Lever. This is what I'm talking about. It really is that big a deal.

It cannot do any damage to this club, as it would be up to Jones'y himself and his family, to choose. he is contracted till next year so it would be his decision alone, other than the Suns, and the AFL.
