Perhaps an alternative way to understand is to think of an extreme case. What would happen to our percentage if the score today was a ridiculous 5001 points to 5000, a score totally dominating all the points scored for and against earlier in the year? Then your percentage is (5001+a relatively tiny bit) divided by (5000+ another tiny bit) which is close to 5001/5000 =near as dammit to 1. And so your percentage heads towards 100% no matter where it started. So your percentage can go down even if you win - unless you win by enough. And similarly if you have a bad percentage and lose in a very high scoring match, it is possible your percentage can rise despite the loss.

Search for vfl. It isn’t a freebie because they have 3 other matches this week.

Well I've tried calling the Spanish flu the American flu but no one listens. As you probably know that is where it likely originated but was hushed up by the allies and German governments for wartime public morale . Spain made the mistake of being neutral and not hiding it.

Pretty good telecast. Thanks Richmond. But what’s with the big red button at the top of the screen? Thankfully it seems to have now gone.
-
I'd add that rather than wait till someone's form drops, they may be waiting to play a worse team (like North) before they dare change the mix.
-
It's not just the Dogs (though they have taken it to extremes). Most of the momentum the ball gets comes from the hand supposedly holding the ball, very little if any from the fist that hits it.

https://www.richmondfc.com.au/news/918705/vfl-live-stream-richmond-v-casey Their web site is just like the AFL one. Yuk.

Listening to the TV commentators, it seems the AFL establishment are happy with throws because it speeds up the game. So we can expect the rule soon to be changed to allowed to throw the ball as long as you use 2 hands when throwing.

or hit them on the nose with a rolled up newspaper

Him and Leigh Mathews often say things that indicate that they don’t know the rules. You’d think that would be a basic part of the job.

Will probably be on kayo freebies too in R3. Kayo is only doing 3 VFL matches each round (which may explain the sudden disappearance of the Casey-Box hill match from their listings last week).

I also dislike these nicknames. But I make an exception for Essendon. The other names have no real proven basis and so are pretty silly, but not so with Essendon.

It seems a long while since there were threads about Jones not getting to 300. Easy as.

It was a great relief at the GWS game in Manuka that the loudspeakers didn't seem to be working properly on the visitors' side of the ground so the level of loud drivel was much lower than usual. Maybe we need to start a chant of 'shut up' whenever the AFL's drones start their artificial atmosphere.

To use 7 plus on a web browser in a state where it is not on live tv outside Vic create an account with a Melbourne postcode and use a geolocation add on to the browser to enter melb latitude and longitude. Clear all cookies first. No need for VPN Allow 7plus to see your “location” sadly doesn’t work for AFL games as they don’t put that on the net anywhere
-
hmmm, the Casey match seems to have disappeared from the list of freebies for today. Could it be because it is on free to air in Melb?
-
you forgot fingernail.

Sorry if this has been posted earlier/elsewhere: Kayo are offering VFL games free on the kayosports.com/freebies You have to set up an account but no credit cards needed. I think an old trial kayo account will also work.

The broadcast guide is still on daylight savings. Must be a saving on electricity for night games.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
sue replied to DemonLad5's topic in Melbourne Demons
I haven’t reviewed the video so have no opinion on the incident. But with a record like he has it is perfectly reasonable for his actions to be closely scrutinised. -
Well that's better than actually giving Brisbane a free for the Bulldogs player showing insufficient intent of keeping it in. But that is exactly what he did - clearly he showed insufficient intent to keep it in (though not responsible for the motion of the ball). But it does not change the Brisbane player's "intent" if an opponent could have kept it in but didn't. So as unsual for the AFL, the terminology of rules is imprecise as well as being cringeworthy as Nasher said.
-
Are they awarding frees for insufficient intent when a player lets a ball kicked by an opponent go out rather than try to pick it up?
-
Didn't Goodwin say he'd play 3 quarters today?
-
Yes, it wasn't about difficult shots. It was about developing your set shot kicking technique. My point is that you first should develop your set shot kicking in perfect conditions so you know when what you are doing is wrong and can't mentally blame the wind etc or be uncertain as to the cause of your miss. Then practice in all conditions to learn how to deal with wind, rain etc. I'll try not to post on this again.....
-
I agree. But no point in practising difficult shots before you get the fundamentals right.
