  1. footscray's midfield - when all fit - is probably the deepest of all teams running it's clearly their strength as their defence is undersized and their forward line is built around the best young tall forward in the game and a vasty underrated role player; they don't provide the same 'frontal pressure' that our small forwards, partially because they essentially 'clear space' for naughton and bruce
  2. the notion that bedford is a better midfielder than viney is absolutely absurd
  3. the nba is atrocious for all the in-jokes from the likes of shaq, sir charles, etc. and then the occasional insightful commentary from the likes of doris burke who - unlike shaq in particular - actually watches the game
  4. BuT hE's ThE nEw BuDdY!!/11!
  5. don't need someone who misses 100% of the shots he doesn't take; aussie matty t will help power us to a medal
  6. tilt indeed
  7. patty mills' triple buzzer beater to sink the argentinians was CLUTCH also, c'mon swans
  8. goodnight gw$
  9. gotta protect him from higher bids :P still, 27 disposals, 3 tackles, 8 marks, and a goal is a fine outing
  10. hamstring, i think
  11. 16 a side yes, shorter quarters no
  12. It’s funny watching Hogan; he’s clearly such a natural footballer I wonder if, like the wizard, he regrets his decision to leave the Dees
  13. what'd he finish with, @Pennant St Dee? it'll be interesting to see if we do bring him across
  14. aints are a completely different side when they have the ryder / marshall combo up and going they've been terrible closing out games in 2021 tho so i have no faith that they'll get this done this evening
  15. carlton's skills are embarrassing
  16. just finished the replay that backline tall combo of bradtke, joel smith, and turner worked an absolute treat, plus jetta taking care of business as always bradtke impressive behind the ball declase is class, bowey is super promising, sparrow and melksham look ready for afl, avb is a battering ram, weed is tall and works hard but doesn't take his marks, chandler and bedford okay but nothing amazing, and could ellison be the next fritsch - undersized tall forward type? lots to work with to keep the pressure on the senior players
  17. more boort 3rds...
  18. Yet Plugger Mac conceded the free against the pear…
  19. gawn, plugger mac, and another player hidden under a cap all in the huddle at quarter time too
  20. just catching up - nearly at quarter time - but i'd say bradtke looks pretty okay behind the ball? bowey looks a ripper, melksham is everywhere around the pill, and weideman is miles better moving up out of the 50 rather than being an i50 target - you definitely can imagine that they presumed it was going to be weed / sideshow in the forward structure for the mfc before t mac's 'good to see you're not wasting your career anymore' comeback in 2021 declase looks very promising
  21. langdon is by some margin the best wingman in the game this year but i fully expect the all oztrayan selectors to stick with tradition and name ostensible on-ballers on the wing (walsh, macrae, or miller) and half-forward flanks (petracca, bontempelli) in terms of the squad at the moment i'd have may, lever, salem, gawn, oliver, petracca, langdon in it, but only expecting one of may or lever in it, plus gawn, oliver, and petracca but who knows how the final six rounds will play out and how recency bias influences selection
  22. will make recovery etc. vital for the dogs match the following weekend
  23. yep - peptides don't have much experience but a lot of their players in that 30-70 game range are relatively 'old', e.g. stewart and hind are both 27, cutler 26, laverde, wright, and waterman 25, redman 24 they have a couple - literally; cox and perkins - of exciting first year players plus jones who is only in his second year who should be super for them, but given their age profile and list demographic they really should be a finals side
  24. at least with no goals it'll be over quicker
