i'm high on the hill looking over the bridge to the.... large swathe of apartment blocks doesn't have quite the same ring to it...
  2. i dunno, swans couldn't afford to keep sausage cos of his high wage and when they poached him from kardinia park i can't imagine he was on chump change both been very good ruckmen over the course of their careers
  3. nic is a 3-time all oztrayan as well, plus likely has at least two years left in his body
  4. i think it's a good thing that they're phasing the nga outs ugle-hagen, quaynor, et al were absolute rorts if andrew is a success it just goes to show the strength of our development program hopefully he goes somewhere interstate so that our 'investment' pays off in a few years time when he has a severe bout of homesickness
  5. isn't it the other way around? he needs to nominate as a father-son, not us nominate him as one? for example, jase burgoyne nominated for port as a father-son yesterday
  6. waiting for the jokes about the trip from the mcg to toorak and brighton and then down the peninsula being the rural component...
  7. especially true for gw$ this year who have a 'free hit' as their pick 2 (which will become pick 4) is a 'free hit' thanks to the filth passing it on to them
  8. he's not a small forward tho, is he? more of a mid?
  9. i am more than happy for him to go early to an interstate club; in that respect our 'nga academy' becomes groundwork for woo'ing him home after three seasons
  10. fantastic result - this will take him through to free agency, i would expect? by the time the end of 2025 rolls around he could be well primed to take over from lever as our tall backline 'general' you would imagine both the crom and the pear would have been in his manager's ear about getting him home to south oztraya - he is EXACTLY what they are both missing from their current line-up
  11. all an irrelevancy for the mfc, ultimately, as he ain't gonna be around at our selection
  12. looks a talent hopefully less of a ning-nong than ben simmons or kyrie irving
  13. firming for gw$ first pick from all reports - they'll nominate darcy and daicos, which will be matched, then they'll pick andrew with pick 4 i suppose the thing to remember is that it's essentially a 'free hit' for them as they also hold their own pick later in the first round, which andrew is unlikely to make it through too - better to guarantee the player you want early than miss out on him
  14. every club has 'busts' in drafts
  15. got sent this earlier today...
  16. one thing against picking up a developing key forward is that - with a few exceptions - their role has become as much about being a link in the chain / bringing it to ground / gut-running as anything long gone are the days of key forwards being the 'stars' of the competition - now it's all about those powerhouse mids who can hit the scoreboard (trac, neck tatts, etc.)

    that's my purse; i don't know you!
  18. well, apart from the fact that we - currently - don't have a rd 1, '22 pick
  19. i was under the impression the aints' nga picks are around that 15-30 range? some thought that marcus windhager may go inside the top 20, precluding them from matching a bid, a la mac andrew for us
  20. i cannot fathom why north wouldn't make the filth and footscray pay up for daicos and darcy

the 'conversations' about finlayson going back to south australia started three months ago the request from hill to be traded to one specific club in victoria started four days ago it was always an ambit request that required gw$ getting 'cover' for a small forward particularly important with greene on sabbatical for the first five weeks
  22. i watched q1 vs freo and then q4 premiership - it's chalk and cheese (roquefort?) from a comparative standpoint the quality of our improvement in football was extraordinary over the course of the season
  23. showing my bias but would have lever over moore and langdon over dawson, personally also would prefer a genuine 'defender' over daniel
  24. i wish nothing more than mid-table mediocrity upon them
