  1. Headhunted in the sense that he did not approach us, he was busy at The Chamber of Commerce, he has an unfinished project to complete…no he wasn’t first choice, but he was our final choice, which means he must have presented very well.
  2. Goodwin should walk if we lose to Meth Coke, and kick 1 goal in the last Quarter His core job is to get the very best out of the players he ultimately selected for the game. If he wants to keep the Head Coaching job we need to be on a decent winning streak…
  3. I have doubts on Caulfield right now. I think the Mount Scopus Building will take a long time and we are down the pecking order Maybe Guerra will change that dynamic, we will find out
  4. CEO is the most important job off field within the Club. Paul has obviously been headhunted by the MFC, and has said words to the effect… ā€œyes i will do it, but let me finish the project i am currently working onā€ I have no problem with that, The Board obviously rate his credentials highly, so let David be the CEO for a few more months If there is a crisis that must be dealt with Guerra will be in the loop
  5. Suprised by the reaction on here. Our new CEO has obviously been working on a big project, that he wants to see through. Due diligence I would call it. I would believe he will still be in serious contact with the MFC Board during this year. We have a CEO running the Club at present, the seat is not vacant. Let the guy finish his commitments so that he joins with a clean slate
  6. After the Maynard Case, believe nothing from the MRO
  7. Interstate followed by a serious opponent at home Perfect scenario
  8. Having watched the 2 Interviews on YouTube, Paul sounds like a breath of fresh air, lot of enthusiasm Could be a great appointment, let’s see how it pans out…
  9. Drank a slab of Melbourne Bitter with my Dad that night Listening to Doug Heywood’s commentary
  10. Sorry i honestly don’t understand the Top Paragraph. We made Top 4 2 years in a row and blew it on the MCG, at that point in time Simon should have been thanked with a dignified send off and replaced by another voice. Sadly Roffey and Pert thought differently and we are where we are…
  11. Quite possibly, but that’s why he needs to push himself Signed a big contract and then went off the rails…
  12. That’s what it is..he hasn’t gone to the elite fitness he had, and can only perform in shorter bursts at this stage. He is on big $$’s and needs to get better…
  13. Sure it’s a Golden Ticket, but we blew it Twice on our home Deck in consecutive years. That’s very bad, however you Dress it up. We choked….(Crash & Burn) Finish 6th…. No one expected Hawthorn to win the Flag in ā€˜08, least of all themselves, in reality Jeeelong Choked it. So it took the Hawks a few years to reload and get a 3peat With the list we had accumulated in ā€˜21 we should have achieved a lot more, but our trading of Senior Players has been horrendous which is something Goodwin is partially involved in Losing Burgess was a huge setback i admit, but i still think a fresh voice would have been beneficial after the ā€˜23 Season, sadly we will never know The next 2 games are very interesting in terms of where we really are this year. Win them both with solid performances and Goodwin may claw his way back…
  14. The evidence doesn’t lie
  15. The next 2 weeks should give a pretty solid indication of what the future holds
  16. If Hawthorn had 12 AA’s after 2015, that is excellent recruitment and Development, which we should be aspiring towards. Not many people thought we would crash and burn after ’21, but that is the reality After ā€˜23 it was time for a new voice with fresh Assistant’s, but no Pert had write up a new Contract. The situation with Oliver was a lot worse than what was reported in the Media, and it has caused a lot of angst. It is now improving, but there are still scars to be sorted
  17. I am talking about Hawthorn winning a 3peat after Franklin left the Club. And yes i think losing 4 finals in 2 years on our home Ground is a worse scenario than what Hawthorn did after 08
  18. Where did i ever say Clarkson should be sacked? Hawthorn won the 2013 Flag with Franklin and then won the next 2 without him. We win a Flag and implode Adversity doesn’t bother the Top Sides, (mostly) they just work harder Losing 2 straight sets final series on the MCG is enough to change Coaches in my opinion, I believe we missed a serious moment there, but it’s in the past. I also wonder why it takes 2 years to teach a list to play ā€œRun and Carryā€ Football….
  19. Absolutely, he is not fit enough, he needs that extra 1-2% of commitment. He has improved on last year, but he can only play like ā€œClarryā€ in short bursts at the moment
  20. I am not disagreeing with any of that, but all Clubs face adversity every year. Franklin went to Sydney and the Hawks won the next 2 Flags. We do not handle adversity well. The skill level in the first 5 rounds was deplorable, including a 10 goal loss to North. Goodwin should have been moved on with a Handshake at the end of 2023, if we are being totally serious, rather than given an extension, considering what had been allowed to happen with Oliver. But that is my opinion as you have yours, the biggest issue we lost was Burgess. We have lost our edge in fitness preparation and at the moment cannot run out 4 Quarters, and for that to include 16 Premiership Players (who should know what it takes) is a very bad look
  21. With 16 Premiership Players still representing the Club, we should be a Top Side, that’s the whole point Maybe I expect higher standards than you
  22. We will find out…. I want full pressure from the Demons next weekend
  23. Shocking decision on Mckay
  24. I have Brayshaw and Jab Watson
  25. Season is wide open still You only have to be 1% off Will Jeeelong come home strong?? They have in games so far this year
