  1. I'm warming to Travaglia at 9, think he offers the most versatility. Still hot on Lindsay but it looks like a bit of a reach at 9?

    Packers, Vikings, Rams
  3. I like the alternative pathway into AFL coaching sometimes. There's no hard and fast rule.
  4. Don't bust the merchandise. That's the bottom line. I'm sure he's happy to pinch hit ruck but he's also still in the phase where his thirst for the game is clouding long term judgement. I think the Ox comparison is good in the way that if he's going to ruck I'd like him to be a forward line ruck specialist. I don't need him taking 30% of centre bounces.
  5. Gives us something else. I'm not convinced his the permanent forward we need but he's a good option to call on.
  6. Full pre season and what will be will be.

    Bills, Vikings, Eagles
  8. In baseball terms he's probably a base hit at this stage rather than a homerun.

Ruben Amorim officially named as Man Utd manager. Liverpool was right into him until he decided to meet with West Ham and we moved on. I personally would have liked to give him a shot but it was something completely different to what Klopp had engrained in the club. For United though, it could be anything, he's a young coach who plays with 3 at the back and with true wing-backs. Will it work? No idea. But it will be different and it will be exciting to watch if the right players are involved.
  13. Yeah, always seemed like the place to find out was from leaks.
  14. Also, always attack a man/woman's strengths. No-one expects you to go for the strongest part of the fort. Up the middle, that's where the action is, grab life by its little bunny ears and get in its face because that my friend, is living!
  15. I remember on that cd the club brought out around 98 hearing Don Cordiner say that in the dying seconds of the draw that he was contesting a boundary throw in at our forward pocket and his intentions were to give the ball a huge thump through for the winning behind but Norm Smith got in the way trying to pluck it out and snap a shot. Smith grabbed the ball just as Cordiner punched it out of his hands and the ball stopped about a metre or two from the goal line before the Bombers rebounded and the siren went. Imagine if that happened today..
  16. It's a shame, I was really starting to use it.
  17. Devastating. Don't know what is worse, struggling to have kids or losing one.
  18. Today isn't for dancing on graves and popping champagne corks, not for me anyway. I think the right decision has been made by all involved and it's now time to look to the future.

My theory is that you can only be madly into 2 sports at the same time. By that I mean 2 sports where you watch every game, you check the net or socials for news or you frequent a fine establishment like Demonland. My 3 favs AFL, NFL and Soccer (the latter which a long time ago I seemed to comfortably fit in EPL, Spanish League, Italian league and some A-league is almost exclusively EPL now) for most of the year there is 2 of these on at the same time which helps. I love the sport of Basketball and I'd even go as far as saying I love to watch the NBA but my interest in it is completely different to NFL. I mostly follow players and 'good games', I have a team I don't care about them like I care about the Niners. I do like basketball though and talking about it right now makes me want to go outside and shoot some hoops. The UFC I go through fluctuating periods of either being obsessed or completely out of it. Yeah that's my ted talk.

All they need is NASCAR on that day and then it's every corner of the country on easy street!
  22. Great to have him back. As midfield coach I'm not so sure. The last first year midfield coach I can remember succeeding was Brett Ratten with us 20 years ago.
  23. Gary falls on his sword. I thank him for his time and efforts through the last 6 or so years at MFC and helping us break that 57 year year drought. Hopefully this is the best decision for everyone and the football club going forward.
  24. The final punch in the gut.

Gee wiz. Always an interesting time to sack a manager.
