Agree 100% The Cats are a bit [censored] off at Blake for how he handled himself after the GF win.... His comments regarding Steven King etc... And Bomber Thompson has openly said that they are looking forward to The Mummy continuing to develop..... They rate him pretty highly down there...

I find it hard to believe that an announcement would be made on a Sat night or Sunday..... Doesn't this strike anyone as a strange time to announce something?? "you can expect an annoucement as soon as tonight or tomorrow morning. This is locked."

Played 50 games for Port.... Has kicked 76 goals Had a pretty big first year in 2007.... Where he played 16 games and kicked 34 goals..... But I still think this is not a good deal for Melbourne..... Unless Rivers is not as highly required/respected as I am made to be aware.... Port can keep their cult figure "The Hoff"

Justin is the older one..... The skinny lookin' geezer who never seems to shave properly.....

Bit of a coincidence this one..... Was working at a servo this morning (fixing their coolroom) and as I was getting some paperwork signed, a woman was waiting at the counter with 4 Adelaide Advertisers in her arms..... As I am a fairly "chatty" sort of bloke, I said to her "Geez.... You must really love reading!" Her reply was "My grandson wants a couple and I want one to keep as well.... They have the Sturt team photo in them.... My son is actually the coach" I said "Really, Give Luke my best wishes for Sundays GF and btw can I just say that I will be very excited if young Trengove gets picked up by Melbourne" Her reply, "Well I think you should get prepared to be excited!" This is all just too good to be true isn't it?!?!?! HaHa..... Jack Trengove..... You little beauty!!! Go Dees!

Big Jim.... The thoughts of myself, my family and all my friends are with you and your family..... If any man on this earth can beat this thing, it is you Jim Stynes! The man with a heart as big as Phar Lap.... Best wishes mate!

A mate of mine who played for Glenelg juniors with the likes of Gibbs and Sellar, he moved down from a station in central SA to go to boarding school and try and take himself to a serious football career.... He was actually invited to the draft camp that year, but his shoulder [censored] itself (for want of a better term) and he ended up having to have surgery.... A lot of problems with his shoulders after that pretty much ruined his career, only plays country footy now... But my point is that boys who move from the country to concentrate on their football careers in the city are desperate to succeed..... They couldn't give a toss where they play and in all honesty, He said that he would prefer to head to the heart of the footballing nation in Victoria.... Kids from the country just love their footy.... as do city kids, but country kids just have that something extra IMO...

Schwab on Twitter
The Backyard Charizard replied to The Backyard Charizard's topic in Melbourne Demons
It certainly does help you get on an AFL list when you can kick The game would really lose it's appeal if everyone only handballed..... -
Fev - Odds on of being fired today!
The Backyard Charizard replied to Grand New Flag's topic in Melbourne Demons
If Fev does get the ar$e, it will be pretty funny watching Carlton next season...... Judd gives it off to Murphy, Murphy looks inside 50, sees nothing on offer, short pass back to Judd..... Judd gives off the quick handball to the running Gibbs, Gibbs looks upfield and sees NOTHING on offer, quickly turns around and passes it 30m backwards to McLean, McLean drops the mark , but with poise regathers and gives off a pass to Judd again.... He looks further afield to see NO BLOODY OPTIONS WHATSOEVER, and in a panic he kicks it back into his own defensive area.... Bad mistake Juddy, not only don't you have any forwards, but your defence is also ratshit.... HAHAHA.... Will be so much fun :D -
Cameron wrote on Twitter this morning : "7am meeting of our List Management committee. Barry P presented on likely draft scenarios. Barely contain his excitement. Good operator." It's so nice to be able to get a few little bits of inside information from the inner sanctum.... Great work Cam....

