Yep. We have done it every year since 1987 that we have made finals, always lost a couple of "unloseable" games to drop a few rungs. Clubs still line us up weeks out, you cannot blame them

I understand where you are coning from, but we all have to stop finding excuses for insipid performances and waiting for next year Yesterday was shocking. Leadership throughout the club is not there yet. Clutch game yesterday, close not good enough. At half time we had them.... so many times attacking from half back a Demon would fumble the ball and Nought would steal it. We should have won by 6 goals and we failed dismally. Not worthy of September Finals with yesterdays attitude...

But how do you stop it? bottom clubs are out of contention they are looking at 2018. That will always exist, unless the AFL offer bottom clubs $$$ Millions as an incentive to stay of the bottom

Yes fair point, but each club has it's agenda. All clubs pull up stumps before the end of the season if they are out of contention. Players have surgeries etc. Did we factor in the opposition feelings 10 years ago? we can make Top 4 if we win games like today and win them well
