I got told off for my habit of being a little sarcastic and nasty when talking to my friends and now as a result I have changed to a full time, saccharine sweet guy, giving off continual compliments to them and it is driving them crazy.
Ooh no. What a hideous job to be burdened with!

I'm thinking we're ending up at an agree to disagree kinda place here SWYL.
If he's well connected and he cares so much, then why don't he have the info Richo had and/or isn't he talking the same tune as the leadership?
Max, Viney and Goody & Co are the leaders that took us to a flag and 3 top 4 finishes in as many years - something we never really came close to in Schwartz's time at the club.
I'll back them over anything Schwartz has to bleat on about.
I don’t really give a Flying Mate
Richo and the boys are Talking Club Talk ok, Media 101
Don’t underestimate the The Ox, he is able to speak unimpeaded. He still has very strong connections with the Club.
It has been a shocker of a preseason, don’t try and sugar coat it.-

Yeah, nah. Read the article it says he has no real knowledge to speak of, he's just assuming and adding to the pile on. If he loves the place, he needs to learn not to be such a loose cannon and just adding to the external pressure.
If he's really concerned, why not get more involved and have a chat to Maxy or Richo?
He would know more than he is letting on David is still well connected at the Club.
I have no problem with him having a go, he isn’t lying. It’s been a very poor off season

Thanks.
Haven't listened yet - what's was Garry Lyons take?
It's been somewhat disappointing for one of our past greats in David Schwarz to go adding to the pile on without any real evidence to speak of:
BTW, from what I recall of the story of Schwartz's influence on club culture with gambling, he's the last one that should be having go at the club on this basis or blasting other player's for their off feild problems - apparently some forms of addiction and abuse are more forgivable than others. Loved him as a player (On feild), but from what I can see, I think his contribution to the club since has been overly negative and critical at times, which is disappointing.
Whenever the Ox has had a go at The Club, it has been warranted
He loves the place.

I see Anna Pavlou of channel 9 wide world of sports writes that Oliver was "sent back to vfl level" for the practice match.
Couldn't she have managed to write "champ stars in vfl practice match".
I have had a complete gutful of football media. Big cull coming in my consumption of this garbage.
I think on the whole the young men playing AFL/vfl football are a fine group of people. There will be stumbles. And many come from difficult backgrounds. But overall, great.
Always looking for a error from any player from any team.
So, Anna, no Pulitzer prize for you but you are in the running for the Kane Cornes Award . Prize is a dictionary.
Anna graduated in media (football) from Latrobe in 2022 so there is a fair chance, along with Kane, she would struggle to spell "cat".
“Um… K.A.T…?”

You don't think he would have copped it at VFL level? He's ready to play and he's the quality we need to replace Pickett.
Practice games and the real thing are 2 very different matters

Yep. But i am not saying a word
Clarry has got to be both mentally and physically strong to be part of the team. 100% ready for 2 hours of heat

Correct, but it will be ongoing. He has got to be ready to deal with it and play well.
that may take time, i wouldn’t rush it -

That’s not so from all the press or even what Gawny has said.
Clarry is going to cop a lot of Banter on field from the opposing teams.
He has got to be ready for it and strong enough to overcome it-

Bad news stories in the offseason are frustrating because there's really nothing that can be done to put them to bed until the matches start.
I just pay them as little attention as I can and try to move on with my life. If and when the season starts and we're losing games, then I'll panic. Until then it's Fugazi. All we can control over Summer is “Attitude” within the group.
Now i hope the entire Football Department is Filthy on the AFL and it’s 17 other Clubs for Losing Brayshaw to a player who not only, was not Suspended, but collected a Premiership Medallion at the expense of our Player.
If the players can harness that aggression through the season, We are a Big ShowBig Max won’t forget his mate

The only way The Media will write different stories is for the MFC to win games, they would have had a story ready to go last night, but it didn’t happen.
Now last night means bugger all, but it does show an attitude, which impressed me on a Hot night.
The new blood who came in all performed well.
I am sure Sir Max will get the side ready in the absence of Brayshaw,A.
the Swans won’t be easy but they are missing key players.
Missing Kozz will hurt us, so Billings and Tom Sparrow must kick goals.
The SCG being a Toy Ground doesn’t help, but going straight down the guts can score quick goalsWe can win… “Attitude”

If we can get games like that out of Sparrow this season we’re laughing.
Lots to like tonight, we will miss Kozzie next week, but others need to step up in his absence.C’meth the man Sparrow
i hope the Club have put it to him, Angus has been forced out. Tom Sparrow you are the one to step up. He has serious talent, he was a solid contributor in the ‘21 GF
Good Luck Tom…

I just hate everything to do with the Racing Industry, i am still furious that they were allowed to fully continue to operate during Full LockdownPolitics at Play

We absolutely should and we absolutely asked the question. The MCC knows the funding is subject to them being impartial.
But we are constitutionally part of The MCC
Being impartial shouldn’t have anything to do with it. We are the only Club in the League who must share facilities

There's everything wrong with training on open parkland meters away from one of the busiest roads in Melb, regardless of it being resurfaced recently. FCS, even Arden Street now has a high fence of sorts around it!
That we (and Coll) won a flag training from Goshes is both a miracle in itself, and a disappointment as to how much better we could be during this rate period of success had we world class facilities. We lean heavily on Casey Fields because it's so much better than what we have in town
Have you been to Gosch’s Park?
It is a beautiful surface, we lack nothing by training there

You do realise we will never again have regular MFC training on the G? That's la-la thinking.
Which leaves Goshes and surrounding public grassed area 🤮
Nothing wrong with Gosch’s Park Surface.
i often wonder how hard we push the MCC for 1-2 training runs a week, nobody has ever given me a definitive answer, that includes Phone calls to the MCC.As a Full MCC Member since 1981 it’s a shame my contribution doesn’t help the boys run on the ‘G midweek
It is our ancestry

So let's look forward to the next 5 years, rather than look back 20 years. We need to have roots down somewhere soon, because who knows what might happen once our current era of success wanes, as it does for all successful premiership clubs.
Run with me for a moment WYL... Imagine if mid year we announce a brand new facility at CRC with gym, pool, admin, large indoor space and 2 or 3 ovals AND we back that up with another flag in 2024. Another flag could help snare us a couple of gun FAs next year and extend our window.
Or, we wait, and wait, and wait, and continue with our current s***house set up and slowly drop back to the cellar as Max, Maysie, Viney, Trac and Salo retire, and Goody moves on to a big 4 club
We can win a Flag right now. I am happy to have facilities, i just don’t think it’s a great idea sharing with CRC. Time will tell
