I agree with you. Nobody can start with a clean slate, a slate that does not take into account the current players, their skills, abilities etc.
You must adapt, take a long view sure, but work with what you got.
The players on our list are not THAT bad. Whatever is happening at the club has gutted them of confidence and skills.
I probably should have said that he won't last IF THIS KEEPS HAPPENING
I disagree. What has been dished up this year is just pathetic, not inept like much of last year. Whatever skill or talent the players had seems to have been removed in one shot. It is so bad as to be almost unbelievable. It is simply a joke.
Maybe, sadly. but my No. 1 is Yze. Time he did the right thing by the club, and retire (without being paid out), and give someone on the rookie list a chance.
Why not? Our list may not be that good, but we do have a good number of talented footballers. So, why are they all playing so badly. Even Alves on the radio today said: its so sad to see so many good players floundering, just out of form.
Bailey won't last the year.
Whatever that might be.
Whoops .. we won the last quarter today.
Certainly does, as do the assistant coaches.
What I'd like to hear Bailey say is: the bucks stops with me. I, as well as the players and other coaches, am accountable
48 point loss -
Positives:
Percentage improves
nearly matched north on the scoreboard after being 7 goals to 1 down - could have been another blowout
Anybody who thinks the coaches should not take (some) responsibilty for this has rocks in their heads.
I want to hear Bailey say: the buck stops with me. I am accountable.
Heard Alves on the radio saying "it is sad that so many good players are floundering, just out of form". So many.
I don't believe they know what they should be doing. game plan?? Crap!
Last trade period, Miller and Robbo were the only sought after players from MFC as far as I am aware; Miller by Sydney, Robbo by the Bullies.
This forum have given both players heaps of flack. Maybe time to put the personals aside, and listen to the pros.
There is no doubt that Bailey rates both players: after the cats game, he spoke admiringly of Robbo's aerobic and anaerobic capacity. His positive comments about Miller have been listed elsewhere.
These are both quality players who do not get the highest $'s out of a cap. They should be recognised as quality, if not at the highest level.
And Hansen is fragile - he'd be lucky to make 11 games out of 22.
I rate Miller as a hit up forward, that gives a contest. And don't forget, Sydney were after him, with a reported 2nd round draft pick trade. Sydney are no mugs.
