  1. Oh yes Ponting could hit a Ton against Bangladesh....But what's the point?? Time to go now, make room for the kiddies PLAN B: There were quite a few bowling combinations that didn't get a run, even against the minnows....very Boring and conservative coaching i thought. The Batting middle order was only changed when it was too late, D Hussey left out the side Did Hastings bowl at all? He couldn't have done a worse job than johnson sadly. Mitchell can bowl superbly but he doesn't have the ticker to do it enough.
  2. i am not saying ponting's innings last night was not top shelf-but i do not want to wait another 12 months just in case he hits another ton. He either retires now or is played at number 6 (not as captain) I agree completely with the bowling...We went to the world cup with a Plan A, if that failed....we still went in with a Plan A.
  3. It is now time for Ponting to go, unless he wishes to be a number 6 Batsmen-regardless of his great innings last night. Now is the time to step aside, as in reality he has been struggling to hit top form for the last 2 years. It is now time for a complete clean sheet on & off the field. Geelong had no idea it had a future Premiership captain when Tom Harley walked into the club from Port after one game, by this i mean-The Future Australian Test Side is out there, it has to be bought together. The current Australian side has been running continuously in a way since 1989-A magnificent effort, but like an old family dog-The time has come for that last trip to the Vet. It's Over.
  4. sure we can win, but we have to bowl real well, and we have just used up a review early. This game is going to go right down to the wire. Tait and johnson need to be spot on tonight. Cometh the man.
  5. Yes that 34 could be the difference....Billions of indians are very nervous right now.
  6. Ponting 102 not out. 243-5 two overs to bowl.. Wack anything now!!! Update...Ponting out for 104....is that his last innings???? At least we have set the Curries a target...
  7. Krejza did bowl well, and deserved more than one wicket, without getting those faint edges. Brett Lee was outstanding. We just didn't get out of 2nd gear whilst batting. Will india play for a win or a quiet loss tonight? The result will make for very different opponents.....
  8. Australia all out for 176...Looked very ordinary. Let's see how crappy the wicket is...if in fact the wicket is carp!
  9. HaHa The indians would have gone quiet last night!!!
  10. To be sure, To be sure...Kevin O'brien you Absolute Legend!!! What a superb day....for the Poms!
  11. Both side would have a bad case of "What If's" TU. The game may cost both teams dearly down the track-but almost THE perfect 50 over game-Had it all. I hope that the 50 over game survives-If both teams are equal then it is a great form of cricket.
  12. A classic 50 over match...had everything. England were cruising until spin absolutely halted their run rate mid innings. In the last 2-3 overs England got the momentum back.
  13. Another Sub Continent Road by the sounds of it, who would be a bowler...Still it's not over yet!!
  14. Golden Line there HT..! Cracked me up at work.. GO THE DUTCH...I have travelled through Amsterdam & survived-They know how to party, and hopefully beat English cricketers!
  15. Excellent we badly need an upset or else these first 3 weeks are really going to Drag....keep us posted HT.
  16. HaHaHaHa! Ya cheeky Bugger-You owe me a beer or two for that remark!!!
  17. There is no parking at the Wick. its Rubbish, i live 10 minutes away from there. The highway means the traffic doesn't stop.
  18. ok fine, so let's sell it and find a better alternative. No problem at all But i seriously believe the club needs a social club called the MFC social club so that we can attend during the week. That's my point. It doesn't have to be the Bentleigh Club, but we do need somewhere that is advertised as the MFC social club.
  19. Call it the MELBOURNE FOOTBALL SOCIAL CLUB & advertise events & functions-People will go. At present the name Bentliegh club just does not cut it. We need somewhere to go as a club, if it is not the Bentleigh Club, sell it-But the place does have potential At present it is vastly under used IMO
  20. Wow, wish i had seen that-Don't have Foxtel at present.!
  21. Hilfy is really struggling now isn't he...that last ashes series in England he was our strike bowler. Sad when it happens..
  22. Quite possibly, but how far can you trust Dodgy Hamstrings in the middle of a World Cup, it's too risky at his age.
  23. Tait can bowl, no question, it's just his body will not allow him. Krejza may have no form in Australia so to speak, but he has turned it on in India, even if it was only one. 8 wickets is 8 wickets, so i am glad he is going over there. Tait is a game by game proposition.
  24. Krejza is a major gamble, but a good one. He has got nothing to lose, so i hope he plays his best cricket ever next month. Who knows what the indian decks will be like??? That would be a science in itself, preparing Indian pitches! Still think Brett Lee will be a major key to how far we progress. Will his old body hang together? Hussey's Hamstring(s) were never going to be ready for the world cup, that was major surgery that needs time to heal, similiar to Junior Mac. No point in breaking down during the first or second game...
  25. Krejza on Indian decks is well worth a gamble...He bowled a few nice ones in Perth. (Even Tong Grieg praised him!!) Practise games are over, now we will know how hard the Poms were trying. (i take nothing away from the Australians, but you could tell the Poms wanted to go home after the Ashes)-that was the job. Bring on the WC.
