  1. I think the dogs wold love Fev, but there may be salary cap issues. He's still contracted so whoever takes him on will have to take on his Carlton pay packet. That's a pretty big ask. Still, it helps Carlton get a little closer to the cap.
  2. Were we? Who said that? I didn't even know we'd made an offer for him.
  3. Get rid of the player. Preferably delist and then draft again, but don't cave in to what he wants. No player can be allowed to declare themselves to be bigger than the team. By putting the club in that situation that is exactly what he would be doing. Likewise, if he were holding out on signing a contract over whether or not we made a play for his brother, show him the door. I don't mind negotiating in good faith, but blackmailing the club would be inexcusable.
  4. And here I thought Judd was a sellout who went for the biggest paycheck... Who'd have thought?
  5. How long is it until final list lodgement? Sometime in November? I really don't think we need to be freaking out if the contract isn't finished yet. As with Brad Green last year, he's got to look at his options and his market value and decide what he values more. From everything I've ever heard of the guy he'll stick with us, even if someone else is offering slightly more money (although I don't see how any of the top sides could find room to outbid us and still be under the cap). Either way, no news is good news. If he had decided to leave they'd be fishing for a top 10 trade and probably already announced it. Silence just indicates ongoing negotiations.
  6. I think it's been pretty well documented by now that Homesickness had nothing to do with Jurrah leaving Collingwood. He went home because his friend had cancer. I don't think anyone can find fault with that.
  7. I don't think we'll make the 8 next year, but 9 wins is very doable. I'd say 6 is the bare minimum. 8-9 is a good year and 9+ is an amazing effort.
  8. I don't see the need. He's consistently underperformed and we have no real need of what he offers. I certainly wouldn't give pick 11 for him, much less 11 and a player.
  9. Agreed. He can play a role pretty much anywhere on the park. Could be especially handy if we have some KPPs injured. Also, as a run with player he has a huge advantage in his size. Hard for a midfielder to outmark him.
  10. Actually, there was one more. No way did Chapman deserve the Norm Smith. Edit: Or perhaps not, given that they don't pick the winner. So all in all a good day from the umps, but the voting panel need to be flogged.
  11. Funny. All in all I think the umps did a great job. There were only two calls I saw that were wrong. Sadly both went against the saints, but the difference on the scoreboard would only be 11 points, so no harm done.
  12. We need a link to an online screening of the game I think. Who knows where to get one?
  13. No interest in in Walker. We don't need him and he's really not worth the effort of making a trade. As has been mentioned, too injury prone. More like that is the last thing we need.
  14. I'd be inclined to say Vardy is the best option. He seems to be pretty highly rated by a lot of people and he addresses our biggest weakness. Not only is he apparently a pretty good ruck, he can play forward and do some damage. Given that at least one of the key forwards listed will probably be around at 18, he's the one i'd like to see us take at 11.
  15. I'm one of the dormant ones. I think there were 2 games I could make it to this year. The rest of the time it clashed with my work days. I blame Demetriou. He's clearly scheduling games to keep people like me from going to them.
  16. The Davey rumour came from the guy who gave us the Brock rumour. Given that the Brock one was spot on, many people are worried, but I believe his is the only word we have on the subject so far. There's a bit of a panic about the motivations attributed to Davey.
  17. Why would Carlton trade their first pick for a player they know is going to leave in a year? They won't get a better pick from GC in the next trade period.
  18. I really don't see how this applies to the discussion at hand. How does Grimes have any bearing on who we get with pick 11 and how well they end up playing? Does TJ have some influence on whether Brock (not Brick as I may have previously stated) comes back after his injury problems?
  19. Does the word alcoholic mean anything to people? Personally I think the club should be putting him on the 12 step program and sending him to AA meetings. He has a serious problem and sooner or later he needs to accept that and start looking at solutions. If he keeps going this way he's going to wind up unemployed, divorced and broke.
  20. Richmond are in for a world of hurt.
  21. I made no mention of previous drafts. When we have a player in place of pick 11 I won't know how to compare him to Brick either. It'll still take years for the value of the deal to either club to be known
  22. Wow. That must've taken a while to put together. Nice.
  23. Anyone know who Carlton have coming up for Father-Son picks? They may be banking on a forward via that route.
