  1. I probably should have said: "An affiliation/partnership it is not. If MFC wants to keep doing it, they had better get their own VFL team, or expect Casey (or whoever) to sign up the likes of Fev."
  2. Touche. 2 years in a row, the MFC makes virtually NO players available for a final series for Casey. That's 15+ players! You are kidding me. An affiliation/partnership it is not. If MFC wants to keep doing it, they had better get their own VFL team.
  3. The quote was actually "lack of respect shown to the club's medical team". I'm betting this relates to virtually no MFC players being made available (for medical reasons) for Casey during the finals over to past 2 years - and Casey were very well placed last year only to get absolutely flogged in each finals game when they came up against a host of AFL players playing for their affiliates (or home teams). I remember at the time I thought it absurd, and why would Casey want to be involved with us if we treat them like that. Peter German left Casey 2 years ago; presumably for this reason.
  4. I'm pretty sure the Box Hill Hawks are in fact a Hawthorn reserve side.
  5. I think he is referring to you having picked Davey twice in your team
  6. B: Bartram Warnock Garland HB: Grimes Rivers Tapscott C: Trengove Sylvia Bail HF: Petterd Dunn Watts FF: Jurrah Green Jetta R: Jamar Scully Davey INT: Moloney , Maric, MacDonald, Campbell/Spencer (incl a sub) Emerg: Bennell, Jones, Morton (when fit), Gysberts Presuming Tapscott is fit enough, McKenzie isn't and Frawley for Warnock ASAP. Neither Morton or Jones are best 22 for mine. If McKenzie in, Bail to Interchange for Maric & with Frawley in, that would just about be my best 22, flat. Smokeys? Blease, McDonald & Howe
  7. Aren't we getting a bit ahead of our selves with Tapscott? He hasn't played a game yet.
  8. I'd be a little careful about who you call a fool. <Deep breath.> Check out these links: Link 1 Link 2

Interesting. Hadn't thought of Viney til now.... Father-son may be an issue.
  10. Yep, you highlight the absurdity of Scully's management's statement. I reckon he's gone, FWIW.
  11. One of the best technical football articles I have read.
  12. Smashed in contested possessions, inside 50s & clearances. Easily won the clangers. End of story.
  13. Yep
  14. Qrt time M 1.3.1 E 0.7.3
  15. M 3.0 E 7.2 Ed: Bummers 5 goals on the trot I think
  16. 1st q: 22:56 M 3.0 E 6.2
  17. Not sure that's still the case. Caroline Wilson's article suggests the Flying Start 'stable' isn't what it was, and Greg Miller had to help resuscitate the business.
  18. I would think North are safe for the length of the next TV rights agreement. The AFL will be contracted to provide 18 teams. So North has that amount of time (til 2017?) to get their house in order. The AFL will prop them up until then at least. After that? Gloves off?
  19. Great summary. One wonders what the credentials are for player managers to be registered with the AFL. If "being a fit and proper person" is one, you'd think he might well be off the list now. (Not forgetting the 'drink driving - fleeing an accident' issue a while back.)
  20. Tess did no more than offer an opinion. And he/she hasn't posted since Nov 27 (and only 600 in 5.5 years of being on the list)."Once again" is a bit strong. Then again, your 1900 posts in 1.5 years makes you a genius. End of story.
  21. Miller was rookied to act in a mentor role more than a playing role. I think he will be good at this. Buckley got a fair bit of it, but decision making and kicking were poor. I expect he will be delisted at end of year. Don't know where Sinclair fits in to anything. Thought Cheney was good in the early game tonight for Hawks agin WCE. May well make it with the hawks.
  22. So Bailey thinks he will stay. Well then, that's the end of it. Hang on a minute; he reckoned the same about Bruce.
  23. Get a grip, and don't be offensive. And where does paranoia come into it? If Scully is going somewhere else, why play him in our 1's? As Rhino might well say, why would a club give us a good pick for a player who has played 2 games in 2 years, and been ordinary for the most part of 2010 in the VFL?
  24. Great post. We are coming off the bottom, and are not a one player team. If he goes, he goes. Really interesting post. I presume we may lose 2 players because GWS has concessions for 2 years, not 1 like GC. So we may well lose a player each year eg Scully & Trengove (Trengove is contracted til 2012). FWIW, if Scully has not signed by mid-year, I'd put him in the VFL for the rest of the year. The Cats kept playing Ablett because they were flag contenders; we won't be, so should start planning and preparing for post-Scully. Lets not be victims.
  25. filth has no capital 'F'; just plain "filth".
