LoL Geez if a tree fell in a forest they'd be 5 amongst you that would swear you heard something but couldn't be sure it was a tree. Some would hear nothing and have us believe the tree wasn't worthy of falling, another would swear it did fall and so it should as it was rotten to the core and the the lumberjacks had it easy. Others will swearmits still young growth and no One ought to be chopping anywhere. Tis not the time to worry over takings stands whether they be of trees or opinions. Only one seaon counts and it matters not about twigs, leaves or trunks unless they're the ones worn by Demons in battle proper!! Roll on 2011, the real one !! Go Dees !!

Hang on .. Were we playing in the pink jumpers !!! That's it .... Never never again !!
-
Tsk tsk ... You just wrecked everyone's doom and gloom .... You b@stard !!! Lol
-
Ah well that's it... We're for the chop, the end is nigh , sky about to fall and worst of all the bottle of red is empty... Life sucks!!! But wait, there's more... God bless graysonline ) Ffs folks , just a little early isn't it for wrist slashing ?????

Time for a little Jurrah magic !! Go Dees

Anyone heard 'boo' from the Scorps ? They seem remarkably quiet about their prized recruit.
-
Fev grabbing a headline....what are the odds ??
-
What is the CONCERN regarding any proposed gaming venue ?
-
Money wise Vlad suggests it's around 500000 to field a reserves team . We already fund Casey to 250000. This is where it's suggested that for 250000 ( extra) we'd be able to run our own magoos. From what I can understand there are quite a few issues the MFC and Scorps differ on,as to Melbournes reasons it seems only the club knows. Maybe someone can Illuminate ?
-
Were a brand in the building. It will take a generation to come through enjoying success before we can dream of 70 odd thousand. Maybe 50 in 5-10 depending on performances.
-
Is there even any provision for a takeover ?? and would we want to ?..Im not saying we dont...but do we ?
-
theres always a whole swag who wait til the first game..why ?? no idea.. just happens
-
Well..lets no be quite so generous there...theyre also helping themselves out for the most part. if it was just Fev then maybe they might have listened more attentively to Melbournes position. They ignored that so its safe to say theyre decision is quite self serving. But yes..hes looking to resurrect an AFL career and a year in the Magoos is the stepping stone.......watch that step !!
-
OK..so we say we go it alone... then what happens to the deal with Casey, the Shire, not the club ? What happens re the moey and facilities developed there ? It sounds all rather murky.

Dee's call on the money men to keep players
beelzebub replied to darkhorse72's topic in Melbourne Demons
Some who have been on this forum for a while may recall there was discussions about advertising and promotions. Trams were suggested back then. . They're great for getting in peoples faces. Good one Melbourne Fantastic to see the club building itself as greater than a mere footy club, more like the great institution we've all imagined. There's more to life than footy ( yep apparently so ) and it's this perspective that the MFC is modeling itself with. It'll take a while to show fruit but it's a highly commendable initiative . -
Of course at Veefa level Fev would be better as a CHF leaving FF open for developing youth. Put the Sook there (chf) and he'll drag their best defender there too. It's not all doom and gloom
-
Anyone would think the End is nigh the way some are carrying on. The MFC has it's nuts in a twist. Deal with it and move on. Instead of looking for the doom and gloom let's see what can be garnered from this . Fev love him or loathe him is a power forward who on his day will tear an oppos defence a new one . Sadly for him that became more infrequent as distractions took over. Would I have him in Red and Blue ? Probably not. He may afford those training and developing through Casey the opportunity to hone their craft against genuine AFL standard . I can't help but imagine those who can at the club will pull him aside and in all likelihood offer genuine help guidance and mentorship whilst letting him also no we won't stand for ANY BS irrespective of what the Scorps do (or don't) Out upcoming defenders could do far worse than pitting themselves against a strong fast breakaway forward with good mitts !! He can play very good footy ... He's just a bit of an idiot and a sook. The MFC obviously needs to refine their dealings with Casey He's coming.. Learn to live with it. Who knows he might surprise everyone and grow up !! Lol

If Micky mouse was to come on board , you'd find the money. Simple as that. It's all supposition and hypothetical. Of course come mid season if we aren't ascending then the Fourth Estate will start circling for the kill. I'm going to believe (ftm) that Bailey will prove the goods. But they'll be barking their stories and nipping at the heels of any faltering.
-
The supposition that should we not start to capitalise on our potential then Bailey is in the sights is probably quite reasonable. Don't be suaded it's Baileys make or break season. He'll be aware( acutely) of it. Personally I think he'll bring us on( and upward ) but should that not occur then the MFC will have to re-assess and consider others. You'd be mad not to consider Mickey Mouse, mad !! There's going to be unprecedented media attention on our club I think this year. Some would like to see the cinderella story unfold , others only too happy to knife us. We've enjoyed a lot of good press and some may seek to rebalance that. There'll be more mischief as the months unfold.

Scully's management to talk to Melbourne this week
beelzebub replied to SoNotFunny's topic in Melbourne Demons
Mikes be around a few blocks more than a few times. I'd lay money he knows more than most of us put together. If he's jittery then I'm inclined to start focussing on a post Scully Melbourne team. I still quite frany see nothing to lose by round tabling and asking the elephant. "Well mate , where are we heading with all this?" It's a two way street . The club has a responsibity to look after him and utilize and grow his talent BUT only really if he's of a mind to stay. I've said this before but if an emoyee of mine couldn't look me in the eyes and commit then I'm wondering why not. They'd be perfectly entitled to look around but if they were they'd be off my A team and informed they now have all the time they like to look; don't worry about closing the door etc. We have finished the big rebuild and are now looking to refine and enhance. Much of that comes from match time and playing more with your team mates. What on earth is to be gained by Melb to play Scully if he's not going to be with us next year ? Better that time, effort and club resource put into someone who is. All this waiting t seasons end is double speak. It means ONE thing. I'm outta here !! It's already been reported the AFL won't get it's magic Billion. All interested. parties could do there workings on about 800 million. Experienced operators can estimate what that may or may not translate to for players in their charge. Those that WANT to be at the Dees have already spoken to that end. Many at other clubs have said similar. I'm certainly not one of those that would be happy to stick head in sand and think all will be well. You need to be proactive . This club is and always will be bigger than one player, no matter how good he is or might be. Tom , you're more than entitled to the best return on your efforts . So is the club. We won't waste your time. Don't waste ours. Melbourne will enjoy far more success in the period of your playing career. You could well figure in that. Arguably you might earn more money at another club. Life can be mercenary but also very rewarding. If you don't see your future at Melb say so . We'll respect that.indicate that to the club now and we can all get on with things. I'm with Paul Roos ... Play hardball Melbourne. don't and this cancer will reappear over and over. -
Well done Nutbean. Not just for having the temerity to question the beast that is the AFL but the fortitude and application to see it through. Plaudits for throwing it at us for comment and review. Kudos actually to the Beast for publishing. Who knows where this will lead as Vladland seldom truly adresses mistakes. Good onya

The solution of sorts is to have Beamers get the ball and always hand off before the second tackle after the first onslaught there invariably is a modicum of thinking time. Moloney never uses it well seemingly thinking he's in son sort of perpetual game of British bulldog !! If he can get the ball to a better thinking mid and then run forward providing an option then his booing kick might have more effectiveness . He also needs to lower his eyes occasionally. Presently he's just too one dimensional and predictable; a liability where he ought to be an asset.
