  2. Got me thinking - conventional thinking has Watts returning, probably Pederson as well and Spencer goes out with young Weed to allow the mature body shapes in and have Pedders snd Watts do the chop out ruck. I'm now thinking after the weekend its only Watts for Weed. Spencer stays if his form stays and it works with Maxy 'resting' forward (hardly a rest but then again he rucks a whole game anyway) when Spencer is on. We are then a reliant on the mid sized Petracca, vanders and Brayshaw types to clunk a few as well - doesn't seem to be an issue atm though Just watching on tv i think the Weed needs to get hungry, just seems not quite ready to own a patch of the 50. More bulk more aggression and more hunger and he'll get there and dominate. However the brains trust end up working the wonderful dilemma of fitting blokes in is going to be interesting to say the least. Going to be some very good footballers playing VFL this year. Is this what they mean as..... depth?? If it is i like it
  3. harsh man there skuit debuted in 97! Averaged 11 in his debut year. Gathered 19 in the GF that year... was a good snippet of what followed Ave 14 in his 2nd year, however won his 2nd premiership in tbat year too! Backwards a little 3rd year (12 touches) but heck so did the crows - finished with us near the bottom that year - they weren't good at all then. From then on averaged about 20+
  4. Really Dazzle ... you had no idea about him!! I am absolutely gobsmacked by this. He was (and is) one of the all time greats of the league. Super player from the minute he joined the big league. We are absolutely blessed to have him on board. Not only talented but worked his bum off to get there as well! He was mentored to the minute by Ricciuto in his early days. Deadset Gun.
  5. Yes yes they are. The committee are over the moon, along with picking up Andrew Lovett as well
  6. After reading that above... could have sworn i was reading an article obout Cyril Rioli's time ar Scotch. hopefully a small forward with a similar transition at Scotch might just might go alright
  7. Could have sworn we would would take McInerney here and if not him brayshaws little bro.
  8. Looking like a man now instead of a whippet! looks like muscle bulk - if he can maintain his pace with the extra size.... wowee! Only concern would be hamstrings with the extra size and his pace - dean kent i'm looking at you.

  13. Finally a mad Demon supporter (and Demon supporting Family) has made it in via trade - awesome change from Judd, Buddy etc.....
  14. Wowy won the brownlow as a run with type player - he tagged the oppositions best player and out ran them and beat them. He then turned form the 'tagger' to the 'tagged' and was never the same. He became a liability with being one of the highest paid players at the club yet finishing awfully in the (out of the top 10) B and F. Turns out he wasn't quite as good at getting the ball without being led to it. No shame in that just how it was. Was one my favs at his best. The club did the right thing by him and the club getting him a new start
  15. 500k Vickery, 600k mitchell 700k O'meara..... Cap space issues!!!!!!!! plus older boys not happy about them having held out on bigger deals to keep the gang together for the Johnny come lately's to earn more than the reigning B+F........
  16. kinda don't get the draft for the interstate teams - its a state based thing so GWS get NSW/ACT players, Brisbane get QLD players, adelaide SA and FReo get WA players. The only ones who need a draft are the victorian girls to be split up between the 4 vic clubs. all the non selected girls become free agents and can go to the club/state of choice if there are still spots available
  17. The issue is Mcqueen our first is likely to be in the 3rd round given that hibberd is most likely going to cost our 2nd. Really we've got no currency to get back in earlier without trading out required players. They have a surplus of them and are likely to get more - we can get back in this year if we do it again. Don't really care about them other than being in a position to help us out or you wait till next years crop for the our first rounder likely to be around the 10 to 15 mark - (hopefully 18!!!)
  18. Just thinking out loud - GC have a bevy 1st rounders that they're looking to do things with. One of those things needs to be to postpone one to next year to spread. Our next year first for one of their this years first rds would absolutely perfect
  19. Wonder if Clarko will blame inexperience again like he did after losing to us....
  20. Woof woof Enjoy the slippery slide with Nth Melb. Era over. Old blokes fully cooked now.
  21. The apples were big then too Moony -White was very much an undersized ruck, but had a phenomenal leap to get over the big boys. Just used the example as saying at 6'4 or 5 jack is definitely tall enough to compete woth the part timers - not saying he should ho toe to toe with mumford for example - unless its one of those situations where it just happens once a game. But his mobility and body awareness will hold him in good stead against the part time rucks. Between him and a more lumbering Pedersen type who is a full inch shorter than jack he is a far far better option and one that will get better with time and bulk. My thoughts are it has and will continue to jelp his game as opposed to hinder it and we are better if he does it with hogan and a 3rd tall (weed or other) than a less mobile traditional fwd/ruck type. I think we will continue to disagree on this and thats ok
