Road to the draft with Jason Taylor
Funny thing is, he'd rate himself a 10/10 for doing his job effectively. A more pompous Peter Bell. He even puts FIGJAM to shame.

2019 Player Reviews: #41 Jay Lockhart
He could be an absolute dynamo in the forward line crumbing the packs and applying pressure.

and how many flags can we attribute to this policy?

he'd love it. an early trip back home.

2020 AFL Fixture
Exactly right DNIMD. Would we rather lose a game at the G we are hopeful of winning, or lose one interstate where no-one gives us a chance. The way i see it, we have a free-hit with this one. No pressure, no expectations (though i'd hate to think what would happen should we get absolutely pumped). Go over there and get a win, our season is starting to look a whole lot brighter.

Hasn't won them a flag yet though SONS.

That is correct. The only way they get Green and a top 10 pick is if no one bids on Green until after their first pick.
-
Brodie Kemp (drafted by Carlton)
Even less of an issue for us, given that we have no first rounder next year. Very few have an impact year 1 like a Selwood or Walsh (don't even think Cripps or Fyfe were that much chop in year one).
-
Hayden Young (Drafted by Fremantle)
Most left footers are notoriously bad when it comes to kicking on their right foot. Young will be known for his left foot kicking prior to playing a single game. I'm not wanting his right to be even considered as 'good', but he needs to be able to use his right foot to get himself out of trouble, or he'll be found out pretty quickly.

Hayden Young (Drafted by Fremantle)
It doesn't matter which team drafts him, such is his kicking he'd be just about best in any team.

Splitting Draft Pick 3
Agree he is too safe with his kicking.

Depends on what year he was felled
-
Hayden Young (Drafted by Fremantle)
Young is as worthy as anyone else to go at pick 3. What is clear is that the top 2 are clear of the pack (at this stage), but Young is indeed a worthy #3. I just hope that Kemp is available at pick 8 (if we hold on to the pick).

Must've been in a good paddock the past 2 weeks. https://www.afl.com.au/news/2019-10-24/class-of-2019-will-gould

Gould would spend his first year at the club on weight watchers. 192cm and 106kg ???

5 Demons to watch in 2020
Not player related, but my #1 Demon to watch next year is Simon Goodwin.
-
Brodie Kemp (drafted by Carlton)
I dare say that Gawn had a worse knee before and after coming onto our list, yet he's turned out to be a half decent pick up. Seriously @olisik a little optimism may do you the world of good.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
At 198cm he is somewhat undersized as a ruckman (though Brodie Grundy is only 5cm taller). I'd hope his agility and athleticism would help him get around the ground. Lots of possibilities with our picks.
- Poll: Who do you want with our first two picks?
-
Cody Weightman (Drafted by Western Bulldogs)
only to fist the ball into the goal square for the easiest of goals
-
Jack Martin
or maybe put it towards trying to pry a half decent FA next year
-
Who’s the next great indigenous small forward?
An interesting question. Who would people consider to be the best small forward of all time, indigenous or not? Daicos (is he considered small?), KB, Matthews, Phil Matera, Cyril, Betts, Tiprat (god forbid)?
-
Cody Weightman (Drafted by Western Bulldogs)
If JT' is consistent in his mantra of drafting best available, then Weightman @ pick 8 will not occur.
-
Jack Martin
Agreed, Martin would never put himself in a situation where he is close to a contested ball.
-
Hayden Young (Drafted by Fremantle)
Seems we like seeing the same type of physicality in our players' @stevethemanjordan
