I get the notion but its surely a furphy..isnt it. The betting industry is ( for mine ) essentially a parasitic one.. Yeah I have a bet every now and again but I know its a risk...its a bet.. wager..a chance etc. not a go at you by any means... I just find the whole idea that this game is there to simply serve betting and television somewhat distasteful

Sorry Hardtack ..but.what shlt.... if you re dumb enough to bet on an animal that can change its spots at any given time then more fool you. What has it come to when we are supposedly to be protecting gamblers ffs. A team is entitled to structure itself and play how it bloody well likes. Its not there for the punter. Football doesnt exist for the betting. Explains whats so wrong about so much...the reasons for things have just got so skewed.

sorry OD. Tanking / list management etc is just that . The prioritising of the development of the team as a whole against the weight of a particular outcome of a game or games which to the club have no meaningful relevance other than to trial and blood players with a view to going forward. This type of managing had been utilised by just about everyone. What happened was it suited someone else to have us scapegoated. This is light years away in difference to a systemic program of injecting illegal drugs ( who's harm is UNKNOWN ) for the distinct purpose of gaining an unfair and sustained advantage, cheating.List management is just that..organising your assets as you see fit. Why not. It's your team . Taking drugs is taking drugs. They even have LAWS against that !!

There's been some interest in the day game style/coaching irrespective of those wins. I think there's legitimate concern about how we play and how the box reacts on the day. We're caught napping often.

Roos is obviously a very good 'holistic' coach in so far as the 'overall" goes but im not impressed with game days. Yes you can only work with what you have but I seldom see much beyond meat and 3 veg. Im glad he is with the club but im not depressed that he'll hand over to someone with possibly a different tack to weekends.

I dont say that joyfull or any such just its seems an obvious observation ( call me capt ) I admire the guys spunk in so far as he has to continually get himself up , only to fall down. For the many efforts hes not really that far advanced along the path , not nearly where he would want to be and feel comfortable about it and he's even caused dismay from the coach who's openly penned that if it were hi he'd be in Hawaii !! so The lad is rally at that time where one of two things is going to happen. Maybe 2-1/2......... He continues his admirable knuckling down and somehow it all jells. It can. You can just have those epithanies where this finally goes with that etc and the cogs mesh and its all happening. Or.......He thinks FTFAJ...lifes too short what else can I do.......or....this is the '1/2" ...maybe a 'change of environment" ......fresh fields. Hes obviously distinctly rattled by it all. Ive learnt to effectively dismiss ANYTHING a coach ever says about these things as its only ever spin ( for whos benefit its irrelvant ) but to pay close attention what what 'happens" Despite all my own frustrations with Jack I honestly wish he could play to those abilities. Hes a elite thinker, better than most of our lot, just a shame it doesnt marry the rest of the game we can start another JW thread and go round the block a few more times but to answer your question SWYL.. I think hes in a really crappy place and wil ljust have to listen to his intuition. Am sure the coaches will support him whichhever way...cant be much fun

There is really one thing that keeps resonating in my thinking. We have decent facilities. That cant be it. We have what surely must be a more than adequate assembly of coaches and support staff. Yes its not a world class list but there is some ability and talent there. But i still dont get why we cant pkay a basic game of footy. Our skills under pressure are woeful. Our thinking/decision borders on inept or scared often. I seldom enjoy watching us play. Win or lose its rubbish invariably to look at. Why ? How do we get it so wrong so much ?
