Jack Watts was a far better player than Weid is and I think your comparison is pretty unfair to Jack and incorrect. Jack played in a worse team and was used all over the forward line, even playing a bit in defence and ending there with Port where he was going very well until injured. He was actually BOG against us playing off the half back line for Port. If we had Jack at Weid's age now, we would be far better off than we are and he would be absolute best 22. They did a good little analysis of Melksham’s role on 360. He is clearly playing his role of cutting off an interceptor and also providing an option inside F50.

Jack certainly had that scary look. Do you think he has spoken to Goody and knows that JVR is in? I think it would be a huge call in a big game like this. Not saying it wouldn’t work, just a lot more pressure on the kid. If BBB is fit it’s unlikely, given wet night and Melksham is playing his role.
