  1. Gus was brilliant on Friday. The irony being that after doing the job on Neale he was somehow free for that last kick to Melksham.
  2. Whoever said we were lucky to win or stole it doesn't know a damn thing about football.
  3. So happy that Judd McVee finally has his nomination. Much deserved and one of the true rising stars of the year.
  4. Next time you'll be first I promise.
  5. The important thing is that you'll be back!
  6. I don't mind the article and honestly from the outside looking in says what a lot of people are thinking. Bringing in a 29 y.o 2 time AA ruckman on big coin then telling him to go back to the VFL to work on his forward craft just looks weird. Why would you buy a Ferrari then be upset when you realise it doesn't do off-road all that well?
  7. How did we go?
  8. Adelaide being poor away from home does not enter my consideration in this game. If we don't turn up we will be beaten. I don't know how many times we need to have a comforting stat disproven to know that it can be danger. Whether it's playing GWS off a bye, best 4th quarters going into the last against Port, most accurate team after 8 weeks or whatever, it all means toss unless we actually turn up.
  9. I'm perfectly fine with a general conversation about umpiring decisions it's just frustrating when that's the main talking point in the heat of the moment while watching a game when in my opinion there should be higher priorities. The dissent rule is a good example of the rule of the week garbage that is making it harder to watch. We can do without the flavour of the week stuff.

  11. You were actually the first person I thought of when I wrote it 😜
  12. What side of the grass are YOU on?
  13. Yeah good point Watson. We were really allowing them to keep the ball moving by letting them hit the easy targets and allowing the round the back quick handball. We definitely got up in their face much more in the last. No point letting them chip it around and then go.
  14. I don't hate Geelong as much as others but I was kinda looking forward to them missing the 8 for a change.
  15. No but I know it very well, lived down the road for several years. They were re-doing the Chapel Oval surface at the start of the year last time I saw.
  16. I’ve watched the last quarter twice and am still stumped how we did it. We started winning a bit more contested footy and clearances but it's so hard to see what changed. We took some more risks. I think Brisbane did go into their shell a bit too early and after looking so confident since the end of the first quarter they started looking scared, missing short options and just banging it long out of their backline. A comeback almost always coincides with a 'come apart'. They definitely choked.
  17. It's still a trap game so we need to be on to record a victory this week.
  18. I really hope he has and this is what I'm doing when I talk highly of them.
  19. Love Sydney's with the banjo and key change!
  20. Haha aren't jockeys the last person to blame in racing? From my limited racing knowledge if you're a great jockey but you're riding a donkey you have no chance!
  21. If Reddit is anything to go by for these social media comments then it sounds like there's been spears from all directions for the young man. At this point I couldn't give a rip about his football ability or who we took him ahead of in the draft, this kind of garbage is not on and mentally crippling for any young man. I just hope he's ok.
  22. I was down that end of the ground and my instant thought was that May used too much force in his action. I did think Daniher got some good orange juice out of it and it could have been partially in the side but when you extend the arms that far and quick you're inviting trouble. I hear a lot of people say they want consistency and I would love nothing more myself but the arguments for consistency in umpiring are almost always taking 1 single decision and comparing with another single decision during the course a game. We have to accept the fact that there are varying degrees of umpiring consistency and that near enough is probably going to have to be good enough.
  23. Was very impressed with his efforts in ruck and would be all for this. Couple of marks from him up the ground would help immensely.
  24. Everyone is human. I never like to leave early but halfway through I was finding the cold unbearable, probably needed another layer but it was exceeding my disappointment and the last time I caught a cold at the G was last year and not pleasant. Thankfully I stayed but I can't tell if the jelly legs I had at the siren were from all the emotion or just frozen numb legs.