HaHa.... There is only one draft pick who has me doing this.... And I think we all know who that is

Just thought I would let you know that here in SA, the media has gone ape$hit about JT..... His performance was quite staggering IMO On 5aa (sports show) Stephen Rowe started telling Graham Cornes how he thinks Trengove is as good as Gibbs, McLeod, Riccuito and Wanganeen were at that age.... Cornes' response was, "The bar has been raised, he is better than all those guys at that age, I would put him level with Nathan Buckley".... Not bad!! Those two guys are Glenelg boys, through and through and were praising the kid like crazy! Luke Norman (Sturt coach) was just on the news here in Adelaide and said that Trengove will be a 200+ game AFL player and that at the start of the year he was touted as a Top 10 prospect.... But now he is certain he will go 1 or 2.... Was pretty stoked that he would go to Melbourne Norman also said that Sturt is keeping Jack away from the media this week and that he is definately not going to be at the draft camp (obviously).... They just want him to concentrate on the GF on Sunday.... He said that he has a maturity he has never seen before in a young player and that his committment to the club on and off the track has been "phenomenal" I knew it.... I knew he would come to us.... Thank you God!!!

Cameron Schwab on twitter : "Watching the TAC Cup GF. Anyone looking for confirmation of the value of choices 11, 18 and beyond should tune in. Bit of size as well." We are watching him!!
-
Cameron Schwab on Twitter : "Jack Trengove played the house down for Sturt today. That's got the twitterers twittering." Hopefully this means the scouts were there to witness his display..... Got a great feeling he is ours!! Cam also made an earlier statement whilst watching the TAC Cup GF "Watching the TAC Cup GF. Anyone looking for confirmation of the value of choices 11, 18 and beyond should tune in. Bit of size as well." :D

Could not agree more! He is a well oiled machine..... Can play as either a hard in and under type or as a classy outside type..... We would be foolish not to pick him up!
-
No, I don't think it matters..... But being from SA he has not had the hype in Melbourne that Scully has.... I really couldn't give a rats tossbag who goes 1 or 2, just as long as we get them both..... But I just look at all the pressure on Watts this year and wonder if Scully needs the same....
-
They cannot afford to think like that!! You go for the best available players, and this kid is the best available!! No offence to Scully, who is a gun....
-
Agree

On today's performance and if he goes alright next week in the GF, I would not be at all surprised if JT went No. 1 Even though the media has been all over Scully, and with good reason, I just wonder if they will take Trengove with the Top pick..... Might even give Scully another reason to have a belter pre-season, to prove them wrong..... Not that he needs encouragement as I have heard he is a professional little bugger! Just throwing it out there....
-
If he wants to live in my house he will be :D Plus, I'll just keep renewing his membership.... He has no say in it really!

Well.... I had a screaming little 8 month old demon for pretty much the whole last quarter But I just kept giving him random toys to play with every 2 or 3 mins to keep him quiet till the end.... HaHa.... After bath time and a bottle he is about to go to sleep (well that is the plan, am not hearing anything from his room) So..... May I just recap what has been one of my most enjoyable afternoons for awhile.... Sturt are now into the SANFL grand final next week against Central Districts.... Jack Trengove has just played one of the best games I have ever seen an 18yr old play.... He was everywhere today.... In and under packs, clearing the ball with quick hands, contested marks, classy moves to evade opponents and a Leo Barry style mark in the dying seconds to secure the win for his team! This kid carried his team on his young shoulders today.... He was freakin' awesome! Finished just short of 30 disposals and was easily in my Top 2 on the ground (his captain Jade Sheedy had 30 touches and 2 goals) In an interview after the match, one of Jack's senior teammates replied when asked about him, "Geez, he's good isn't he? He IS 30 isn't he? haha... He has a 30 year olds head on his shoulders... Just classy" I am obviously sold on Trengove, and have been all year.... He is just great to watch on the field.... His legs were stuffed in that last quarter, but he just kept willing himself into every contest and did a serious amount of "gut" running! It's all up to the FD now.... Do your job boys Oh and as I said earlier, I don't barrack for Sturt, I support the Norwood Redlegs (for obvious reasons) And I am Victorian, so there is no SA bias comin' from this mouth.... I just know a good, young footy player when I see one. And this kid is F'ing Good!!
