  1. the biggest surprise crowd for me was the 2018 one at the g vs gw$ 37k and every one a dee, crowd going absolutely mental as we salivated for the return finals footy generally speaking i'd say we have 16-22k rusted on fans who turn up pretty much no matter what anything over 25k is a pretty strong representation for us
  2. yes, like i said - the afl don't care about crowds during the regular season, outside of bragging rights
  3. the afl don't care about crowds during the regular season, other than for the warm and fuzzies of it all it's all about the broadcast revenue and the wagering growth now, finals? different kettle of fish
  4. this the fact that the afl has been shutting down 3rd party content providers because they don't want the footage to be available and analysed says volumes there's every chance that jeff's channel could be the next to get a cease-and-desist letter from head office
  5. that's pretty much the way it used to work think of heeney - we had pick 2, nominated heeney, bloods matched with pick 18 it was after this that the 'points based' system was introduced, which is why when we bid on callum mills the following year with pick 3 the bloods had to match that value with a succession of later picks and mills was officially pick 3 (and why oliver was pick 4) it has now become an absolute farce where clubs - particularly gc17 - are banking points via late picks and then selecting 3 players in the top 10 with picks accumulated from the 3rd round on they've changed that this year to make it harder to match by devaluing the pick points value
  6. aints and the kangas the same? i would presume they would not be too far off - it's almost like we, as smaller melbourne-based clubs - are automatically shunted down the highway so that they can fill their quota of 9 home games down there
  7. i love the romantacism of father-son selections it's a very different kettle of fish to the nga malarkey
  8. tipping: footscray? peptides? baggers? dingley? filth flagmantle? crom us? gc17 as always, we need those around us on the ladder to lose - if gw$ with all their outs gets over the baggers it'd be better for us, while the pear getting up over walyalup would be arguably better for us, as we'd both join them on 5 wins, presuming we get up too i'd love it if kangas could up over the filth as the surprise of the week
  9. chinese heritage, i believe the theory was that the northern clubs needed academies to encourage participation the reality is that the swans - in particular - and the bears are getting both father-sons and nga picks, often from other club's potential father-son selections (see; blakey) the likes of heeney might come from rugby league loyalty but callum mills, as an example, played junior aussie rules all the way through his childhood and was never not part of the 'system'
  10. I don’t think many clubs will be trying to trade in to 2025 draft judging by the feedback coming through regarding the depth of quality of this year’s cohort
  11. is he really not rated in the top 30 in the draft this year? he seems to read the play well based upon these scant highlights

  14. OUT: sharp IN: viney if they determine that lever is good to go, then turner to go forward and provide the relief ruck as johnson goes out
