Yeah. OMac, TMac and Frost on their talls, sure. Frost wasn't playing in pre-season, and OMac wasn't in form. Also we've done well in the forward line without big boys. Scoring heavily actually. I'm pumped to see us run rings around their defenders. I get your concerns about his hardness. He's no Jones (who is?) But I'm not sure he's "soft" whatever that means. I have a feeling Goody slots him forward as the negating defender as a reward for his good VFL form and Hannan, Vince and others slide up the ground like they did against Dogs. Interesting stuff though.

He's been there for a few weeks? In awesome form as I'm sure you're aware. You hated his early season form that much? Gawn in for Jones, don't we go in a bit tall?
-
Yeah that was half an hour ago when it broke.
-
Just as we had all the good news... Still. We have options. Gawn coming back and Hogan soon means structurally we might not have such dire need for the production Jones brings. I'm gonna get more up and about about Trengove coming in now. Fair warning. lol
-
Ta. I might have jumped early.

I'd heard this yesterday... Sauce?

You're the first I've seen complain seriously about it. Part of the reason it happens is that we had a QB game. Always gonna have short breaks after that. Plus the Anzac one. I feel like it's more of a Scott brothers thing to complain about everything you don't get. Imagine if the games didn't go Monday > Sunday > Saturday > Friday... and went Monday > Saturday > Saturday > Friday. Would you be anymore pleased? 5 day break followed by 7 and 6... You ca write off the 5 day break. I reckon 3 6ers is a great get in point of fact. It's doable.

Frost speed too important on Subi. Absolute certainty to play. OMac might be the extremely unlucky one.

One thing about Goody, he swings changes you don't see coming VERY often. Crazy things like Spencer AND Gawn in wouldn't surprise me at this stage. I do reckon he has a thing for JKH. And given the amount of ball he's winning and how he's running out games, I daresay he'll like those young legs in Subi. The Trengove one is a long shot... but I reckon, using reason (which might be useless from my perspective, given Goody has done some wacky things), our greatest strength is clearances and contested possessions. We get slower, a lot slower, with Trenners in there... But in terms of role, there's noone that's like-for-like in the same was Trengove is. Stretch is smaller, quicker and more outside. Likewise JKH. Kent's not inside. Trengove is more mature, and can be given the job of curtailing Priddis, who won't humiliate him on the run. I think I'm reaching, but it's not ridiculous the concept of Trengove playing. Put it this way... if Jones AND, say, one of Oliver, Tyson or Viney couldn't play... then I reckon it would see Trengove in. But that's basically the only circumstance. With that in mind... Like I say... My heart goes with Trengove. A few hours later, Hun goes with JK a certainty to play. They're different over there in the west, I'll say that much...

Is there still noone predicting the Trengove for Jones smokey?

The timing of the good games as well. In most, if not all, games this year, when the game's up for grabs, Clarry would have 15 minutes of unbelievable footy. This week his big second half came when the game was done. I reckon that's the reason for the Salem and Hibberd love. And rightly so, too, I guess.
-
Oh can we please make it a thing on D'land as well? In the match-day thread some Cats supporter said he hasn't seen inside hands like Olly's in his life... this meme is actually starting to not look so silly.
-
The second one. A top 5 players this week was near impossible. Only really Hibberd a definite.
-
Pure and simple, it's a tiny drop in the ocean compared to the NFL social media wars between players of opposiing clubs. All three are mates. It's basically a good bit of fun. If you're 60+ and stuck in your ways, it'll make you a little nervous... but in reality it's just a bit of modern sportspeople/celebrity sneaking into our game from the USA. You can be fair square against it... But it's here to stay.
-
Ha. Now that's thinking creatively. As far as your pick 5 this year goes. I reckon hold off twelve months. 2018 has the cream.

Zing.

Same thing happened to me when I very calmly explained how Mitch Clarke shouldn't be free of fair criticism just because of his condition. It's actually a real problem. Facebook is a massive, if not the most massive piece of social media. When you look up MFC groups his was the first that came up. You can't have something that has such a big chunk of supporter interest being run by a peanut like this guy. Someone really should do something about it.

lol After he rewarded the QB mob with an unchanged side. We smash the premiers, doubling their score... and people think he'll make 4 changes.
-
lol Yeah. I think if they have guys on the list, even ones who can only do one thing like Trenners, then they're there for a reason. We have that many inside ballwinners in the 22 now, there just isn't room for him. But if one or two of Oliver, Jones, Viney or Tyson were to miss or get hurt, Trenners would come under serious consideration. Hasn't put a foot wrong in the twos for half a season. As it happens this week, subi is no place for his legs. But in subsequent weeks...
-
Cos he was the carryover? Fair enough.
-
I'm gonna need you to expand please. From who. What buzz. What exactly are they saying. What tone of voice did they use when they said it. Is the comparison to do with pace/style? Or more just the level of excitement?
-
Just saw a tweet about it. I hope you're right. I'm preparing for the worst though. Just looking at Casey thread. Seems JKH is demanding a recall.
-
Oh wow. Jones out is absolutely massive. Head says Stretch in for him as we need the engine on Subi. Heart says Trenners.
-
Purely going on numbers in each position, we actually went into the season low on KP defenders. Frost, TMac, OMac, Garland. Only 4. You could argue Hibberd can play tall-ish. But TBH, that is a super thin way to go into a season for KP defenders. So even though right now everyone loves our starting 3, we really do need one more. Even if only as a development player. I reckon small/general defenders we have heaps. Hibberd, Hunt, Jetta, Lewis, Salem. Wow. Midfielders: Awesome. Some people say you need 14 or so with real class as your first 4. Oliver, Viney, Jones, Tyson. We have about 10 other Harmes/Bugg types that roll through there. But I'm of the mind we need 2 more serious mids, and should spend our next 2 first rounders on them. The big thing here is decline/age of Jones, Lewis and Vince. This should really be of concern in a big way to all demons supporters. KP forwards: Hogan, Weed,Watts, Pedo, Hulett... Probably need another here too. Hulett might be in trouble. Small forwards: Sensational. Garlett, Harmes, Bugg, Tracca, Hannan, AVB. Awesome. Rucks: As discussed over and over. We have two starters who could go 22 rounds. And 2-3 kids who we will wait and see. Leave as it is I reckon. If Spencer moves on, we'll have to FA up another. So I reckon over next two seasons. 1 KP forward. 1 KP Defender. 2 mids. Lovely jubblies. Could find them in trades. Could FA them. I'm really hoping though that given the pressure is off the recruiters, they can stockpile some 2018 draft picks. They're already saying it's a super draft.

12 marks, 8 R50s, 9 spoils... Wow. Shame his bro will steal all of those next week. lol
