12 months is such a long time in draft world.

All comes down to how much we get out of Fullerton. Didn't watch a lot of him at the Lions, especially in terms of ruck work around the ground. As a forward most of his goals came from being front and square off the pack so an unknown quantity in the marking stakes as well. Very much a wait and see but I have some hope. I'll be watching Will Verall closely next year though, seems quite similar to Barnett at the Eagles and I reckon he'll be a big improver at Casey if he gets a clear run at it.
  3. I think this is the best result. Welcome Kynan! Not going to die wonder and I'm sure he's going to give everything he has with this chance.
  4. Totally agree, the competition for those spots will be immense. Also thanks for playing along with my nickname project of 'Dirk', even if you didn't mean to. I'll be doing everything possible to make this one stick.
  5. What number will he get?

Yep, like when players dip after they get their $ bag.

Yeah that's true. If the roles were reversed and this final was at the G do you reckon we'd be similar?
  8. Dirk will play Rd 1. Bookmark it.
  9. Parting gift of the century.

Dunno Macca, I was a bit disappointed. A presentation to empty seats doesn't look right. Yes, there's plenty of examples where this happens but it would have been nice if a few of the 100,000 stuck around.
  11. Just checking, text can be hard with these things 🙂 Kozzie was exactly what we needed and why I'm more than happy to back JT with speculative picks. The Duke could be like a QB on the Wing with a quick release?
  12. That's why I said it. No-one was championing Clarry harder. We were tongue in cheeking it a bit before and I never said people were castigating Oliver but it was a surprise pick to a lot of Phantom drafters. We were all pretty pleased with it, I was particularly stoked when the 'strong bodied' mid we got looked bigger on than Parrish on stage. The criticisms with Toumpas did come later and he was highly touted to go where he did but it still hurt. As for Windsor, I'm happy to have that pinned if it works out. Pickett was a reach too!
  13. Maybe the sunnies add a few cms.
  14. Nah, just a supplier of quality bants!
  15. It's the theme song of his junior club in Esperance I believe.
  16. Is that you Olisk? 😉 Few called it a mistake but we were still burned by the Toumpas/Wines fiasco and with his OP issues in the leadup I'd hardly say there was certainty around the Oliver pick on here.
  17. Didn't write it here but I also had Windsor and Tholstrup..
  18. At least we made the draft interesting, was falling asleep until our picks.
  19. This always has me baffled, as someone who grew up learning this technique it almost seems impossible to 'teach' releasing it from so high. Maybe the emphasis and repetition just isn't there and near enough is good enough? I can't figure it out, there are just so few players who properly guide it down. There are a few aspect of a good kicking technique but I really do feel that if this single aspect was cleaned up across the board it would bring about the biggest improvement.
  20. Was a great time to be alive if you like good value entertainment over footy results. And our recruiting staff were seen as a company of B-grade actors.
  21. At the end of the day when you have someone like JT calling the shots you back him in with any 'reach' picks.

Made an effort to watch a bit, cricket isn't my bag but it helps to know some things to say at the water cooler. Great job by the boys, surely one of the toughest teams to play against on their home soil. Did anyone find it distasteful that the Indian players bolted to the rooms and fans to the exits before the presentation even started?

Definitely one of those 24 hour watch injuries. Admirable that he played through it considering he probably didn't have full feeling in the arm. Pretty poor game management by Carroll in the second half. Very throw heavy.
  24. I don't give a rats that he was a Collingwood fan.
