  1. This has been going on all year. Lyon slammed Kennett on TFS following Kennett getting stuck into us about appointing Lyon. http://www.foxsports...from=public_rss http://wwos.ninemsn.com.au/afl/footyshow/video pg3 of the videos 12minutes in
  2. Cooney has little to no cartilage left in his knee making it extremely painful to run, Scully has a previous patella injury which may cause him to struggle with large training loads (according to doc Larkin). Whilst they are both knee injuries they are quite different.
  3. It's quite funny the amount of people talking about Tapscott as a Backman. Bailey put a square peg in a round hole IMO & now everyone thinks that's his position. It's the clubs responsibility to get this kid super fit so he can run through the midfield & play half fwd flank similar to Chapman.
  4. My main observation was that their forward press wasn't as good as what we have known it to be in the past. Injuries & fatigue I think took there toll. It's a taxing game style on all players.

The Senior coach is responsible for coaching & coaching alone. Craig will oversee, support & advise the coaching, player development & physical conditioning. All pretty broad elements of the FD which IMO would be too much for the senior coach to take on. Whilst Neeld may be capable of doing it, I don't think it has ever been part of the senior coachs job description. The only minor doubt I have about this appointment is that he is reporting to Cameron Schwab & not the board. He may also report to the board but from what I read on the MFC website that isn't the case.

I agree. Whilst Craig may not be that useful in the coaching realm for Neeld, Craig would have valuable experience in developing players technical ability as well as helping them develop physically. If we can squeeze an extra 2-5% out of players physically in terms of their endurance, power & strength etc that can sometimes be the difference between winning & losing especially at the highest level. I don't think Craig as a coach would be that valuable to us however he has a reputation for getting the most out of his players in terms of preparation & fitness. When the club is competing against clubs with larger budgets such as Collingwood a person like Neil Craig would be a valuable asset for the sports science knowledge he possesses alone.
  7. Confirmed on the club website. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7415/newsid/123814/default.aspx
  8. He was at Sydney for their premiership, followed Ross Lyon across to St.Kilda. I suggested the club go hard for him years ago as his record with keeping players on the park is second to none. If it's true he is coming across I'd be extremely happy.

Maybe CC should be in a marketing role if that's the case.
  10. Yeh because robbo set such a great example as a player with all his chasing, tackling & overall team play!
  11. Maybe an iPhone issue? Quite funny really. Of the players mentioned only warnock would have any real trade value left as KPBs are in demand. He may fetch a second round pick at best. Something to consider if we are looking at bringing in a quality player as we could use the second rnd pick with our first rnd pick to get a deal done.
  12. Pretty sure it's for the back of the jumper only.
  13. Yeh I agree, from memory I recall kaspersky paying more in sponsorship than Hankook at the time. Pretty sure that Hankook is paying 700k per year.
  14. The club is receiving $5mil over 3 years currently. $0.7 for the front & $1 mil for the back roughly. Skews your logic a little bit, but the club looks like it will double the current deals in place.
  15. So who are you gunning for? What are the issues you'd like to see resolved with the current admin?
  16. The board is made up of strong business people, probably the most credentialed board in the AFL. They need someone with experience of being in a football dept who also can relate to the business side of football.
  17. Apologies, that does make a lot more sense!
  18. No just surprised that a senior coach who is still in his position would blab to someone that he doesnt know from a bar of soap about a position that wasn't even vacant.
  19. No worries, sounds like your mates full of B/S
  20. So he was applying for a job that wasn't even vacant at the time, nice.
  21. Can't disagree really. However in any business/organisation if there are issues within your working environment that are being ignored after you asked your employer to have a look at them your obviously not going to be very happy about going to work there everyday. A few of the messages we are hearing are a bit conflicting as I have heard CS on radio stating the club is focusing on creating an environment that players would want to stay. Then we hear stories in the media about player revolt etc. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle of all the things we are hearing. The Andrews report would make very interesting reading, if the issues raised in it arent looked at & resolved we can say goodbye to TS if he isnt already gone.
  22. This really puts life & all things into perspective. He has been through so much & more is still to come. Get well Jim, the club needs to sort itself out for your sake if anything. Have a hard look at yourselves MFC!
  23. Wouldn't surprise me re Sylvia. Bit of guesswork here but since the Bulldogs game his form has been shite. Wonder if contract talks started that week?
  24. After thinking further about how we could bring across Malthouse I believe the club should devise a new football department strucure that would appeal to Malthouse. I know for a fact that Malthouse is a big fan of Sir Alex Ferguson, when Malthouse arrived at Collingwood he stated that he wanted to turn them into the man utd of the AFL. The club should consider making a new position the same as a manager in soccer/football. By making a new position as manager at the club it may entice him over even more so than the money on offer may. He would be able to revolutionize the way footy depts are run. There would also be advantages for the club. Malthouse is a person with strong leadership & vision. He would be in charge of not only coaching but putting in place staff for recruiting, coaching etc. It would also solve the CS & CC issue. I think it would appeal to Malthouses ego & it could be a deal breaker.
