Farewell Oscar McDonald
Oscar is neither as good as a few make out nor as bad as many make out. He has deficiencies but can come in and do a defensive job and if selected ahead of Tomlinson, can run a zone, allowing May & Lever to do their thing. His bad games have usually come when the team defence as a whole collapses and he becomes a convenient scapegoat. If he stays he's good injury coverage. If he leaves I won't be overly fussed. The thought of reading a Hawthorn backline of Frost, Frawley & Omac does provide some amusement though.

Titans, Bucs, Chiefs A bit bloody early in the season for a round this tough. I haven't had to drag this out for a while but the air went out of our balloon on the weekend. Again, a bit bloody early in the season but :

Welcome to Demonland: Bayley Fritsch
Might be a case of the club not knowing how big the pot is and how much they can offer. Can't recall too many re-signings by any club in recent months

It'll be a while before I'm assessing Brady at the Bucs. They are a patchwork quilt and with no pre-season to speak of it'll take a while to come together. Rodgers was good - but Rodgers is always good

Nothing to see here. Free kick for holding the man and move on. Arms weren't pinned and if Blakey is too goofy to use his free arms to break his fall, that's on him.- NFL
Eagles, Colts, Chargers- GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs GWS
Max needs to stand up. He is allowing himself to be physically dominated and it's impacting the game. Instead of bleating to the umps, next centre bounce he should plant a knee straight into Mumford's solar plexus. Even if it costs a free. But at least it shows he won't be intimidated- "No Merger" Podcast
Perhaps Festival Hall may have been more appropriate @Supermercado. The old "House of Stoush"- TEAMS: Rd 16 vs Fremantle
I know he's been roundly lambasted for the Swans game but I'm not sure even OMac can be given the arze twice from the one match- Fritsch Magnet
I repeat "We desperately need a CHF". So JW is irrelevant- Fritsch Magnet
We desperately need a CHF. With the removal of Hogan & the demise of TMac our forward line is all over the shop. We've gone from too many smalls to too many talls and everything in between making it harder for the likes of Fritsch, Hannan & to some extent Pickett to play their positions. Not helped by Melksham shirking contests & trying to be clever rather than rolling his sleeves up and getting stuck in. He has given me the Con Britts all season- POSTGAME: Rd 15 vs Sydney

- What they're saying down at Lakeside Drive
I heard a whisper that they had a crack at him last off-season but he knocked them back.- NON MFC: Round 15
Enjoyed that immensely. Great start to the footy week- Scratch Match vs Collingwood 28/8/20
Polec best on for Collingwood ? Might have been auditioning.- Joel Smith
Smith is no forward but there may be a place for him on the half back flank. Replacing Harmes who is hopelessly out of form. Brown can be a good lead up target. Did that well in R1 but dropped every ball he got his hands to. Usually a safe uncontested mark & kick. No value as a second ruck though. Sorry @A F, I haven't helped at all- The Breaking of Nathan Jones
Jones had his best game for the year on the weekend as most acknowledge. At the start of the season I was trying to see where he could possibly play effectively and decided the only real spot for him was the "ANB" role at half forward. Jones doesn't get over the ground as well as Nibbler but he remains a better footballer plus ANB's fumbly fingers and breakdown of potential scoring chains have annoyed me for ages. Jones is also a goal scoring threat anywhere from 50 in. He's a decent shot on the run. A couple of things that may have gone unnoticed on the weekend. Jones had some stints on the wing and "held his width" to use a modern term. His positioning prevented Collingwood exiting on the fat side. Also I noticed him doing a lot of defensive running off the ball. Picking up the likes of Crisp and Phillips and shadowing them so they couldn't be used as overlap runners & receivers. He may not be quick but he was quick & smart enough to help limit Collingwood's ball movement. All good disciplined team stuff. No doubt he's coming to the end but at the moment, for this particular role in the forward line, he's got it over Hunt, Harley, ANB (with or without suspension), Bedford and anyone named Wagner. And as @dazzledavey36 said, it was great to see the bald, chunky little fella enjoying his footy- Four Injured Horsemen
I think there was a club report in June / July saying they'd reassessed Petty's groin issue & agreed that surgery was the next step. I guess other treatments hadn't achieved the desired results. You would expect mid year groin surgery would most likely put a line through him for the season - Lachie Neale Tackle
