Tell Crypto.com to pay for it, since they love the advertisement during those ARC reviews. Btw, they should use spider cameras to have a bird's eye view of the action.

Spider Cameras can be one of many options available. There should be no hidden angle.
I want to see the AFL spend some money on the game, and not themselves for a change

Maybe the AFL can you use this fan’s phone for reviews. Pretty clear the ball deflects when you slow it down, maybe harder during real speed.

The AFL should all be sacked over this. But of course they will all survive.
They had 6 months to fully sort this out after the Adelaide debacle, and have done Sweet F$&@ all.
The Arc is pathetic. They spend time reviewing shots that are clearly fine, but refuse to make serious calls because the Cameras are total garbage

we the Fans and the Clubs must demand that the AFL fit 4k Cameras at every AFL VENUE

Paid for by the AFL, not the Broadcaster

Maybe the suits will have to take a Pay Cut

  3. So the AFL have admitted that the Carlton goal was the WRONG decision.

GET SOME DECENT 4k Cameras fitted at every game ya Cheap Bastards.

All Clubs should go on strike until this is completely sorted out

It makes a mockery of the whole Competition

how I despise the useless overpaid suits who run the AFL

Nth have had plenty of drubbings too. Their percentage has been woeful for years.

If you look at the past 4 years, it's worse than any 4 year period we had during Bailey or Neild years.

    Nth:
    2023 - 3 wins
    2022 - 2 wins
    2021 -4 wins
    2020 - 3 wins*(out of 17 games)

Melbourne's three year bad patch of 2012,2013 and 2014 (where signs of recovery were obvious)  yielded 4, 2 and 4 wins.  2011 had 8 wins. 2015 had 7 wins. We won 5 games in 2008 and 2009.

They've had 4 very bad years in a row. If they have another bad year (as I stated in my post) without showing obvious signs of improvement they need help. I stand by that.

    It’s too late now

Tassie will have first crack at all the Young Talent

North should have gone to The Gold Coast, but James Brayshaw said “no, i will save them..”

I have zero sympathy for this club

I didn’t say it can’t affect things, I said it is not important. This was especially so in a Melbourne context where it had no discernible effect on us last year. That was the whole point of the trend/noise discussion - umpiring variability can affect things in the very short term but, overall, it has such little impact that it’s barely worth thinking about. Certainly not the obsession that seems to be in this thread.

As for the metaphor, it is to help people understand what is being spoken about. The point had originally been made with noise and trend but this way was more inclusive for those who may not have understood the concept. As a recovering teacher, I usually prefer to help people access new concepts. If you already understood it then you didn’t need the help.

    It’s also more fun.

    Umpires certainly F$&@ Adelaide’s 2023 Season.
personally i think you underestimate their influence

It was a good win, but I don't know why, when we get 5 or 6 goals in front we play defensively and try to save the game  That was a great opportunity for a 10 goal win that we missed.

Be glad when Bowey comes back and can take Billings spot.

I think the whole team ran out of Gas last night.
it was a fantastic effort to defensively hold Adelaide to a loss

He was good in the first quarter as well. He busted his guts last night. My only criticism is he sometimes reverts to long bombs. We've been treated to how well he passes and, then again, many of his possessions are in the middle of scrimmages and guess who is always in the middle of them? I love the guy.

I think he long bombs so often because he is using so much strength to break free.
He was well tagged early, but was still a huge contributor

Sparrow played a really good game. 98% midfield,  huge pressure stats and a brilliant desperate smother resulting in the Tracc goal

    Key grunt worker

Top Game, he played well against Port too.
A lot of his work goes unnoticed. Sparrow is a very important player, moreso now that Angus has been Forced to Retire

I thought Kozzie was the victim of a blatantly high tackle right in front of goal very early in the game.

    Apparently I was hallucinating.

Certainly was. Took his F$&@ing head off!!

    Play on 😡

Yep agree with that. It certainly compounded the problems we’ve had as a club prior to Jackson, Roos and co. Less so now, and if Caulfield allows us to continually have the best facilities in the league for the next 50 years then we’re going to be better positioned than Collingwood & Richmond who will themselves have to be looking elsewhere

Exactly. Now let me clarify, the Bentleigh Club and Leaoak were great purchases and i give him credit for those , but they didn’t assist in getting Training Facilities, which is what the core Business of The Club is. Winning games of Football.
My Biggest worry with Gutnick was that he didn’t look far enough into the Future, there were ways to raise money back then, but he wasn’t interested.

Perhaps over the last 20 years but the Lexus Centre itself has a shelf life, just like Punt Road. As a facility it’ll drift towards the back of the pack given the limited space / development potential

Sure, but it would have been fantastic in 1998-99 when it was first offered. And it would have given us great bargaining power within the Competition.Big Name Players would have come to the MFC.
Everything has a shelf life, but we are still trying to find a block of land, other clubs have redeveloped and rebuilt 2-3 times

Still, he put in more dosh than anyone else ever has, by far. And at a time when the well was bone dry in terms of club finances. There was sweet fa chance of us being able to finance the Olympic swimming pool redevelopment. Also worth remembering the Olympic park running track (now Pies training oval) wasn't part of the original plan, it came later due to Eddie's 'coercion'

I understand all that. But while Joe was in charge, there was no negotiation. I say this because I worked with a Board Member at the time, I got daily updates on how hard it was to do anything. Yes Joe donated a large chunk, but it did come at a cost

An odd comment when the club got $2.7M  of the $3M that he originally promised.   Rounding down to nearest $100 thou that is say about $2.7M than MFC will get from me (and others) in 60 years of support.

If Joe had been smarter, he could have engaged a lot of Members to financially contribute and we would have gotten another $5-6 Mill

But he didn’t. Joe was King for a short time and we are still waiting to find a base

Why oh why do D/ers  not understand that at this stage no proposal is completed to be refused  overlooked or written off.

our Caulfield project is far from finalised so a specific authorised application has not been refused. The stakeholders are not ready yet but it is gaining momentum and priority.

Oh and the post about the Lexus Centre location not being chosen was and it is well known a walk up case of no money to put in. Joe G had just saved us from merging/ possible extinction but still it’s used again incorrectly as an opportunity missed with no mention of the fact that the funds were not available at the time in our finances.

Joe never bothered to speak to Members about anything. And the money he did put in, had to be surgically removed from his pocket long after the promise was made.

    We are still nomadic

Grill'd have very questionable ethics. Offer trainee wages and get taxpayer subsidies for it. I refuse to eat anywhere that does'nt pay their employees a fair wage, and then they still charge $17 a burger!

Dead right mate. I won’t go near those joints.
I questioned a manager on Glenhuntly Road about 7 years ago about wages at grill’d and he wouldn’t say a word.
