  1. When considering points value, that's only if you assume you trade such picks later on. If we are left with picks 29 + 50 come draft time (even though same points value as pick 20), they are ages behind pick 20.
  2. We traded Toumpas + Howe for Kennedy + 29 + 50 Some might not agree but Toumpas = Kennedy (both have not been as successful as first hoped). Neither a good/bad deal for us so break-even. That leaves Howe for 29 + 50. We come out behind on that trade. But as Mahoney alluded to...... “By packaging up the Howe and Toumpas trades, it has allowed us to get the best overall net outcome for the club. It also gives us the picks needed to facilitate further trades before Thursday’s trade deadline.” maybe we can get Bugg for pick 46 + 50 (lol). It all but rules us out of trying to get an additional first round pick.
  3. If we were to end up with 2 top 10 picks come draft time, we simply must take Weideman with one of them. Hogan needs another decent KPF for support.
  4. I'd rather bring in Weideman and Curnow with picks 6&8, than Parish with pick 3.
  5. Why do we seem to be so red-hot for Parish? Anyone?
  6. Probably more likely to get Curnow and Weideman. Francis probably gone by our first pick.
  7. Jay Clark, lol. Bodes well for us i guess!
  8. If we are able to bring in pick 8 somehow through trades, we could use picks 6 & 8 in the draft on Curnow and Weideman respectively. Also including trading in players such as Melksham, Bugg and Kennedy would see it as a decent trade period for us (8 & Bugg for the most part).
  9. Yes remember it very well, it was Saturday night, not as well as i remember us drafting Cook at 12 in the 2010 draft when Darling was still on the board (or anyone else for that matter).
  10. When was the last time the filth gave up anything of worth in a trade that went on to be a success? If Kennedy is not involved as part of the Howe deal (nor should he be), we should just give the bird to the Pies and tell Howe it's going to be GC or the draft. GC was looking good to Howe a week ago, why is it unappealing all of a sudden?? FIGJAM and McChins can GAGF, Howe too for that matter given the way he and his manager have tried to play us, but before he does he can get us something decent in return.
  11. Is anyone able to get through that stupid HS block for the article 'Power move for Demon wingman'? Would mostly be speculation, but a good read none-the-less
  12. I reckon a deal like Melksham + their 2nd round pick = our 2nd round pick + 3rd round pick.
  13. Bill Lawry on 12th man comes pretty close. Bill: It's not a bad idea when you think about it Richie: Yes it is Bill, it's a [censored] bad idea Bill: Oh, Yeah now that you think about it Richie: And Hansie Cronje is just as bad an idea Tony: Bloody oath it is Bill: Stupid selectors Richie: Why on earth would they be considering those 2 Bill: It's stupid Rich, ridiculous, completely lacking in logic
  14. Hate to reign on your parade rat, but Al is correct. 2013 was Mark Neeld (ok so less than a year), 2014/2015 makes it 2 under Roos, Stone was a part of the coaching group for 2014, and both Goodwin and McCartney signed on at the end of last year.
  15. Agree, don't know why, but Gaff seems to underwhelm me (even with the season he has had).
  16. The Hawks have a massive membership because they were so successful during the 80's that tonnes of people barracked for them, now the next generation are enjoying similar success. We'll never have such supporter numbers because we have been so unsuccessful for so long. In fact the majority of our members would be aging given most started supporting the club during it's period of dominance over half a century ago.
  17. That's just a bluff though. All this chest-beating by their CEO Fagan about best deal for the club, then to let him go for nothing
  18. Mate, the bloke hasn't been cited in over 2 millennia. Not interested in blokes who go missing for such long periods of time.
  19. That and he's got 2 (i presume). He can afford to give one up. He'd also halve his chances of developing testicular cancer too!
  20. Stuff the house at Altona (nothing against Altona, very nice spot), he could buy himself a yacht and sail it to Mogs Creek. When he gets tired of sailing, he could fly his Cessna he could afford to his family home and land on a makeshift runway!
  21. So do you see Corowa as North Wahgunyah, or Wahgunyah as South Corowa?
  22. Good! I like that we don't leak like a sieve anymore.
  23. I'd have him ahead of Jones too, JKH when in form he is not ahead of, and no way is he ahead of Kent when injury-free. I see him as a serviceable contributor, but in a couple of years we will be calling for him to be cut. Similar to the likes of Jones, Terlich, etc etc
  24. Agree. He is a better grab than Dawes, maybe not as prolific a goal-scorer, but Dawes has been very poor in that regard this year. What's more, Pedersen not only uses his body well in contests, but if he doesn't mark it he at least brings the ball to ground. On top of that, he can pinch hit in the ruck and is a better swing-man than Dawes could ever be. I know who i'd be selecting first to line-up next to Hogan, when both are fit.
