  1. Yeah pretty much spot on. Honeymoon is over now
  2. There's an old saying "Act like you've been there before". Well..
  3. You're right Nasher but it affects the way you think about it. When too many people start talking like that it permeates through your skull and you start to 'taste the chocolate" and it makes this situation much harder to deal with when you crash back down to earth than if you'd just tempered your expectations.
  4. Exactly. That thinking just never helps matters, it certainly doesn't put me at ease. We just need to be focusing on what we can do and make sure we front up and do our job. As for the percentage boosters, before the Hobart North game I had a mate text me saying "We're gonna smash North by 100 points, I can feel it" ha.
  5. Going into this game, I heard all the lines. "Collingwood have nothing to play for it's ok" "No Pendles, De Goey, Reid etc". I will say this and only this. In my time of supporting this club none repeat NONE of that stuff means precisely jack. Absolutely none at all. As long as a team from wherever fronts up with 22 players we are always a chance to fluff a game we are supposed to win. Until we ever break through this psychological minefield I will never pay attention to players out or what the other side has to play for or ANYTHING TO DO with the other side for that matter! It's all elevator music to me. Focus on what we do.
  6. Very disappointing. Fell to bits really, even when coming back there wasn't really a moment where I thought we'd win. The burden of expectation weighs on this club like an anvil. I hope the results go our way so we can at least break that drought and move on but there's a lot of questions to be asked. Our issues are psychological. It might be harsh be we are still soft when it counts. I don't agree that we haven't improved, we have come a long way but the psychological issues will be the hardest to overcome going forward.
  7. I'll say this one more time. If we go down we go down fighting. Come on Dees!
  8. If we go down, let's go down fighting. I've clearly run out of things to say
  9. What the actual.. This has to be a dream nothing this bad could happen in reality
  10. Wish there were more of him running around.
  11. I'm with you. The guy hasn't played 50 games yet but these types of players don't grow on trees.
  12. Personally I don't love the idea even though in many people's eyes it made the finals last year more exciting. I do agree we probably need a few years of it to make a proper judgement.

    UFC

Jones done for steroids. Does it ever end?
  14. I think the changes are what is needed. More balance and enough to give pies defenders something to worry about.
  15. I can live with partially Not that it makes much difference but I should also amend mine to 'MFC career game', I certainly didn't mean to flippantly say his whole career was on the line.
  16. It might be bold, I know there's been plenty of 'big games' for Jack but do they come much bigger? I hope he really puts a stamp on this game and reminds how valuable he can be.
  17. There's never been a bigger game for Jack Watts. Make no mistake this is a career game.
  18. Great article. Have to admit though the only ones I'd find myself applying are the Tackle rate and Metres gained ones. The Tackle rate one could really show who the ultimate two-way players are. Giveaway rate is a good one but the description of it is how 'clean' a player's disposal is. I'd say its just how often they turn possession over.

Sounds good to me, count me in!
  20. Great advice there! Gonna have to save this. Give me a Beechworth Bakery Ned Kelly pie any day! Only a yearly occurrence unfortunately for my annual trip up to Bright.
