For those thinking that Melbourne FC should have fought City Hall tooth and nail over the tanking saga I hope you are watching carefully. You can't win. The Bomber fans are full of bravado according to bomber blitz but they are going to see the biggest smashing in the history of the AFL. (oh yeah....) -

They are definitely trying to muddy the waters and using every available avenue - the complicit media of Robbo and Connolly, ex-employees, ex-players, supporters, lawyers - you name it. I wonder if Dank has a new holiday house somewhere on an exotic island....I know nuthing.... This is the biggest scandal to hit the AFL in 150 yrs. They need to be open and transparent - not their forte. If its not the stench will remain for a very long time The obfuscation is incredible. We don't know what drugs we took, we know what we took but they weren't illegal. We don't have records, We have done nothing wrong. But we got rid of Dank and Robinson anyway. Doc Reid wrote to the Board but we can't find it and it was never delivered. Paul Hamilton is also gone as is Robson and Evans butwe did nothing wrong. We never would have fessed up if it wasn't for the AFL telling us too. Its their fault. Its franky unbelievable. -
Some players demand it don't they? They bring other players along with them. To me its the difference between knowing what it takes to be a leader and being a leader. Strangely enough I don't think Nate Jones has it. He is tireless and a warrior bit I don't think is capable of dragging players with him. Mitch Clark i think is. I'm told dawes is (if he ever stays on the park) Grimes and Trengove probably don't have the ability either given the question marks over their performance - they meet most of the other criteria i'd reckon. FWIW I don't reckon Judd is a leader. Sam Mitchell doesnt have it but Hodge does. So its more than just being a good player. ahh the elusive qualities of leadership.....

Your post is full of such garbage. Really? Geelong were a basket case when Selwood joined. Nearly sacked their coach and finished 10th. Fail. He has been instrumental in changing the geelong culture. Boak has almost single handedly turned Port around. Fail. As for your stupid comment about Ward he has held GWS together and led from the front. Fail. You'd be one of those pathetic Jack Watts types " ooohh if only the club had better administration I'd be a really good player" Sure you can create a culture from the top down. But you can also do it from the bottom up. Our pea hearts are looking for any excuse they can find. Just like you by the sound of things.
-
No-one has ever questioned Jones' work ethic, hardness, competitiveness or endeavour. Watts has never shown any of the above.

Ha ha no I don't but if I hear anything,,,,,,,

You get tired carrying around those chips on both shoulders??

How irrelevant. I just can't wait for Sylvia to get a full pre-season under his belt. He'll be a gun one day. Mark my words.... -
Told you so,.,,,,,,,

Daniher did a fantastic job with our club given his limited resources. Yes he played favourites who got games they didn't deserve but in his defence he had to keep us competitive because we were desperate for money. Gardner kept telling is we were making profits but it was a lie. We were going down the gurgler. How embarrassing our facilities in 2003. Danihers fault? clearly no. Daniher gets bagged constantly here and its unjustified. Our players today have no excuses IMO. First class facilities. Everything they could possibly want in terms of facilities. ooohh bit we don't like the CEO or the football manager. good grief its pathetic.

Redleg you can see it with your own eyes just like we can. We have many who don't run to space, chase, harass, give second options, help teamates out etc. Poor skills don't help either. Watch Harry O in the game against the Dorks. He would get the ball, explode for three or 4 paces taking the game on, give the ball off and run hard to create another option often receiving it back and driving it into the fwd 50. You can't tell me our players do that. Some don't try, some are too scared to try, some try but don't have the skills. Listen to any commentators about Saturdays game. Watch the replay and tell me you are happy with the effort our players showed. They give the ball off and stop - job done. Thats why we need on field leaders. Our experiment hasn't worked with rodan and byrne but its obvious why they were recruited. We are so lacking in leadership its a joke. Port have done it, The Dogs look like they have done it. brisbane look like they have done it. Our pea hearts need a flogging.

Hopefully two steals Viney and Hogan
-
You argument is frankly ridiculous. A first year player shows it can be done. Selwood did it at Geelong as well. The pea hearts will always blame someone else. Nate Jones doesn't, Viney doesn't. Travis Boak doesn't. Instead they get out there and do it. Callan Ward does it. Watts is waiting for someone to show him. Please...

Seems not many fussed by this great news....

According to a tweet by a Melbourne player (deleted name as it doesn't appear to be public yet). If so well done. Long overdue. Gun

PLayers come and go but our club has been here for 150+yrs.This present bunch of players though is doing their best to kill our club. I am sick of hearing about how hard it is to play for a club like melbourne when we are so bad. Sick of hearing players like Watts say " I wish we had leaders like Joel Selwood". Sick of the media laughing at us like they did on two radio stations I heard today Jack Viney showed the rest of them today how to run and how to attack a contest. A first year player. There were a few others and Nate Jones gives his all every week but I am so over this pathetic bunch of soft pea hearts. Port adelaide have done an amazing job of dragging themselves off the canvas when no-one wanted to coach them, no players wanted to get drafted by them. Same as the Bulldogs. Looked pathetic for a year and a half but now playing with passion and fire. And us? Well frankly our club will be lucky to be here in 3yrs time. Our players have escaped so much scrutiny its a joke. 'Oh we don't like cameron Schwab, oh we don't like Chris Connolly, oh we don't like Mark Neeld. If only we had some leaders, if only this if only that. My kids are done. Melbourne suck. I know of at least 3 other families where the kids have abandoned our club. And why wouldn't they? Where is the hope?Where is the spirit? Where is the passion? I couldn't care less if we dropped 20 players from our list at season end. Just find me some more like Viney who has a go week in week out. Some hard asses who play with passion and hardness. If we don't we will fold.

Actually I think they will be proven to be drug cheats. They willingly and knowingly pushed the limit and allegedly went over the line. Yes that is mildly different to someone who intentionally seeks to go over the line but still guilt. If I am robbing a bank and carrying a gun to menace people and the gun goes off and kills someone then i still 'dunnit'. I can argue it wasn't intentional but not that I am not guilty of a crime. Nor jurisdictional boundaries or lack of procedure or the fact that me and my three accomplices are great blokes who didn't mean to kill anyone. Let's just say for a minute that one of the Essendrug players died - we don't what WTF we injected into him but we are not guilty. According to ziggy it was a pharmacological experiment. This is where they are delusional. And they harder the fight, the bigger the sledgehammer will be when they get squashed. As for their supporters wearing sombreros to the footy they are delusional as well. Its all a great joke. FMD what morons. -
