PREGAME: SF vs Carlton
Honestly Jaded, I love going to the footy from March to September but I do like the off season and a chance to give back to those who support my passion. It may not go down well with the people who would love footy 52 weeks a year but that's how I do it. And yeah media blackout and a trip to Mars this week.

Maynard must get at least four weeks
The landscape for people's thinking needs to shift too. Enough of this garbage about "If this is how it is then the game is stuffed" talk. People need to grow up and smell the coffee. It's like those air heads that say what Tom Morris said last year was how people talk and how "If the public heard how they talked in private they'd be stuffed" let's raise the standards a bit. What got us here won't get us there.

PREGAME: SF vs Carlton
Since Thursday night I was honestly thinking the same thing. I just thought this time might be different and we could go straight through to a prelim and do something else next week. I love going to the footy but that doesn't mean it's always easy. Having said that I'll obviously be there. Ready to do it all again! (Someone tranquilise me)

It's like a riot where police stand by as looters take what they want.

TRAINING: Sunday 9th September 2023
It's kind of funny how the answer is to go into the future with a 31+ y.o sole ruckman. Not wrong, just funny.

Michael Hibberd Hanging Up the Boots
No surprises there and another hole to fill.

If Gus is forced out of the game could Maynard be forgiven if he offered his own retirement?

Any word on Angus?
This is pretty gutting to be honest and a little too real. If this is the end of Gus's career that's devastating. If this has a long term effect on his life in general, that's 100 times worse.

Might be helpful to have a pie chart. I'll do one later.

Goodwin has been here before!
Yeah fair. The Giants game was the last time Gaz brought all this up and pointed out times where cool heads were needed to take the best option. Not a great time to revert to this.

PREGAME: SF vs Carlton
The problem is in finals, nearly is not good enough. Did you win or did you lose, that's what the legacies are judged by. Geelong nearly beat Brisbane in the 2004 prelim but fluffed a lot of shots, they led at half time in the 2019 prelim but same thing, does anyone remember these facts or give a toss? No. During the season is a great time to take learnings and pat ourselves on the back for honourable losses but it doesn't cut it in finals. If we kicked straighter we would have won correct, why didn't we kick straighter is my question. Was it weather, technique or did we simply choke at the critical moment after being accurate for most of the season? Close is just not good enough in these games. Perspective is great to have but reality bites.

Goodwin has been here before!
I think it was the GWS game. Simple kicks to open targets being totally ignored and just blazing away. If there's two games where we beat ourself it's the GWS game and this one.

Goodwin has been here before!
That's right. It felt like 5 mins until we even took the ball inside 50. It would have been great to lock it in our 50 more in that quarter.

And just get in there and kick some goals for crying out loud.

NON-MFC: Finals Week 01
Whether they were good or not their forward line only needs to flex their muscles to put serious points on the board.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
I'll drive him to the airport.
