Trengove having a spell on the bench, a lot of rotations, seriously windy out there and the rain is making it tough condidtions....
-
Trengove kicks the ball for Sturts first inside 50..... Under pressure but managed to get his kick away.....
-
Jace Bode (Sturt) has not improved his skills over the years.... haha... shanked a kick in the centre and Glenelg rebound and kick their 2nd goal.... 14-0 so far 12 mins 1st qtr.... Trengove has been in the action a couple of times, a nice in and under handball.... Rain will be a massive factor... Will be interesting to see how he goes in the wet conditions.... Very physical start to the match
-
Glenelg dominating the first 7 minutes of the match.... Raining now.... Trengove clears with a nice right foot kick out of defence.... Certainly has a penetrating kick
-
Trengove starting in the middle.... Number 40 for anyone watching.... Was named on the bench....
-
Windy conditions, top of 18 degrees.... Probably some light showers.... First bounce seconds away

Peter German/our relationship with Casey
The Backyard Charizard replied to jayceebee31's topic in Melbourne Demons
Casey and Melbourne's relationship was definately strained towards the end of the season.... IMHO it cost Casey a real shot at the flag.... but next year will be a different story and I am sure that PG can see what an exciting list he will have to work with next season..... -

2009 Player Review - # 15 Ricky Petterd
The Backyard Charizard replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
A very important player for our future IMHO.... A strong mark, good defensive pressure as mentioned above and some real footy smarts..... A strong pre-season will do him wonders..... Look forward to watching him develop more next season -
I find it hard to believe this, coming from a virgin poster <Waits for further information from more reliable source> :D

Robbo sooks and speaks
The Backyard Charizard replied to The Great Pretender's topic in Melbourne Demons
The FD is finally ridding the club of the "Daniher, Let's all be best mates" culture that has existed for far too long.... Robbo, Yze and White were all having sleepovers at ND's place so he would pick them every weekend... DB has come in and has a plan.... His plan is actually working, contrary to what many may think..... He may not physically coach our next premiership side, but he will have had just as big a influence as the bloke who does! Robbo, get over yourself mate.... I loved you as a footballer, but this whole "sour grapes" stuff is just bull$hit!!! Your best football is way behind you and to make a stupid comment regarding White and Yze is just ridiculous.... The club gave you everything, and you gave the club everything..... The club deserves some respect! -
Living here in Adelaide, I will be keeping a keen eye on how he goes.... Will give you guys a run down after viewing the match I already have my mind made up on JT, but for all those doubters, I will re-assure you how good this kid is If we pass up on him the clubs recruiters have failed IMHO..... Better than Gibbs at this level!! And I have 10+ mates (some of which play SANFL) who agree
-
I think a lot of people on this forum are showing Aaron Davey a severe lack of respect if they are thinking he will leave the Demons.... Davey loves the club and is entrenched in the "brotherhood" culture up to his eyeballs..... He would be the last to leave! I believe if you are looking for another "big name" player to get traded, then look no further that Cameron Bruce.... And this is by no means a go at Cam.... I rate him quite highly.... But if he thinks he is going to be a walk up start next year he is kidding himself.... Unless he is prepared to move into the forward line....

Brock McLean has left the building
The Backyard Charizard replied to Yencks's topic in Melbourne Demons
Finally someone has injected some common sense into this thread.... I have moved house over the last week and have just had my broadband re-connected.... First thing I do (after checking emails) is straight onto DL.... Holy $hit Batman!!! I had no idea what had been happening over the last couple of days.... At first I was shocked.... Then I was angry.... Then after a few frothies and a good think, I am actually impressed with the way the club is heading..... Lack of emotion is a serious part of running a successfull business.... This would NEVER have happened in the ND dynasty! Don't bag DB until he has another season under his belt.... The club is making the tough decisions now.... Something it hasn't done for decades! Go Dees! -
Just thought I would throw in my opinion on the possibility of drafting JT. Having lived here in Adelaide for the best part of the last 5 years I can safely say that this kid is on equal terms with Gibbs for the best draft prospect I have seen in the SANFL. JT's skill and determination are awesome to watch live! I have a lot of close friends who are Sturt freaks and they are all saying one thing, "If you pass up on JT you are not a recruiters A-hole" The way he throws himself into packs and puts his head over the ball at the age of 18 against fully developed men is fantastic.... Balls of steel and skills either side of his body to match. Jack Watts, Jurrah & Co would be licking their lips at the prospect of getting the ball delivered to them off JT's boot (either boot). He runs and runs and runs all day.... Reminds me a lot of the T-1000 played by Robert Patrick in Terminator 2. The kid just won't go away! I have sang the praises of the MFC football department over the last 3 years and I trust that they will not let this gem be selected by any other team than Melbourne! Scully and Trengove.... OMG.... The joy this will bring over the next 10 years.... Go Dees!

