It was Port that offered the 2 picks and I think they were about 4 and 10, but I stand to be corrected. JT was that highly thought of by Port, that they offered a great deal, which we knocked back. There is no doubt that the blokes we took at 1 and 2 that year, would have been taken by every other club if they had those picks. Then the Tigers offered us pick 12 if JT passed his medical, which of course he didn't. We would have taken Lever with that pick. We took Brayshaw at 3 as would most clubs and he has had concussion problems. We lost Petracca for his first year with an ACL. Jesse has had a horrible year. Joel Smith looked ready to bloom and did his shoulder in the first 10 minutes of the first game. AVB has had foot problems for a couple of years. Gawn has done a couple of ACL's and now a hamstring. Tim Smith is injured in the first few minutes of his second game. Garland does his ACL in the pre season. Spencer replaces Gawn and goes down injured in his second or third game back. We have been unlucky.

Am I not part of "others"?

I told you I am on a diet and bananas unfortunately, are fattening.

Spoke to JT at the family day this week and he is such a nice guy, he really deserves some luck and a chance to show if he can still play footy at the top level. The early Captaincy of he and Grimes was poison to their careers.

Don't worry about that, 17 clubs passed on him a few years ago, when he was offered up as a trade after a few years with the Tigers, at a fraction of what he will get next year and is currently getting.

Well you were unavailable a couple of times and then others were also unavailable and it has gone into the bi annual category.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY

That might be the moral but ATM they are working. However I know they are only a short term fix but you often need to get a result early to ensure continuation and they are ok for that. PS. The caffe latte flavour is great.

Oxley was the loose sweeper. Leslie actually outmarked our players, with Tom Mac beaten the most often. Thought he was our worst player. Leslie looks a good player.

Yes aside from that first quarter shot at goal I thought ANB was ok yesterday.

There has been a lot of poor umpiring this year, with interpretations changing weekly. I wonder if the AFL chiefs are causing it with a reaction to certain situations, like the deliberate out of bounds, which has done a 360*. The in the back rule now clearly depends on the colors of the jumper of the player. The other possibility of the throwing rule is just plain incompetence. BTW, do you remember Bugg being coat hangered in the last and umpire 22 about 10 metres away, looking straight at it and no call and then umpire 29, Scott Jeffrey, from about 40 metres away and side on paid it. How does that happen. I wonder what explanation umpire 22 could possibly have for not calling it. PS. I hardly noticed the umpires yesterday and I think the female umpire is going well.

For some reason I struggled to pick up Oliver some of the time and was surprised when I saw the stats. He is a freak. Love him. Tyson's disposal in the first half was terrible. It improved when he was allowed to get a few steps from the pack, in the second half, probably due to a drop in pressure from the Suns.
-
I am unsure what criteria Billy is not meeting, as the week he was dropped I think he had about 20 possies at about 75-80% and he has some pace and great disposal. Also he would have kicked 5-6 goals of the 7 points Bugg scored in the last two weeks.

FWIW, that free against Harmes for a throw, near the end of the game, gifting the Suns a goal, has also been paid several times in games against Oliver. To me it is a blatantly incorrect interpretation and decision. A handball is hitting the the ball off a stationary hand by clenched fist. If the ball holding hand remains stationary, as it did, then it is irrelevant if it is hit with the fist/ knuckles or gap or fleshy part of the hand around the clenched thumb and forefinger. Oliver does this often punching the ball off his stationary hand and is pinged. IMO that is incorrect umpiring and it needs to be sorted out. It is certainly costing us.

IMO Stretch would have loved it yesterday, as the game was often open and he could have used his disposal skills to set us up with shots at goal. I don't understand why he is not getting a game. We have so many who are dreadful with the ball in hand. Even Lewis had a bad one early and couldn't find a target, not to mention that pathetic one handed attempt at a mark, which if it was Watts or someone like him, would have been called out as scared.

But I am still your favourite?

Saty don't blame fed up supporters, they have every right to be angry with the garbage served up in the first half by their team. It was trash.
-
Surely you jest, you think he would want to come to us.
-
That is our forte, chasing and then losing. No one is better.

Skilless rabble.

And has atrocious disposal.

Been giving those weight loss shakes a go this week and sad to say that the banana flavour is the worst tasting. Very disappointing to have to report that.
