  1. Sounds like a good lawyer could take this apart, line by line…
  2. If i was going to be under public scrutiny for the quality of my work. I would want Top Dollar. So i believe The AFL Umpires should be paid Top Dollar, and be accountable after the Game
  3. A Good Culture is sustained Success and high Standards over a period of time.
  4. This is not about my Job This is about holding Umpires accountable to do a better job
  5. You are just fishing now. My point has been made
  6. The Cameras…
  7. Pay me enough money and it wouldn’t bother me I would do my job as correctly as possible
  8. The Umpires won’t be attacked if they adjudicate the game correctly. That’s the whole point. Make them accountable
  9. My job wasn’t done in front of the Public. Pay the Umpires a serious wage with a weekly Media Conference. i guarantee the mistake count will drop dramatically
  10. No. The Umpire’s would not want to look bad under analysis. Not on a weekly basis in front of the Media Pack.
  11. That is the EXACT AFL attitude… Put the Unpires in a Media Conference scenario every weekend and they will sharpen up their eye sight immediately.
  12. Yep. Straight Sets exits from the Finals is not acceptable, regardless of circumstances, if we are to emerge as a “Successful and Stable” Club We have to ingrain that into the Club psyche. Hawthorn have done it from 1971 onwards. They are never down for long…
  13. Yes, i am not a Lawyer, but there would be many ways to instigate this, if the Club is inclined. Because as it stands I would only be giving out 3 year contracts from today onwards. It’s just too dangerous for the Club, because you cannot front end all player contracts
  14. Certainly worth thinking about. The Test Case….
  15. Of Course. His role is not suited to everyone. He thrives on it, except when Port Adelaide are involved. His persona then changes drastically!!
  16. He is probably the token Thorn, who helps SEN and Social Media to have daily content. Wilson is probably the only other Journalist who is able to put the boots into the AFL whenever she wishes. It is a totally different scenario in the media, from when i was involved in the 80’s and 90’s. The AFL love to have content 24/7 whether it is positive or negative, it really doesn’t matter. Clickbait generates revenue and the crowds still rock in.
  17. There will be a lot more 3 year deals from now on….
  18. It keeps a lot of people in a job, right now, the way it is They won’t rock the boat
  19. An Umpire representative maybe interviewed 3-4 days later, but the heat has gone out of it by then. They should be in front of Cameras an hour after the game. Pay them well and make them fully accountable
  20. Of Course. There is a reason the AFL won’t put the Umps under the spotlight, it would put so many results in Jeopardy. As others have said. The Stand rule is a pathetic joke. Nominating a Ruckman is a joke. That is up to the players, not the Ump. If 3 players jump, then the Ump makes the call. But if you had the Umpires required to front the Media after games, the standard would increase immediately
  21. The only way we will see any change under the Current System is if Umpires are made available to front the Media after each game, similar to Coaches..
  22. Jackson and Brayshaw out make a huge difference to the Side
  23. Like Clockwork….
  24. Interesting analysis the first thing that comes to mind is that our pressure all over the ground dropped right off after 6 Rounds and it hasn’t been regained since.
  25. Agreed. We have to keep challenging, that is the aim. That probably defines Culture in Sports the best way. Right now The MFC is at that Crossroad. This Year worries me, because of the way we are losing games, the Fight has dissipated and we haven’t managed to Trade in anything like the talent, that has left
