  1. theres always next year
  2. They're quite evolved for filth !
  3. Just thought some of you would find this interesting/amusing. I live amongst a lot of Filth, no not squalor , just those colour challenged type. Wife is, her whole family (catholic) are. A bro in law commented over weekend. " hey , your lot starting to look like you might play some decent footy, our QB bet mightn't be a given next year !" Others are noticing !!!
  4. What I think will be interesting is how all of this, our trades and drafting will be viewed and adjudged by those doyens of all things footy...the media. Not that I really care (for them) but given the persistent kickings and derision handed out over recent months I wonder who, or indeed if any ,might change their tune (unheard of I know). The list is going to be oly passingly recognizable in some ways. The spine, well we'll have one , and not that shabby. A midfield whilst not a throbbing 351, certainly a decent engine capable of improvement. The team average for games experience will jump a bit and start to bring us into the realms of real competitiveness.. That "hardness" and ability to play the roes assigned and with some expectation of doing those competently augars well for the coming season. Often though the Smucks and buffoons parading as the 4th estate have seen fit to dispense with any fair and informed appraisal of the MFC but carry on some conspired agenda to undermine the club. Will they be able to ignore the truth now ? Probably, but I'd like to see at least one come out with a reasoned précis of where we will sit after all the papers are signed and names/numbers called. I wonder who will have the cohunes !
  5. Think you'll find we'll climb above that a lot quicker than some suspect
  6. Well I'll be.........people are actually buying into this club. Better sit down with an afternoon daquiri (banana of course ) Just not used to this. Crikey , where will it end up ?
  7. Banana excitement ?? . . . Ok !!! I'll just leave it there
  8. I agree, this will pan out a bit like a 3 act play!
  9. PS Red, I think there WILL be quite a clear out. Has to be.
  10. Red, can't quite remember where he said it , might have been tucked away in Hogans pressed, but Neeld intimated bringing in a number of players resulting all up in a list change of around 11 or so. I don't think he's kidding when he says he'd take both DumbleDawes and Gumby. We have Byrnes, add (say one of to be conservative ) Dawes/Gumby, add a likely Pedersen and possible Ray. Hogan (2014 but he's here ) Viney, possible Wines. Still 2-3 to come. He's like a kid in a lolly shop lol
  11. Now we're back to the familiar time honoured past time of trade week snoozing. And to think there's a fortnight to go ZZzzzzzzzzzz
  12. Back to more important things ; I can heartily recommend slightly caramelised Bananas on a couple of whole meal pancakes served with a liberal dollop of Five-a.m. Vanilla Bean yoghurt !, Go on ....try it
  13. Hey ... I played AGS ...lol, yeah can be so-so. Assumption always seemed a world apart come footy though.
  14. Only one thing to do, sack Neeld, sack Harrington. S'pose we have to keep Todd now....bugger
  15. Not only the Journos i suspect but the hacks also.
  16. i agree. Be like a normal trade period now. Nothing nothing rumour nothing then all hell brsaks loose during the final hours.Tis all Mexican standoff now i think
  17. That obvious ?
  18. We're on our way people's. The direction of choices so far taken both prior to the circus and now during it sown we've learnt,as a club, the mistakes not to repeat. We seem far more savvy, more attuned to what you need on a list to create a performing-winning team. We've made the wrong decisions at times in the past but worse repeated them. Our list is riddled with these errors. It won't be nearly so disadvantaged come the end of the draft. I'm sure I'm not the only one to observe we've turned a corner now. Kudos to the current regime. I'm not silly enough to think every pick and trade will be perfect but I sense the margin for error is greatly reduced . This is all the result of some serious soul searching at the MFC and some hard admissions of not only where we were but where we weren't !! There's been wholesale change..... At long last Often Ive gone into the new season hopeful and expectant. 2013 I'll be genuinely confident we can be actually competitive. Success will follow.
  19. Many of us do Old
  20. I only thought I was excited those other times as it was obviously a false illusion !!! LolThis time as you surmise, real change combined with an injection of meaningful acquisitions = some real chance at a competitive team. Edit: my memory does fail me Edit: my memory does fail me
  21. Well after all the dust settles after the trading, the drafting and the trimming I'm not sure I'll recognize our team. Hallelujah and tftf !!!!! )) Don't think I've look so forward to the 1st round so much for a long long long time.
  22. So how's everyone's blood, pressure NOW ? Lol Am celebrating with a Banana daiquiri CHEERS !!!!!!
  23. Thought it had been on for a while
  24. An element to all this that I will take some solace from is the notion that essentially the club has been building up to this trade /draft period for a year. We ( as a club ) obviously have a plan. Weve targeted specific players and acknowledged other opportunities as they have arisen. This is not ad-hoc. They will not be making decisions andd picks as some last minute knee jerk reaction. None of the kids in the combine are news. ALL who were free agents were known. The types we wanted to trade for have been identified for a year or so. I realise we may not get all of whom we have on a wish list but Im going to take it that we are focused and diligent. I also dont think we will be baited and hoodwinked. Just seeing who weve looked at indeed schmoozed so far indicates to me were not too distracted by shiny things and glittering lights. In light of how we reversed fortunes with you know who and came out smellign roses with prizes I have a restored faith in our ability to regrow this list. Having said all that..please dont f#*k it up Melbourne ...lol
