  1. One of the feelings that I keep coming back to is this. For most of my life as a Dees fan, you got used to the chance that no matter how terrible or good we were at the time, a result like this could happen. Forget 186, I remember being in my adolescence in 98 and being in reasonable form coming up against an ok Geelong team that was still sort of riding on the tails of those GF appearances list wise. They came out in that first quarter and smacked us, goal after goal after goal it was completely unprecedented. You then have 186, another gane that I at least expected us to be competitive in but a witches hats like performance. Obviously the last game of Roos in 16. We've been spoiled, yes spoiled. Since that 2016 game against the Cats we have almost always been in games, very rarely have we had the wanting to hide our face feeling due to our talent, system and competitiveness. It has always helped us % wise and really in 8 years to hardly lose a game by over 50 points is remarkable. And then comes today, that old and dark feeling that on any given gameday a shellacking could happen. Yes, I thank the MFC for this run of not being bounced but this one certainly took me back.
  2. If we want to change the gamestyle we need to bring in more players to execute it. This is correct yes. The argument can be made though that we didn't have the personel for the old gameplan either though. That style seemed to illuminate our deficiencies up forward even more than this one. We were definitely close last year and it worked for the most part, but we seem to be poor goal kickers a lot when the whips are cracking and 3 finals in a row of this is sufficient evidence of this for me not to mention getting burned by the teams that setup for it. I don't know what the way forward is right now but I'm not going to pretend that the old way was perfect. I don't condone losses like this but if we just went back to the well with the old stuff I'd be disappointed.
  3. It's just sad. No other superlatives to describe it, just really sad. For us, the fans that made the trip there, for the people who have to front up at work tomorrow, and maybe most importantly for themselves. No-one wins. It's a damn shame
  4. I really hope you don't get totally bashed for this post because games like this very well can alter a football club's arc. It's too simple to call this a one off, the ultimate fork in the road if you've ever seen it.
  5. There's literally one thing I care about right now, I hope this doesn't ruin the DLers weeks too much. That's all
  6. No votes. I am taking the ballot paper in the polling booth, folding it and stuffing it in the box without touching pencil to paper.

  19. I put a lot of mental work into this after the 2nd straight sets loss. I was so hell bent on seeing one at the G, it was ruining everything. If 2021 was our fireworks moment, just be happy with it I say. Life is alright