Jim Stynes on Twitter They made mention of this on the footy show.... Garry Lyon said that Jim has been unable to respond to the thousands of well wishes he has had lately and this was the best way he could let everyone know how he is feeling on his recovery... Long live Big Jim!!! Go Dees!

How You Became A Melbourne Supporter :)
The Backyard Charizard replied to Wizza's topic in Melbourne Demons
No funny story with me.... The old man was a Dees supporter so I guess I was born into it... His story is quite funny though.... His whole family are one-eyed Colling%^* supporters.... When the old man was about 5 his mother and father took him to watch Collingwood V Melbourne at the MCG... I'm guessing it would've been about 1956-57... They had decked him out in a Pies scarf and beanie.... The old man had always had a fascination with fire trucks since he was old enough to crawl... He used to take this little red firetruck everywhere with him.... When they got to the ground for the big battle of the giants, he sat down at the fence with the oldies and watched Collingwood run out onto the ground... Everyone around him were cheering and going crazy like those ferals do... Then the Dees ran out.... The old man saw the red on the guernsey and all the red 'n blue floggers being waved.... Legend has it that he took his scarf and beanie off (much to the grandparents disgust) and starting waving his firetruck in the air.... There was nothing they could do.... "Firemen, Firemen, Firemen" he screamed.... You little beauty!!! Thank god for firetrucks!! Demons for life him and i.... and there aint a godamn thing anyone can do about it!!! Go Dees! -
Just did a quick calculation based on the ages on that list..... The average age of that list is 21 yrs and 18 days..... That is YOUNG!!! Throw in a couple of delistings/trades and then throw in our draft picks.... Holy hell we are a young side!!!
-
This might be seriously naive of me, but if it happened in a final is he still rubbed out of Charlie contention??? For a bloke who prides himself on some serious AFL knowledge, I can't believe I am asking this.... LOL
-
Go you Sainters..... Would love to see Adelaide roll Collingwood next week.... It would be a toss-up between 2 sides I really hate, but geez how can you go past watching Collingwood get rolled!!!!
-
Who have Adelaide beaten this year??? Let's have a look.... Rnd 1 they beat Collingwood by 4 points Rnd 3 beat Freo at Subi Rnd 5 beat us Rnds 9 - 15 they won 7 on the trot.... beating quality sides like Carlton, Hawthorn, Essendon, Kangas, Sydney, Richmond & Freo Rnd 17 they beat Port Rnds 20, 21, 22 they beat Hawthorn, West Coast and Carlton Now.... Let's have a look at some losses.... Saints smashed them twice Geelong smashed them at AAMI and then got over the line at KP Bulldogs, Brisbane and Collingwood also beat them As well as Port in the first showdown of the year And then the Crows play a home final against a side that hardly deserved to be in the eight..... haha.... The Crows have beaten no-one of significance this year apart from Collingwood in Rnd 1.... I live in Adelaide and I love reminding the fools here of these facts..... They think they are premiership favourites now..... They will get pumped next week at the MCG.... Damn I hate the Crows!!!
-
I think you may be laughing at your mate come this time next year.....
-
I believe "best available" will mean we get Scully and Trengove... IMHO it is not worth getting Butcher, because we already have Watts and Jurrah is coming along nicely....
