Good pick up.

I like Bugg. Think he was treated poorly by the club over his brain fade. From all reports he has been contrite and has worked hard to regain 'trust' among the playing group. Could be a vital part of our future if he focuses on the right things. Kicked 7 g 12b and I suspect if he kicked 15 goals we would be talking about him differently.

Do you want to compare the accolades and achievements that Gibson and Franklin had to Watts? Which bit don't you get. It's about Jack's commitment to training and playing. Its below par. He got dropped for the pre-season after being urged by Roos to choose greatness. He is a serial under performer and has poor professional standards. We know you love him but at least try to be objective.

From last years B&F: Upon receiving his fifth-place award, Watts said “I’ll make it (speech) short, it’s taken me a while to get up here (on stage). “Usually, I’m down there feeling a bit awkward drinking free p---”. Roos: “Decide to be great. It is a decision, it doesn’t happen by accident. You have to want to be great. And greatness is not going to happen when you turn up on November 1 or whenever you turn up and Simon has got the whistle in charge. Greatness is going to happen when you walk out of this room tonight. That’s when greatness starts. You have to commit to it you have to want to do it and I would love nothing more than to see Simon and Nathan holding up the premiership cup." Watts was dropped from the pre-season games. People who think Goodwin has some 'vendetta' against Wats are deluded. He is a serial under-performer who has chosen his level of commitment to professionalism. That level is unacceptable. Posters that think Jack has to be treated with kid gloves and 'positive reinforcement' are crazy. Talent only gets you so far. Unprofessional players in a club are like a cancer. Watts' finishes in the B&F: 2016 5th 2015 18th 2014 4th 2013 11th 2012 16th 2011 9th 2010 25th You could mirror the arguments about Sylvia. The club has done the right thing. And if Watts stays and commits to becoming a great player then everyone will be happy. If he goes and we get a good draft pick/player in return then I for one will be happy.

I never said players don't have weaknesses. Don't make stuff up because it suits you. The players I mentioned give their all every time they run on to the ground. Did you want to dispute that? Same can't be said for Jack.

We're supporters. The club, its coaches and heirarchy hopefully have a better handle on their emotions than some on here. Its blindingly obvious that the club has run out of patience with Jack. A 150 game player getting dropped doesn't tell you something? He is unreliable and can't be trusted to perform consistently. It is almost unanimous that he has elite talent but that talent is next to useless unless it can be honed into consistent, dedicated footballer. Sylvia had talent to burn. So what. Wasted 10 years with him. Viney, Hibberd, Jones, Oliver are a few that perform consistently. You know that they will give week in week out. No-one can say that of Jack Watts sadly.

Has a good tank and is a smart footballer. If he can improve his skills he will become a pretty valuable player.

Kicks a great barrel

Hasn't missed a game in 5yrs. Better than garland and could give us a great defence and allow Oman to grow in the twos...
-
His best footy is excellent. We just haven't seen it enough and the coaches see that he isnt dedicated to becoming an elite player. which bit don't you get?

Irony not your strong suit?
-
I thought he was about buses, you know ...the reality ones
-
Deer in the headlights with poor intensity, strength, decision making and one on one capability. Improved this year but a long way to go.
-
Some of the stuff here is ridiculous. Watts is a perennial underperformet. He can't be relied upon. The club knows it.his teammates know it. He is a good bloke but the won't cut it any more. A good sign for a maturing team. the club has all the info on his work rate and intensity. They know what they are doing with this wake up call.

No MFC listed player wants to win the b n f in the 2nds. It means they aren't playing in the ones..

The award that no-one wants to win.......the Casey b&f
-
His stats in our losses are the clue. Doesn't work hard enough. overates his own ability trying to pinpoint passes in the corridor. Cannot kick goals. Lost count of the east clutch goals he misses. Bye Dean.

Now that Adelaide and Richmond are in the GF I am even more livid about our pathetic capitulation in the final round. we can beat both of those teams. We will rue this unbelievable lost opportunity.

Not necessarily. You don't know what he might be traded for. I'm not against trading anyone if its an upgrade but you do have to be careful about tearing the fabric of the club. Particularly after what we have been through.
-
The AFL will make it up as they go along. What are they going to do? As if they will penalise the Cats. Won't happen.
-
I'm not hitching my wagon just suggesting that he is somewhat forgotten and can play a decent HF role. Not similar to Vanders at all.
-
Credibility just went from below average to zero.

Without wanting to rake over old coals was Green shunted for the 186 debacle?

Great minds....
