No inside info Bigfooty poster reporting Jack will nominate Pies after best and fairest....
-
I see what you did there... #Salty

Haha this could get out of control very quickly #Flagsmattertoo

Fair enough mate, I don't know anyone in the media - I'm just going off the old saying never trust used car salesmen and the media
-
Nah @Chook in Perth seems like a good bloke, media fl0gs are scum
-
I see your point, but the club doesn't agree with you either. I'm not saying keeping JW is not what's best for the club, I'm saying that the decision makers have the proper information to make the decision and I am backing their decision. There is as much chance it is the wrong decision as the right decision. But we won't know until it happens. And if it is the wrong decision then they'll get fired. We and the club will live on. For me personally I don't care who plays for the MFC as long as they give 100% and the team is all on the same page.
-
True - we'd be pretty bored if we had to just comment on facts. My whole point has been, I am backing the decision makers who know the internal workings. I agree we can speculate on decisions, but the FD have been pretty spot on with moves for the past 3 years. I am backing them.
-
100% agree, but again it depends on the reasons and results. Take dusty as a perfect example. If Hogan and Watts leave and then we make finals, what you've said is pointless. But if we fall on our a$$ then you a probably 100% correct. It's a huge risk no doubt, but IMO we have to back the people in charge to make the right decisions and do the best with what they have at their disposal. Since Mahoney, Viney, Taylor and co have been appointed to the club it has been all positive, so I am backing them in.
-
I hear what you're saying Sue, but unless you know the facts there is no point any of us commenting. For all we know Jones could have told Goody he wanted Watts moved on because he wouldn't adhere to the leadership group.... (I've made that up, but just pointing out we don't know the facts). The problem here is there are 2 sides. One strongly believes in protecting Watts the other wants what is best for the club. There is no right or wrong, the club isn't going to die, it's a tough decision and personally I've backed in the people in the know to make the correct decisions. The little bits of honesty we get in the media from the players I really enjoy
-
Apparently if your aunty has balls she's your uncle. Until Jesse request a trade, what your saying is stupid. I find the whole commentary stupid and not very well thought out. If Hogan is upset with the club trading Watts has he made his feelings known to the club? How is Hogan moving to WA bringing Watts closer to him? Watts isn't exactly dead, it's not like they can't speak to each other ever again if Watts does leave. And let's assume your correct (I'm not saying there is no truth to what you're saying, but until we get an official request from Hogan it is pure speculation). Right now Hogan is at his highest value to us, so we would be very well compensated. I don't care if Watts or Hogan leave - I only care about the 22 who run out in rd 1 2018
-
You might be right, I was just replying to your comment about Jones not being allowed to comment on Watts. I agree all this probably shouldn't be made public, but he was asked a direct question and mugs like me who have no idea what's happening inside the MFC appreciate the honesty. TBH I'm not going to comment on Jones's leadership as I really have no idea
-
We are going to have to get used to this every year
-
Mate you need to let it go. Jones has every right to comment on players... He's the captain, he's meant to set standards and enforce them.
-
I should look it up before making calls, but didn't we have our biggest wins of the year without Jesse and a mobile forward line?
-
Does Mrs Redleg know about this waitress Redleg??? Haha joking mate
-
The problem with the Hogan rumours are he is contracted. So if he requests a move it's going to cost Freo a lot. I thought this news would excite some ppl here as well. Didn't we play better without Hogan last year?

I wonder if this acquisition would make someone like Dom Tyson nervous about keeping his spot?? Time will tell. Dom gets a lot of the ball but seems to waste it a lot -

Haha I'm not sure if you're arguing for me or against me....... That is a joke but in all seriousness if you believe Watts was anything more then a 3rd tall your who struggled to win his own ball you're kidding yourself I have no argument that he is a good ball user and is quick. But they are pointless attributes if you can't get the ball in the first place. Ballic like Watts are hopefully cream in a good team - hence my refrence But I am messing around a bit, Wattsy is much loved, Ballic most likely won't achieve much. -

Zero chance Balic is worth a 3rd or late 4th rounder Hogan is worth pick 3 and Neale -
I have not problems with your points mate, and to be honest we are both just speculating. Outside the club for the past few years now (since Roos era) Mangers and others in the footy industry have praised the club in the media as being a good club to work at with good prospects. So we can safely assume the MFC is a good place to work. So that answers your Tigers reference. I've read the other opinions and it is a really tough decision. Jack is a really well loved player of the MFC, and there is no guarantee that we will be better off without him. But from my perspective you have to back the people you have in charge to do the best thing for the club. They have intimate inside knowledge, they have the plan, they are the ones who will be fired if the wrong decisions are made, At the end of that day we all support this club for different reasons, and none of those reasons are wrong. Personally, I want to see success, real sustained success in my lifetime. So I am backing In the FD on this tough decision, because they believe it will better the club. In reality I have no idea really what the right decision is, like you I am just hoping that it is the right decision.

Dare I say the new Watts? Couldn't have 2 in the team? -
Probably telling the wrong people isn't he? I love this dramatic bs printed by the papers - if a player leaves they're not dead, then can still talk to them and see them outside of football. And if he does decide to go back to WA how is he going to see Watts then? Stupid article is stupid... PS: I have no anger towards Watt's, and I will be sad to see another good bloke leave the club. But we have to be about winning flags as much as being a good place to work If he is gone, Good luck Wattsy, you will always be a much loved MFC loved player
