Should O.Mac and JKH Play A Game For The Dees Again?
jnrmac replied to WERRIDEE's topic in Melbourne Demons
We should draft Zac Dawson to replace Oscar. He would still be better than Oscar. -
-
But everyone here (except maybe STMJ) said Oscar was going to be AA this year What a far king joke.
-
Oscar has to go. He is a poor man's Zac Dawson. I'd try Keilty. He has some physical presence. Our defence is the same it has been all year against the better sides. Too easy to score against. Some refuse to see it. 8 goals straight in the last qtr. FMD what a pathetic effort. Who cares if we make finals. We will be making up the numbers with a defence like ours. Roos must be cringing at how easy we are to score against. Tyson did nothing. JKH same. Bugg and anyone for mine, hopefully Hibberd. Great game by Harmes.

2 lost games these [censored]. Both decided by kicks after the siren. [censored].

What a pissweak defensive effort. Hang your heads in shame.
-
That wouldn't hurt us,,,,

My predictions that Harry Taylor won't touch the ball today.......
-
That would be worse than listening to the Perth stations broadcast an Eagles game......

Every rule change over a 20 year period was designed to speed up the game. Interchange is the one that allows players to run all day. Keep reducing it. Don't listen to the coaches as they have never been interested in the look of the game. Less interchange and you will have less congestion. personally I'd be happy with 10 per quarter. And get rid of the other non-playing people on the ground clogging up space. Runners - gone. Yesterdays relic and entirely unecessary. Water carriers - only allowed on field after a goal. Problem solved.
-
From that article: "the key to beating the Cats in Geelong might be slow ball movement and disciplined man-on-man positioning by forwards." The exact opposite of the way we play. Great.
-
Runners should be outlawed full stop. They are a blight on the game. I can't think of any other game where people run on/off the field like AFL. International vistors always comment on it - 'who are those guys out there!' They block space, tell players how long left in a quarter and basically coach from on ground. It'stotally ridiculous. Get rid of them. It's a relic from another age when communications were not there, we had captain/coaches and no interchange. I'll make an exception for water carriers because players do run a lot and the carriers I think are only allowed on after a goal is scored or other break in play...

You mean like 'win this game (rd 23) and we'll be in finals'. Dream on, he doesn't do motivational. He likes a narrative you know. And process. And BTW the media are right. We haven't beaten one team in the current eight. A bit like Port last year...

Daniel Menzel loves playing Melbourne......... Why are there insane restrictions on image file sizes, anyone?
-
Well done Fonzie, I was w-w-w-wr-wro.........!

His long, low, flat kicks are a delight to watch. Terrific player with great skills. My only (minor) knock is his one on one form where he can try too much to do the body thing rather than just go straight for the ball. Great first goal last week. Beautiful clean pick up and dribble kick on his wrong side. Also very happy that the Bomber wing nuts who used to jump down his throat regularly must now be grinding their teeth at what a weapon he is..for us!
-
You'd be kidding with that.
-
Menzel always kills us. Geelong have had a late out almost every week (very tricky that Chris Scott) so expect another one or even two. Hopefully its Danger and Menzel.
-
What a load of bollocks. They do what they want. Its a farce.
-
Sounds like it......one of the problems having a young captain that they feel pressured to play...
-
Thanks Capt Obvious

Viney said his toe was sore before the Freo game but wanted to see how he pulled up afterwards....
-
How about we just copy Richmond's Doctors....
-
Frost played a reasonable game. His speed, height, strength and reading of the play were pretty good. Had a couple of brain snaps but nothing like you are suggesting. Last time we played Geelong, the cats ran Hawkins up the ground with Oscar following. The were trying to expose Lever one on one and largely succeeded. OMac hardly saw the ball because Hawkins was hopeless away from goal. I suspect our back six structure will be a little better drilled this time around despite the loss of Lever and Hibberd and won't be sucked into moving out of shape as much.

I say bring in bugg to tag Selwood and put Harmes in defence. Tyson to replace Hannan.
