Im not really sure how HO's media style and public display can be seen as anything but bizarre. His personal circumstances aside his public persona is misguided. His club think so too. A sense of humour applies to EVERYTHING in life. Ask any psch...the way most deal with BAD things is to create humour about it or deal with it with humour. (a slight dif ) If you know anything about the Jews...you'll understand the need for humour. They are only one example. Point being, its a tool for dealing with things., especially life.

The issue with Davey from my seat in the gods is simply does he really provide more value staying as opposed freeing up a spot ? Yes folks...is he on the verge of becoming that dreaded varietel ...a list clogger ? Hes had a couple of OK games this season which is far more than many of us expected but is that really enough. We come back to the old jewel of a situation, is it better to get a few games into someone else or keep playing Davey ? Aaron isnt going to be around come the next window. His replacement should be. Becomes a pretty straightforward decision in reality.

If this is to be the way forward then a construct needs to be created which provides an unambiguous framework for such concessions. Has to in order to seem fair to the receivers as well as the rest of the teams. If its all adhoc it will be seen as far too open to corruption etc. If for eg its setup where particular circumstances trigger such a requirement ( concession ) then some automatic enactment of a particular style mini draft for the concessioned club(s) might work. Everyone knows where they stand. I do however see a problem that this may well become misused in the very same way that the older auto PP system failed. Clubs may see the reward of 'tanking' as too great to resist, so possibly the auto trigger aspect is its own catch 22. A possible out of this is that a minidraft where the picks are traded becomes only of as much value as that current climate of tradable players presents. Seasons will vary as to whom is on the market and how well that type of player suits the 'needy' club I suppose if litmus a was a continued poor result i.e not just one year but systemic failure ( a-la us ) then it might deter a club from an 'aberational' year .

Will we ever see logic and consistency at the match review. In all its recent forms its failed. Always, or at least often , so varying in its discourse of penalties as to make the place farcial. Until more voice and weight given to perhaps those recently retired from the game then I cant see how it will remedy. It cant help either that the rules are just rubbish now in so many parts of the game. Over complication of ajudication leads to too many areas of intepretation.
