Yep, I am full of bulldust. I only work in the area, so what would I know? OK, I'll give up my day job. BTW Biff, are you in line to be Corey Bernardi's political adviser. I reckon you would be a great fit. You are the font of all knowledge after all.

Illegal stay overs have always been an issue and by default are not migrants. Most overstayers coming from the UK and Europe. Working visas are only temporary visas in any event

All Migration. Net Migration Numbers.
-
You make very good points DC. I remember in the 60's my conservative parents saying things like, they come here and live in their own communities. They refuse to learn English. They smell of garlic and they bring their troubles here. These are the Italian, Greeks and Slavs. Such ignorance still exists today, which is quite evident, so nothing much has changed in that regard. However, any reasonable reading of the Government's own and published statistics on Immigration clearly show that net migration has gone down in this country over the last 15 years and has an inverse relationship to the employment rate. Interestingly though, Governments of all colours struggle to balance budgets, due to an ageing population, an erosion of the tax base and a decline in productivity. Despite the urban myths, migration has made a huge contribution in this country to GDP and they manage to find work and pay tax. Go figure.

The Hadiths are not empirical and there is no overall agreement on them. Different groups and different individual scholars may classify Hadith differently. To cite particular religious texts and then attempt to infer that they apply with universality is simply spurious. It is analogous to asserting that the Old Testament edict of an eye for an eye, is the core of Christianity, when it is clearly not.
-
That is simply factually false. You're losing the plot I fear Biff and you are overtly showing your innate prejudice.

Amazing quantum leap right there. Islam does not fit in. If what you said weren't so egregious, it would almost be funny. So the mosques which have existed in the northern suburbs of Melbourne since the 60' s have always been a source of unrest and disharmony? So the likes of Ahmed Fahour - despite his inflated salary - , MP, Ed Husic, sports agent, Khoder Nasser, the late John Ilhan - founder of Crazy John's, Australian Navy Captain Mona Shindy, Bachar Houli, refugee and cricketer Fawad Ahmed, Usman Khawaja, Waleed Aly, comedian Nazeem Hussain and our own Adem Yze are all raving and ranting radical Muslims are they?

Thanks for answering my question Biff................. not. So what about Apartheid, Ceausescu and Milosovic, the final independence of East Timor, initiated under a UN sponsored agreement in 1999 and Indonesia's involvement, the previous support by the US of Saddam Hussain during the Iran/Iraq war? Remember Ollie North?

How did I do that? Was it only Nazis who were prosecuted for war crimes and crimes against humanity? The Geneva Convention is worthless I suppose. Come on Biff, your sense of history is surely better than that.
-
Sorry Biff. Of course, you thought you were wrong once, only to find out that you made a mistake on that as well. Such Conventions and Protocols are binding under international law. If they weren't no-one would ever have been prosecuted for war crimes. So I guess those that prosecuted were bullshitters as well?
-
But against a range of UN Conventions, to which America is a signatory.

I made no comment about that. I "think" more than you know mate. I work with the Islamic community very closely. Stop your labelling please. It is offensive. Perhaps you might try readying a A Short History of Islam. ......... written by a Catholic Nun.

Goody was on SEN this morning and provided a timely reminder that this year is the first full preseason Trenners has been able to put in, in 2 years.

Pots and kettles I suspect here

If it is a "silly" comment Choke, at least take consolation that you're not on your own on here. I still don't get how a white supremacist kid in Quebec, who is clearly deranged, somehow becomes the fault of Trudeau and a direct result of Islamic radicalisation.

The "usual hysterical and cliched replies from the usual confused people", such as myself, who only works very closely in the area, has now ceased. Other than to say people may like to look at the history of Muslim settlement in Australia. It pre-dates all of us on here and coexisted with the white Anglo-Saxon population peacefully and harmoniously for generations. It is overly simplistic to apportion the blame against a collective religion. It is directly sheeted home to those people who considered themselves disenfranchised and hijack a religion to justify their heinous crimes, as other religions have done over the centuries. The issue goes far deeper and is much more complex than just being a religious cause. I have Islamic friends, who are generous, knowledgeable and peaceful people, who are deeply despairing of the acts being committed in the name of Islam. In one case, a friend's wife - who was not wearing a head scarf - was spat on at her gym, by a blonde jock who called himself a patriotic Australia. Patriotism, .............. the last refuge of a scoundrel.

I think there would be a substantial percentage of existing members who use the automated membership renewal facility, hence the pre Christmas spike. I often say, while it is more Mickey Mouse than ever, the pre-season comp is vital for clubs like ours, to give a kick on to membership numbers. Let's hope we go well and remain injury free. I suspect if we do, membership numbers will jump drastically, before the start of the season proper.

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
iv'a worn smith replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in General Discussion
And perhaps that is a more appropriate analogy. Clearly, there a many more on here, that have far greater and informed insight to this issue, than anyone else who is involved in the football world professionally or has more than a passing interest, like me. We should bring back stoning I reckon. -

Citing Goebbels is somewhat of a quantum leap. He was after all the person in charge of propaganda in a Nazi regime.
