  1. Hopefully the Dockers get up over St Kilda today. Then we can watch Essendon play for their spot. Their fans will be sweating bullets. Just a pity they’re playing Collingwood who are absolutely no good - hopefully the pies decide to play out of their skin to deny their arch rivals a finals berth. If St Kilda win, Pies and Bombers is a dead rubber.
  2. Hmm. I’m a little bit worried I might have done permanent damage to my larynx last night. Speaking this morning hurts. Oh well, add it to the list of valiant casualties to the greater good, along with @picket fence’s laptop.
  3. Anyone got a link to the Trac interview?
  4. My daughter did video mine and it’s now on Facebook getting all the lols. My arse crack is visible in one. Don’t even care. I’m hoarse.
  5. I love this club and I love all you bastards. Holy cow. I am absolutely reeling. That was just the best.
  6. Yep. I reckon selection was bold. I think it would have been “safe” to keep Melksham and Hibberd and drop Sparrow and Smith - in fact it’s what I suggested in the changes thread. Goody is all in, hopefully the team is too.
  7. I just want to finish on top. I know it’s meaningless, it’s not the goal, rah rah. I just think it’s a nice little nod for consistently being the best team across the season. Then we can move on to working towards the bigger and better prize.
  8. Winner finishes top and play Bulldogs or Brisbane at “home”, loser finishes third and goes to Adelaide to meet Port. Massive, massive stakes here, but I reckon we’re up for it. Can’t wait til tonight.
  9. Name them. I’ll buy a ticket with them and report back.
  10. Doesn’t Viney have another week? Edit: nope.
  11. Out: Smith, Jordon, Sparrow In: May, McDonald, Viney
  12. Loved that. Wasn’t pretty, but ticked all the boxes IMO. Kicked goals against the run of play in the first, weathered the challenge in the third and buried them when they put up the white flag in the last. Very content with that performance. Did what we had to. Bring on the minor premiership battle next week.
  13. Pretty confusing stat, certainly not helped by the misuse of the word “lost” where they really mean “missed”. I thought it meant “lost” as the opposite of “won”, which was pretty darn confusing initially.
  14. If it wasn’t captured on video it would be hard to prosecute this. At face value though it looks identical to what Viney was hanged for.
  15. Absolutely love this. Adam Tomlinson Back Running
  16. @Pollyannahas been sitting on that one for about 10 years 😂

This is arguing about which player keeps the spot warm for the few we’ve got out. And this week it’ll probably be neither of them.
  18. Let’s not be too harsh on Sam Blease. Not his fault he was drafted in to a basket case. Don’t think any of the kids of that era stood much chance, honestly. But yes, Bowey did make me think back to Blease. Probably just the red hair though. Blease was a bit bigger and had a fair bit more toe from memory. Love that turn out of traffic though. Great agility, burst of speed, and the guts to try it in the first place.
  19. It’s so disheartening that every time we lift the lid on racism, scumbags start coming out of the woodwork. We have such a long way to go.
  20. I honestly spent half the telecast thinking Leppitsch was Tim Watson, ergo I ignored everything he said. They sound exactly the same.
  21. Now that the adrenaline has worn off, I’m feeling super content with last night’s match. The post-lightning play has all but been erased from my memory. That is an exceptional circumstance that will probably never happen again that was an absolute gift for our opposition, in fact Adam Simpson described it as divine intervention. Before the break we absolutely had our foot on their throats. We have heavily relied on superior fitness all year and West Coast looked dead on their feet. It was always going to be extremely difficult to keep the boys “up” for half an hour, and a 30 minute break during the last quarter meant our chief advantage was lost. West Coast are a good team and threw caution to the wind. We’re in an exciting place. The third quarter and pre-break last quarter were pure dominance, against a good side, in extremely hostile conditions. If it wasn’t for a one in ten year freak event, we’d be talking about one of the greatest wins we’ve seen in our lives.
  22. He’s an absolute jet. For a small fella he’s tough, too. Wasn’t expecting him to just slot in and deliver from debut, but he has. Great stuff Jake.
  23. To be assessed on return to Melbourne with scans. I infer that to mean he’ll miss - ie it’s proper injured and not just precautionary.
  24. Agree. Vanders, Jordon, Sparrow and Melksham are the only players in the team whose positions are unstable IMO. Everyone else you could pretty much lock in for the rest of the year.
