Loved Waverely Park, for me it was a 15min drive.

Yes the car park was mud but if you knew how to drive it was OK. never got bogged.

Same era you would have similar conditions at the G

Facilities there where great for the day, food etc were good.

Even saw Kiss there, my ears still hurt.

Those Pink Hot Dogs were disgusting!!!

With the 20 litre Sauce bottles, they could shoot across the room!!!

    Facilities were atrocious…

Wasn’t Waverley the site of the Packer cricket circus, and the site of the world’s first drop in wicket?

Yes i went to those first WSC Games at Waverley

Fantastic Games with very small crowds, but it didn’t take long to catch on

1991. Think Angry Anderson and the batmobile. And Lisa Ondeiki's hubby trying not to kill himself laughing.

(edit: oh. "only" GF. Still, worth it to remember the batmobile.)

I have Roy and HG Commentary for the whole afternoon on VHS at home

one of the biggest laughs that one

    Angry in the Batmobile.
i think that’s when i realised that the AFL was run by complete [censored]

afl maintain this should be a broadcast cost, not an afl cost

the afl won't pay for anything that they absolutely positively 100% don't have to

Pathetic Cop out of the highest order…

    Couldn't agree more.

I've learned to switch off the ear splitting music but pretty sure its still happening.

One thing that was an improvement was a solo Robbo on the mic for the entertainment between quarters.

His screachy side kick that sounded like nails running down a chalk board in 22 & 23 was NOT present.  Small mercies!

You can be sure that nothing will change. That new AFL CEO Andrew Dillon is an absolute wet blanket

BUY SOME PROPER GOAL LINE CAMERAS AT EACH GROUND YOU CHEAP BASTARDS

There is nothing worse than AFL suits

    what a vile organisation

  8. As a Demon Member who is overseas, i find it appalling that all this new Technology is failing. Anyone should still be able to make a late decision and say “let’s go to the game..” and you go

it’s just so bad that Members have paid good coin and then have to put up with these Apps that don’t work

i just wish each club handled their own Members

This is just more AFL Game Day Experience RUBBISH

Do they still play Music between each Quarters at ear splitting levels so that you can’t talk to anyone??

  9. Listening to the Podcast from the grey skies of Southern Thailand. Hearing Enzo again got me laughing.

Binman has a complete love affair with Goodwin

Yes we all know the win/loss ratio, but of course there was no mention of losing 4 finals in a row at The MCG.

There is internal pressure on Goodwin to perform this year. He has to use this list of players a lot better than previous years. I hope he does.
    Time will tell…..

    ^ This

Maclure is framing if that's what it's called - when the journo builds a (in this case completely biased) picture to create a story, agenda or shape an outcome. Keep slinging mud at Melbourne home crowds and ignore the facts such as the Bulldog fans chain doesn't stretch that far from the kennel and the number of games we play there v interstate sides. He'll then point to average attendances and also ignore the impact of playing in Alice, Tassie or under-construction Geelong. He'll then go on to say Melbourne doesn't deserve to play at the G when other teams are pulling bigger crowds. Carlton, for example, deserves to be playing more games there instead...yada yada yada vomit

We have to stop playing in the NT for that exact reason

Clubs like Carlscum will push their agenda every year

I'd hate to see an NT based team. Too sparsely populated in Alice Springs and way too hot in Darwin.

I think a third Perth club should be looked at. They produce bucket loads of talent, would make more local derby's and if you had to play two of their teams in Perth you could schedule them back to back and stay in the city for both games and amortise the travel Liabilty. (Also think this should be considered for the WA games interstate some times).

Playing in the NT over a whole season is ludicrous. Going from that heat to games in Melbourne and Tasmania regularly would make the players sick, no doubt about it

I can’t understand how more people don’t see this is an issue. I believe the best thing to do is fold a current Victorian club, yes that’s an unpopular view and won’t happen. 18 clubs works, the AFL won’t stop at 19 they’ll have to make it 20. But don’t panic anyone just think how much more they’ll make at the next broadcast deal. We are not America, they have a population of 340 million we’re hovering around 25 million. Yes Tasmania deserve a team but it must come at the expense of an existing club.

North should have been Told to move to The Gold Coast

A very poor decision that we will have to put up with for decades

done nothing? drafted very well, made finals, developed players and a culture. So until he wins a flag he’s on 1 year deals?

they were a rabble before he came

Flogmantle are still downhill skiers, last year they were put under pressure and they fell over very easily.
They are still Meth Cokes little brother

we shall see. if you want your leader worried about his future all year and making decisions on the here and now rather than the future.

i think it’s disrespectful given what he has done there. he’s made them a respectable decent team. if they get a few injuries and miss finals, is he sacked? or maybe scrape through for another year deal

No, he has done nothing so far… That’s the whole point. He has an extra year. 2024 he must perform

Keen to hear the thoughts of those posters who practically wrote our season off and blasted the coach and players after our loss last week.

Some remarkably definitive comments were made, given we were beaten on the home deck of a pretty good team that the bookies had as slight fav.

    You know who you are.

No doubt you will analyse it all for hours and hours during the week
