Stephanie says the club will get in touch with him directly, so I guess it is a case of watch this space

Unfortunately I didn't get much of an opportunity to speak to him. He was swamped by people after he finished speaking. I flashed my membership and he just smiled and gave me the thumbs up.

This morning I was at a business end of year function . The guest of honour was Rodrigo Teixeira (pronounced Teshera). Rodrigo was present with his wife, young son and baby. He spoke of his journey to Australia from Brazil, which culminated in he and his family attaining Australian citizenship. Rodrigo first came to Australia on a medical fellowship, as he was a surgeon in Brazil. He took up further training at our Royal Children’s Hospital. Now, he is Head of Reconstructive Surgery at the same hospital. He was the lead surgeon of a team that separated the conjoint twins; Krishna and Trishna See http://childrenfirstfoundation.org.au/2013/trishna-and-krishna/ But this morning, to top off such a wonderful story, Rodrigo announced to those assembled that he is a Melbourne Dees supporter, with the family of 4 being all members of the club. He joined up the youngest child while he was still in the womb. This is a wonderful story and I have brought it to the attention of the footy club and I hope they follow up. It highlights what is Melbourne’s wonderful multi-cultural community, which of course, thankfully, the AFL community has embraced. The fact that this great surgeon, coming from the other side of the world, to look after our kids and then becomes a MFC member is a great story for our footy club. Don't like the scarf idea at all. How many scarves can you have/need. Turn up to the footy with 2014 on your scarf and people think you are either a cheapskate, didn't renew your membership or you're not a true supporter. The only scarf idea I liked was Hawthorn putting years of membership on their scarves. I like the idea of 50 being on mine. But really, scarves have been done to death at the MFC and to me it's just lazy marketing. Anything but a scarf please.

It just goes to show that AFL players are as human as any of us. Love the clip and love they way our guys were so natural with the way they engaged with Andy. Well done Andy. Your boys will do you proud very soon.

My point is, what is a commensurate penalty? I am not talking about guilt or otherwise But clearly some on here believe that the 34 players should never set foot on an AFL football field again. Yet, their employer gets comparatively very light treatment. Doesn't seem to add up to me, but then what would I know.

Very dangerous to assume any "implication". My entire premise is that much of what has been said is entirely anecdotal. Of more concern to me is the AFL's - the "peak' sporting body in this case - deafening silence on this issue and their continuing obfuscation

I haven't seen it mentioned on here anywhere, but I thought it is worth noting the passing of Richmond premiership player of the late 60's Billy Barrot. A member of the famous premiership centre line of Bourke, Barrot, Clay. While I always was and always will be a devout Dee, as a kid I could not help but be in awe of Barrot as he streamed down the 'G in his number 24 jumper. No one could deliver a drop kick with such distance on the run. Many a kid would try to emulate him, me included. I actually got to be fairly proficient at the old drop kick. Billy was unceremoniously traded to St.Kilda, for Ian Stewart who would go on to win his 3rd Brownlow. Once again, a man who has left us far too soon

The AFL have a record of getting splinters in their collective posteriors from sitting on so many fences. But SWYL, ya just gotta go to the footy. The club is bigger than the 2 individuals concerned. As for Cousins, I consider that to be an entirely different scenario.

Precisely, and other than conjecture, no-one in the public domain ever will. So regardless of their guilt, naivety or otherwise, there is an ample school of thought on here that these young men should be totally deprived of their careers, despite the obvious culpability of their 'employer'? I just hope I will never have to appear before the 'Star Chamber' that is Demonland.
