  1. Another week, another post where someone is upset with something in the media 🙄.
  2. BLWNBA replied to binman's topic in Melbourne Demons
This is hilarious and on that note, happy Friday.
  3. Chip Frawley.
  4. I might be in the minority here, but I actually think the opposite. The more success he has at the Dees, the more likely he is to leave and the easier it will be to depart. I absolutely hope he stays, he’s a genuine generational player, but if he was lucky enough to get two (hell, maybe I’ll dream and say 3), I could easily see him leaving Melbourne for the lure of cash back home.
  5. The etymology of what you’re saying is correct regarding the APS, but none of 11 member schools refer to themselves as being ‘public’ as the UK equivalents do. All 11 member schools are classed as independent and contextually are ‘private schools’, using the ordinarily accepted wording.
  6. Beyond amazing - do we have a Lizard King incarnate at the Dees? Feeling Dogga gives off some serious psychedelic 1960s/1970s vibes.
  7. You and I obviously view 9.17 very differently, particularly contextualised against the last 10 minutes of the game. I don't call having 26 scoring shots and walking away 9 point winners as 'unlucky'. If they conceded those I50s against a more experienced side, albeit with the scoring shots that they had, they wouldn't've won that game. One man's lucky is another man's unlucky.
  8. Swans absolutely s**t the bed. I'd be filthy if I was a supporter and had to endure that ball use, it was beyond embarrassing. Given the seniority of some of their players, I would expect a lot more against a maligned side like the Dogs had tonight. The Dogs were lucky to win, but no doubt they'll get their tails up with some manufactured and over-engineered "us against the world, the AFL hates us, blah blah blah" rhetoric.
  9. Telecast begins at 6.30PM on Fox.
  10. Regardless of the outcome of the match tonight, I'm still not overly convinced of the credentials of either of these sides. The (likely) result has cemented that the Dogs are the biggest down hill skiers in the league. Most of their players are frontrunners and frankly they're a bunch of prima donnas. Sydney have a lot of talent but are young. I suspect their season will be up and down and whilst they'll make the 8, they have a while to go before they seriously challenge.
  11. Absolutely - it also generally takes a player of the contest which is my frustration. Spargo seemingly isn't constantly favoured by the umpires either (i.e Weightman).
  12. To be fair, Spargo does this a lot too - but he plays for us ;)
  13. Led by the poster boy, Cody Weightman
  14. I am so glad to see the Bulldogs back to their one-way-running best. #Freekickbulldogs
  15. No, I wouldn’t be satisfied. Contextually we have the best chance of winning a premiership in almost 6 decades. So I won’t be happy walking away with a participation ribbon. Don’t celebrate ‘almost’.
  16. Agree. I’d actually have Sydney as our toughest and best opposition we’ve played this year. It was great to come away with the win and was a great contest. The amount of people disrespecting Sydney and belittling them, particularly over Facebook, is absurd.
  17. Harmes for Sparrow. Unfortunately for Harmes he’s a liability. He mad some atrocious errors at some pivotal times in the game and how he was rewarded ahead of Sparrow is beyond me. I’d rather Jones out there, he offers more and his form has overwhelming been better. I understand it won’t happen, but that’s what I’d like to see.
  18. I read a lot of Demonology during the early 2000s - approx 2008 as it was one of the only footy forums I could access on my school computers. Yze_Magic and Range Rover were my favourites, from memory there was also a ‘Hightower’ too, unless that was on here? I had no idea about the coup business, that’s unbelievable, it sounds farcical at best! I’m somewhat disappointed I missed out on that.
  19. Great read and thanks for the report. For those that attended, did ANB play in the blue team? I’m glad to hear Spargo had continued his form of last year too. He did some nice things last year and was unfairly in and out of the team at times. Seems he isn’t one of Goodwin’s favourites. On the other side though is Harmes. Disappointing to hear he looked a mile off. If he has another year like last he could very quickly become surplus to our needs, with a lot of like-for-like players.
  20. The Match Centre back in those days was pretty cool, albeit clunky. I remember being a young 12 year-old and I was amazed by the graphic which showed a 'dot' for a player which would link up with a second 'dot/player' and showed the movement of the ball on the ground. Good times.

I think his inability to hit a target ('teammate') is a bigger concern. His performance has always been overinflated due to how terrible we've been. Now that he has somewhat decent players around and a couple of midfield jets, in Oliver and Brayshaw, his true skill and worth is merely viewable. Genuinely have similar thoughts on Viney. He's a terrible user of the ball and seems to lack many footy smarts. If he wasn't blessed with the surname he is, I doubt many supporters would have the love and devotion to him that we currently see.

This pretty much mirrors my views. As a supporter, whilst being purely speculative, I believe ANB will stick around. From all reports (interweb postings) he appears to know his place in the MFC pecking order but wants to earn his spot. I'd also easily have him ahead of Michie, Newton and Terlich and should remain as a depth player (at worst). Trengove I'd probably rookie, similar to what we did with Jetta. It gives us a way to promote him, without having to cost us a spot on the senior list. Sure, he's coming from a long way back, but I have a belief he may be able to return. But who knows, maybe this is just MFC rose coloured glasses. Only time will tell. Terlich, Newton and Michie surely have played their last games. Grimes? I'm not too sure about him, I suspect he'll be on an AFL list next year, it just remains to be seen where. I wouldn't be entirely upset if he was to remain, but depending what sort of player we could replace him with, if he were to leave it may be for the best. Garland and Dunn are interesting too. IIRC Dunn has a year to run on his contract, given that, I suspect he may stay around. He's of fairly little currency. But that places Garland in an interesting position too. I can't see both of them being on our list next year.
