  1. Nothing has been written in stone Dame, but departments are being splintered particularly in Radio. Both the AM & PM shows are shorter and more programs are being syndicated around the country than before. Catalyst is no more, now “Specials” will be made. It worries me that we now have more channels to play programs, but we make less of them. Royal Commissions have been called after 4 Corners programs have gone to air, and that is a good thing i believe i hope the ABC remains a part of Australian Communications long after i am gone, but nobody knows where TV and Radio will end up in 5 years technology moves so fast now the Smartphone has changed everything so much ABC Iview is a great App Everyone else is catching up to us on that one! The way of the modern world.
  2. Most people are happy to put the boots into the ABC (Television and Wireless), but if it ever goes completely, then I guarantee within hours it will be missed. Try to imagine a Journalism standard akin to “Today Tonight” or “FOX News” as the ONLY News Source.... Kill me now
  3. The Managing Director has an agenda. Previously she worked for Rupert
  4. But from what was written up yesterday, The AFL are going to go it alone. That’s why this conversation continues
  5. Too much money is involved for the AFL to do nothing. This is exactly why the term “bringing the game into disrepute” was invented
  6. Thanks dc interesting reading
  7. Unions in the cities have been smashed Faulty. Most kids i have spoken to don’t know what a Union Membership is, and work 2-3-4 jobs on short notice. The Mining Industry i am not privvy to. It is a big problem for the ALP. The Liberals still have ideas that are relevant inside Toorak!!
  8. Since all the Utilities (Gas, Water, Electricity, Public Transport) were sold off by the State and Federal Governments in the 90’s there is a much smaller gap between parties. Taxing is their only way of revenue raising. The ALP has an image problem today. What do they stand for?, unions have been smashed, we are heading down the American road which scares the sh!t out of me. The LNP is definately scared of The ABC and Guthrie, ( The MD) is doing a job to dilute. Losing “lateline” is so obvious. The young generations have got to decide whether they want the truth or the corporate truth? Social Media may be what saves us, but the sources must stay clean
  9. Our 12 Premierships are in Black and White....
  10. This is the other side of the Broadcast deal. So much money has changed hands that the AFL is now a law unto itself. No wonder they wanted to be the Jury of Essendrug. They had to join the WADA Code. But this is not WADA. The AFL don’t care about laws within Countries. They will take one of their employees (players) to task regardless. I was waiting for this, the money paid to broadcasters was just too much. We don’t know what was or wasn’t done, ( i have been told who is involved) The AFL is now “big brother”, the trade off for player wages being so high. I have been interested in the fact that the AFLPA have said nothing, which is why i thought this chapter was not over A dangerous road is being carved. Regardless of whether anything was done, the AFL are now Lawmakers beyond the game of football.
  11. Tim would have got double the wage to go to 3AW and GTV 9 remember Eddie was a thorn in his side. I doubt Gerard is getting anywhere near that from SEN, but his AFL 360 Terms would be pretty good. The ABC will survive, we always do. Managing Directors come and go
  12. Ease up. Dr Turf has been a clever, successful and funny bastard since his days on 3RRR A lot of the topics he raised with KB were very worthy of discussion and no i am not gambler or horse lover of any note. The Jon Ralph hours were far worse
  13. Agreed 100% makes me angry when i read on here supporters saying that the draft is a total lottery, i am not saying it is rock solid correct, nothing in this life is. But the MFC blew pick after pick and kept on promoting Blazers and Past Glories. The Club was a complete shambles and if it had been the 90’s we would not be here now. The Toumpas/Wines selection i shall never understand. One player was a gun, the other had 2 shot hips.... Luke Ball was the other. We should have stood up as a club. The Filth were allowed to cheat...
  14. Garry Lyon is awful on radio. His voice is just not suited the station is mad if they don’t hear this
  15. Well there you go. Good call Gorgoth SEN just got serious. Still should have kept The Ox
  16. Yes, we still have a long way to go and there are about 4 sides who are in the same position around us
  17. I want to see Hogan kick 5 in a Quarter against a Top 4 side He is still to hit Top Gear...
  18. Really, have heard nothing about that. I wait with interest...
  19. Aim for the shoulder at the first bounce Jesus won’t help hom Jeelong really sh!t me
  20. Not at all. That tripe is just not funny
  21. That is on the AFL website??
  22. It doesn’t matter how hard the Club works, once we have hit a certain level. We simply have to win crucial games to back up that hard work or else it means nothing. That’s why i was angry last season when the club produced a video clip of “Jones getting to September” in July. The team didn’t play in September and Jones was part of that reason People inside the club cannot help themselves. That last 1 or 2 % to actually deliver. We always fall short
  23. This is the direct result of losing in Round 23 last season. Supporters have had enough. Slogans won’t save us. Winning big and small games will. Cut the crap Demons
