Anyone for cricket?
Considering i heard this morning that Ponting's finger is at this point Twice its normal size, i don't see how Ponting can play at 3. The Poms are just going to aim every ball straight at that finger. If Ponting made 20 runs in each innings it would be a major achievement. Can D Hussey make over 20 runs in each innings. Ponting i would consider playing at 5th drop in this game, just to get some shine off the ball at least. Clarke is such a huge worry, moreso because he directly follows Ponting. Right now if the Poms take an opening wicket, they re looking at a potential Hat trick in each innings. To be honest i am still considering who replaces Clarke, can they play any worse??? Maybe Michael Klinger who has been quietly making scores?? i am not sure....

Kevin may well be despised more than Tony Grieg after this series, let's hope so. At least Tony had a legitimate reason at the time to find better places to play cricket. Kevin only has the ego. He must be loathed in South Africa...

Your probably right. but it is a huge risk that i wouldn't take. I would risk putting Ponting down the order and bringing in D Hussey. Clarke needs time out, and the same talk that was given to Johnson. He needs to re focus, IMO Let's see what happens....

According to the SEN scribes, i have just heard that the Australian 12 will be unchanged for next week....

Re ball tampering, i heard it was the umpires assessment of the ball after day 2 when they made the report. Not at all good to have on the CV,lets hope this gets worked out. If Ponting plays next week he must go down the order. An out of form Batsman with a broken finger is not right for no 3. Clarke has got to prove his fitness, and i mean this time really prove it, he should never have played in that first test, he couldn't even walk properly. If he fails on Day 1 at the MCG the crowd will crucify him. 7 days of hard work & long nights.....

Anyone for cricket?
as i said he would be stiff, it will depend so much on the pitch and weather i am guessing.

Anyone for cricket?
siddle would be stiff, but we got to win this test. is he going to take wickets & or hold up an end??
-
Anyone for cricket?
he would have to be under extremely serious contention, Ponting is also such a worry right now-But he is the captain, but he has made about 30 runs in this series...Big decisions and late nights this week. My God that was a belter of a pitch at the WACA, more of those please. Batting and bowling both achievable with application.

can the team carry Clarke again?? Not only is he out of form, the Back injury is still there. Backs do not heal in weeks. we need a number 4 for the next 2 games. Who is the right person?

The Poms could be back in this, although Swan dropping Siddle maybe crucial, with 5+ sessions to play Australia will need to still make runs from this point. Hussey's best innings for a long time, Good on him, but we still need more.... the pitch is still good so no reason England won't make runs. A true Test this one. Hopefully Johnson going for 1 won't put his bowling off in the second dig.

Watson has done a great job opening no doubt, i just think the side could get more out of him if he batted lower and was thus able to bowl more. We do have a lot of openers around the country who are yet to wear a baggy. But Hats off to him for his Batting. He has been given a job and done it well, still missed that century though....he just can't crack it.

Ponting out for 1 again. He must go down the list-it's time. Get over it Ricky, we all get old. Our Batsmen have got to dig in and Bat All Day Tomorrow.....Its Test Cricket. Go Slow and careful, Break the Poms who are down a bowler. We don't need to win tomorrow-We need to win. So dig in for the long haul. EDIT: so CLARKE is out for 20.....is that good enough??? I think not.

Psychology plays a huge part, small changes with massive effect. which is why our top order is failing-They are mentally stale....

The selectors have spent the last 2 years looking for a spin bowler to replace S K. The Top order has been sadly neglected, and now it's in need of the complete rebuild. Clarke should have been dropped. Ponting should be batting at 5-6. Cameron White & Ferguson should have been given an extended chance to prove themselves throughout the past year. Watson has done a stirling job as an opener, but it's not his spot. Which is why he goes out for 50-60, he cannot maintain concentration past that point. He should be batting further down. This has also ruined the chances of Hughes-Being picked on his current form has all but buried his baggy green-That has been a terrible oversight by the selectors. Hughes has one more innings to resurrect himself There's a good start RR, although i know you will disagree, but hey i expect that.

Aah i see it has turned interesting-Been out all morning doing Christmas shopping. So Johnson has fired up i am guessing-Cool. I still say the selectors need to go because of our rusty old Top order, but its good to see the Tail is having a red hot Crack. Yes and it is a funny old game-and there will be more lessons learnt in the next 2 1/2 days. Which is why i hate 20/20 so much. B) Edit: Wow just saw a scorecard Johnson 4-7!! Wish i had seen that...Whatever Mitchell did in the Carpark last week must have worked!!! Not suprised though after his batting yesterday...he looked hungry again.. Will the Poms Tail wag??

Anyone for cricket?

I really hope they select a completely different batting line up to the test XI, Bowling is not so crucial. This pitch today is a beauty, nothing wrong with it!!
