  1. and there's the soft free to keep the hawks in it.
  2. some of those tidbits of news came from player managers - and i'm fairly sure that hogan was discussed here first, then barrrett reported it. barrett's opinion pieces more often than not are opinion pieces that come after the likes of caroline or smith or denham have said it / written it two or three days prior. there's no doubt that he haunts message boards, which is a sensible thing to do when you think about it; how often is it that we see news here and then a couple of days later it's in the mainstream press?
  3. tiggas all over hawks early. hawks can't play keepings off like they did last week against carltank. clarko will blow his gasket at quarter time.
  4. some talk that ch 7 said other clubs are sniffing around gawn, who is ooc in 2016.
  5. I wouldn't have either of the two former Pies in. Stretch to go back to a lower level too, get more involved. Garland would have to be very close to being dropped, he was awful again. We have far too many ordinary half backs who can't kick the ball - Howe, Garland, Grimes, Lumumba Cross and Jetta are honest battlers but they simply can't dispose of the ball. The sooner Salem is fit and back in the side the better. Playing all these guys means we are down a mid rotation every week too. We need ANB and Michie to run through there, either permanently or as a sub. Same goes for Harmes. These guys play as vfl midfielders, yet when they come up they're stationed as half forwards or small forwards? Makes no sense. I actually didn't think Tyson was that bad, certainly not worse than Watts or vandenBerg as a wingman. Brayshaw looks cooked, but I'd prefer he play at AFL level than VFL. OUT: Dawes, Lumumba, Stretch IN: Jamar, ANB, JKH I know he didn't do much against Brisbane, but JKH needs afl exposure, and I'd much prefer him in the side to a Bail or Matt Jones for instance. B: Jetta - Dunn - Howe HB: Grimes - Garland - Cross C: Tyson - Jones - vandenBerg HF: Watts - McDonald - Brayshaw F: Jamar - Hogan - Garlett Foll: Gawn - Vince - Viney I/c: Michie - JKH - Harmes Sub: ANB
  6. no heart. no skill and no passion from the players...no more caring from me.
  7. we were lucky to beat brisbane last week, and we look miles - MILES - off it currently. we are an average to poor side playing an okay to average side. 7+ goal margin coming up.
  8. Watts is as lazy a chaser as Bate.
  9. So, should I head home at half time? It's cold and the football is rubbish.
  10. We have absolutely no system of moving the ball forward. It's just chaos ball after chaos ball. Ugly to watch and completely ineffective.
  11. he doesn't get involved enough - he goes missing for extended periods. his tackling numbers are also significantly higher at vfl level; once he comes up they drop right off. and he has epic, epic brainfarts on a regular basis. but i wish picket would give the highlighting of wines a rest. we all know he's gun. stop reminiscing on the past - focus on the future!
  12. it was a good game to watch, but the open, fast-flowing and non-defensive nature of it shows just how far both these sides are off it when compared to the defensive nature of freo, hawks, sydney and even meth coke, all of who press and push up and are ferocious in their defensive intensity.
  13. scrappy game. freo have really gone off the boil - pav's second half of this season has been pretty poor. tigers doing well.
  14. yes, and his name is 'mike fitzpatrick'.
  15. i wonder if they'll apply for a priority pick like brisbane? wouldn't surprise me. and, like brisbane, i'd wager they'll get it. if both clubs apply, so should we.
  16. Well tonight's game is over.
  17. I think at this point we put him down as having 'chronic' hamstring issues. Third time in three years he's had issues, isn't it?
  18. i actually think jkh is better moving further up the ground, and getting more involved, rather than stationed deep forward.
  19. I've been really amazed by Nic Nat's improvement this year. I've been a naysayer for a long time - doesn't take marks, doesn't influence play - but he's really starting to show a lot more than that.
  20. 6: hogan - he was clearly the difference btw the two sides, and it's scary to think how ordinary we would be without him 5: gawn - went up against two genuine ruckman and more than held his own, and his around-the-ground game is improving weekly 4: howe - i have maintained that he's a natural defender and he absolutely nailed that role today, intercepting and sparking rebounds 3: cross - that he's so positively ancient and still able to influence the play the way he does says a lot about his quality; sign up for 2016 2: viney - aother excellent run-with role where he was able to not just curtail his opponent but get the pill too; remains me so much of kane cornes in that respect 1: garlett - provided great defensive pressure and also contributed to the scoreboard - just needs to nail the set shot doddles!
  21. Grimes has been playing as a tagger at Casey hasn't he? Might be a chance to run through the midfield in that mode, as opposed to sweeping off half-back.
