Last one of these I swear.... Or maybe one for Jarred Redden, I'll see! With trade period drawing to a close, it looks as though we aren't going to land another key forward to support Hogan as Mahoney had talked about. Sure we may end up drafting one of Curnow, Francis, Weideman or maybe even one of the McKay boys at 29 if they slide that far. But either way, they'll need time to develop, so should we target someone for the now through the delisted free agent period. I've previously done a thread on Port's delisted forward Mason Shaw, but they've got another key forward they've delisted given their stocks by the name of Mitch Harvey who fits the bill. 20 years of age, 196cm, 100kg who's capable of holding down a key post and going into the ruck, which is something we've lacked. Two years in the system, however yet to debut as he's behind the likes of Schulz, Westhoff, then add the fact Power have played two rucks all year. Below are the write ups of his two years in the SANFL, and you'll notice until Round 18 this year when he seemed to hot a form slump, he'd been tracking very well. http://www.aflplayerratings.com.au/Ratings/Player/117353/Mitch-HARVEY Only highlights I could find were his U18 highlights. Looks a very good mark. All he'll cost is a spot on our list. I wouldn't be against taking him, but just feel we need to create one more space on our list. So whether we delist Hunt, pay out Terlich or trade Grimes for a pick upgrade I don't know. But could Harvey be worth a punt is what I want to know?

Mahoney thought it was a pressing enough issue to mention it as something we needed on trade radio.

Wouldn't suprise me at all to see Essendon take Weideman at 5 given theyhave the two picks, means they may be more open to the gamble, especially if they get Parish at 4.

The last pick in the draft that's worth any points is Pick 73 I think, worth 9 points. So Picks 29, 46 & 64 are the only ones we have worth anything given Pick 50 already seems to be allocated. -
Really hoping we land one of Curnow or Francis at 6 (assume Parish will be gone).Either of those two will be able to play the role of 3rd tall forward who pushes up the ground beautifully! Only forward we'll lack then would be a 2nd tall who can chop out in the ruck.

Reckon we must be looking to improve our draft position while still landing Bugg. Whether it be through GWS, Sydney or Brisbane. -
Couple of de-listed free agents from the Power by the names of Mitch Harveyand Mason Shaw. Given the cost is only a list spot, i reckon one of them could be well worth a punt.

So sounds like we're out of the running for GWS'S Pick 8 & Sydney's Pick 14. Should we make a play for Brisbane's Pick 17 by offering 29 & 46? They could use the extra points for Keayes & Hipwood. Can then make a late play for Pick 3 by offering Gold Coast 6 & 17, as unlikely as it would be.

2 year deal. -
Only was to salvage is trade picks 29, 46 and 50 to Sydney for Pick 14. Trade Picks 6 & 14 to Gold Coast for Picks 3, 35 & Gorringe. Trade 35 for Bugg and a later pick. Then maybe package Grimes with our 4th round pick for a pick upgrade and get a 2nd live pick back up there.
-
Don't forget our extra 3rd round pick!
-
Kennedy & Pick 29 for Howe is fair value i think. Pick 50 for Toumpas given some of the form he started to show this year is a massive rip off!
-
Don't have the points table with me, but what does picks 29, 46 and 50 equal for points? Pick 8, or at the very least 14?
-
Someone please explain how this deal comes close to the bench mark of the Gold Coast deal?
-
Maybe Buckley made Josh an offer to good to refuse (Godfather style) and Saturday morning he woke up next to a horses head?

Was the great escape last night. We always seem to have trouble against Scotland and last night was no exception. Got through though and that's the main thing. Argentina in a semi now after they stunned Ireland last night, who just can't seem to get past Quarter Final stage at a World Cup. They must have their own form of a Norm Smith curse i think as they always dominate 6 nations. Has to be said after the weekends matches, it's hard to see anyone beating the All Blacks.
-
We already have Pick 46.
-
Your not wrong, but there's every chance that trade wont happen at all and if it does it could be well into the last hour making it a race against time.If our Howe trade is done by Monday/Tuesday, then we can give them some certantity with any trade.
-
Was mentioned in The Age this morning it could be two 2nd rounders. Now even if those 2nd round picks for Howe were 29 (Port) & 32 (Crows), it's still more points combined then Sydney's Pick 14. They will also want to get points for Mills & Dunkley. 6 & 14 could still get us 3 & 35 from Gold Coast which is what we were trying to get with the Howe trade anyway.
-
I get what your saying, but pretty sure Anderson's only 6cm taller then Kennedy.

Removed my post. Not appropriate.

Haha, I see what you mean, However take out the Aish & Treloar deals that aren't actually apart of it, I've just refrenced. It;s only actually 5 trades. Still is a bit though.
-
Ok, so this is what I'm hoping will be the case for it to potentially work for us if it's a 4 club multi trade and Mahoney to keep his word re: Kennedy being seperate and still allowing us to work with Gold Coast. Firstly let's say the Treloar deal is Collingwood's Pick 7 & 2016 1st Rounder to GWS for Treloar & Pick 27. Then the Aish deal is Oxley & Pick 26 to Brisbane for Aish and a late Pick. Melbourne trade out Howe, Toumpas & Pick 46 Collingwood trade out Seedsman, Pick 27 (from GWS) & Pick 47 Port Adelaide trade out Pick 29 & 50 Adelaide trade out Picks 28 & 52. Melbourne gain Picks 27, 28 & 29 Collingwood gain Howe, Pick 50 & 52 Port Adelaide gain Toumpas & Pick 47 Adelaide gain Seedsman & Pick 46 Melbourne can then: Trade Picks 27, 28 & 29 (2033 points) to GWS for Pick 8 & 41-They're likely to get from Carlton (1963) Trade Picks 6 & 8 (3302) to Gold Coast for Picks 3 & 16 (3301) Trade Pick 41 to the Filth for Kennedy Trade Grimes & Pick 64 to Richmond who trade Pick 31 to GWS for Bugg & Pick 66 to us Go to the draft with Pick 3 (Parish/Curnow/Francis), Pick 16 (Bonner), 66 (Vandenberg Promotion), 82 (Harmes promotion) Pick up a couple of De-listed free agents, two rookies and away we go. Edit: Added Richmond to Grimes trade as they were linked at the start of the week.
-
Don't worry Wiseblood, you and I feel the same about Elton. Only reason I put his name in there was I figured to balance the trade out there needed to be another component. Would have said Pick 70 but that has been traded to GWS. Only other option I could think of was Hampson!
-
Ask Richmond if they'd be interested in Howe & Grimes for Picks 12 & Todd Elton? Odd trade I know. But you never know what way Richmond may go....
